Ashton Kutcher near deal to replace Charlie Sheen on 'Two and a Half Men'

Ashton Kutcher is winning.

The actor is just about set to return to primetime TV as the new star of CBS’ Two and a Half Men, according to multiple reports.

First rumored earlier today as a potential replacement for Charlie Sheen, it would mark his return to the sitcom world where he first broke through on That ’70s Show. Hugh Grant was in talks for the role, and he could have been a great choice, but the Brit dropped out.

Kutcher playfully seemed to confirm reports on Twitter, giving fans asking him about the reports a wink and tweeting “what’s the square root of 6.25?”

2 1/2 thumbs up to Chuck Lorre. Brilliant choice.

      LOSING !
      ….and just lost my viewing.

      See ya

      • something is wrong

This was a terrible choice, Bruce Willis would have been better, so would Bob Saget, heck even Joey from Full House would have been better

      • Prince William

I liked the Hugh Grant idea way better.

      • Jackie D

        Me too!

Ashton favors the nephew a lot. He’s a great choice (I like Ashton) but CBS can kiss the 20 million viewers goodbye. Half of the viewers are real-life jerks, that’s why they loved Charlie. I can tell, my ex doesn’t like TV but he would never miss 2.5 men. And yes, he’s a total jerk.

Oh God, please say it ain’t so!
        Lamest. Choice. Ever.

Ashton Kutcher doesn’t even have the edge that Charlie has.
Plus…well, there’s no need to critique his acting as its been mentioned enough.

Seems to me he has ruined every show he’s ever been cast in.
He should continue to be cast in parts for those who like programs such as “That Seventies Show” so the rest of us don’t have to be subjected to him!

If they can’t bring Charlie back, then they should just finish the season with the rest of the cast (which is very good) and call it quits.

        Count me out.

With havin so much content and artleics do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright infringement? My blog has a lot of completely unique content I’ve either created myself or outsourced but it looks like a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my agreement. Do you know any ways to help reduce content from being ripped off? I’d genuinely appreciate it.

Haha, everyone is hating on Charlie Sheen yet he is still winning in the poll. Ashton, you’re a total loser, LOL.

      • chelsea

        Look again. Charlie is done.
        Ashton might be refreshing.

      • Pippi

Look again…… Kutcher is winning. I personally don’t like neither of them

      • jill

I don’t think he’s a loser…..he’s married to Demi Moore! Charlie is married to ……….oh that’s right, they all ran away. I love and want to support Charlie, but Charlie has to get better!

      • Terry

He’s not winning in the poll I’m looking at.

      • Raven

Ashton is winning. Let’s face it, anything’s better than Charlie Sheen.

    • James

Ashton Kutcher? Perfect, he will help sink this ship even faster.

      • SaraS

Haha, exactly what I thought. HATE Ashton Kutcher, probably moreso than almost any Hollywood dude.. and I hate Charlie Sheen, so bye bye 2.5 Men.

      • LD

I am not a fan of Charlie, but trying to replace him with anyone will kill the show (then Charlie can gloat, and the stupid media will give him the credit) The show would probably have a better chance with only the cast it has. We are fans b’c of the other characters NOT Charlie. Make Ryan Stiles the other “man” and it will have a better chance.

    • jill

I can see Ashton in the roll of a couisn, or a brother they didn’t know about (LOL)

    • Jakasmfkr

      · 2 1/2 thumbs up to Chuck Lorre. Brilliant choice.
Yeah brilliant if he is deliberitly trying to kill the show for a tax right off.
I feel so sorry for CBS

    • Kezza

Sean Penn would be my choice if he hadn’t appeared on the show already

    • Svetlana

I think its a terrible choice. Ashton is a horrible actor! They need someone who can play the bad boy to offset Jon Cryer and Ashton isn’t it. The only parts he can somewhat play are a morons and “Jake” has that role on the show. Oh well, I give it 10 episodes before they cancel it or beg Charlie to come back.

    • Beau

What a disaster. I’ll never turn it on again. Can’t stand this overrated clown. Bomb city!

Like you, it sounds like a great idea, but how do they make that work with Alan and the rest of the gang (like Bertha)? Unless they build new sets, which is practically a character itself. To me, if it didn’t take place in Charlie’s house, it’s basically a new sitcom with some familiar actors.

I’d like it to work but how?

    • Jethro

Never watched the show, and definitly, now, will never, with Kutcher. He is offensive and irritating!

      • Jethro

  • dee dee

WooHoo! Can they start airing it next week!! Can’t wait!!

    • Kelly

Love Ashton!!! Charlie Sheen is icky.

  • John

And that’s when I stop watching

      me too

      me too

  • Me

Well that will be the end of my watching the show…I do not like Ashton Kutcher…he’s the worse possible replacement anyone could have picked and scraping the bottom of the barrel…oh well guess I’ll be turning the channel now…bye bye.

    • John

      Couldn’t agree more

    • jill

I thought Ashton Kurcher was a “Vinny Barbareno” actor when he was on the 70’s show…We all know (well those of us to know) that Vinny Barbareno turned into John Travolta. I thought Ashton was a flash in the pan actor, until I saw The Butterfly Effect…..I can’t bevlieve he’s even thinking about comeing back to TV and not going after a movie career!

    • allie

Ha Ha! I might actually WATCH the show now! LOVE Ashton Kutcher!

      • Waiz

Surfing around I noticed your web site book-marked as: What is the sister of Olga Farmaki being shot accidentally by well-known entrepreneur! | FreshCyprus. Now I am assuming you book marked it yourself and wanted to ask if social book-marking gets you a ton of site visitors? I’ve been looking at doing some book-marking for a few of my sites but wasn’t certain if it would generate any positive results. Many thanks.

  • Gretchen

Gotta support our Iowa boy. Oooohh. I think he admits to being from Iowa.

    • Jen

      Something wrong with Iowa, Gretchen?

    • Gretchen

@Jen — Nope I’m from Iowa. Flyover country to those on the left & right coasts. So it’s always nice to have a little fun with that.

  • Chu

I like him, but why would he return to television?

    • man in black

That’s my first question. Why? He has a pretty successful movie career. I mean OK, if he earns as much money as Charlie did per ep, that might justify it, but I doubt he can get that…

      • James

“He has a pretty successful movie career” LOL

  • Kurt

Jesus, either Hugh Grant or even John Stamos would’ve been a million times better than this talentless assclown. Charlie will be proven right: this show is now officially DOOMED.

    • John

      I know right????

      • Austin

Since when has Sheen ever been proven right? He is one one who has fallen off the deep end and keeps going down despite the fact he has children to take care of. Irresponsible *ss with a big mouth, way too old for his behavior to be seen as anything but pathetic.

  • Alfredo

FAIL. Why not just cancel the show?

    • gato

  • Matt C.

I actually like Ashton Kutcher, so I might have to start watching this show more now. I just don’t understand why they would bother continuing the show without Charlie Sheen…I mean, I know he isn’t the sole reason for the show’s success, but I have a feeling the ratings will drop significantly next season regardless of who they would have cast.

    • Chuck Lorre

I’ll tell you exactly why: because f*** Charlie Sheen! With Kutcher instead of Sheen, the production costs of my show go way down, the crew stays employed for the foreseeable future, and I get to make more money while proving to that snowman that I’m winning! “Duh.”

      • Linda

Hmmmm I didn’t realize this had become a game of oneupmanship….You sir have finished 2.5 men for me. Between the 2 attitudes I can’t decide who’s is worse. But I know that I don’t plan on helping anyone “win” just to show someone up. If the decision to replace Mr. Sheen was due to wanting to save a good show then that would be one thing but your reasons are just as pathetic and narcissistic as Mr. Sheen’s. But in my lonely opinion at least Mr. Sheen was honest about where his opinion came from. I will now let you know that in my household the word has already come out from me that 2.5 men is now boycotted in my home.
