MTV has confirmed that production of Jersey Shore‘s fourth season, set to shoot in Florence, Italy, has been postponed, partly due to a visit from the country’s president, Giorgio Napolitano. The network said in a statement, “Production on Jersey Shore will begin this week, following the Italian presidential visit to Florence. In the ongoing spirit of cooperation, we’re waiting until his official visit concludes to start filming.” EW has learned that the presidential visit would have hindered production in terms of which locations the cast would be able to visit, hence the brief delay.

What do the Jersey Shore dummies have to do with Italy? They’re not all Italian and for the millionth time, they do not represent Italian-Americans.
Many of them are Italian, and they all adhere to an image/lifestyle that *IS* espoused by many Italian-Americans.
Oh, and it’s an interesting gimmick to ship them off overseas for a new season–Miami and Seaside were tired.

I absolutely agree. This is a terrible show and it portrays Americans, Italian-descendent at least, as complete morons … But, I do enjoy watching it, it just re-inforces my belief that most Americans are complete idiots because they would rather watch “reality TV” than a real TV show with talented actors.I will admit, however, that Jersey Shore also has some pretty funny “situations”. Staged 99% of the time, but still funny.
