Ashton Kutcher is winning.
The actor is just about set to return to primetime TV as the new star of CBS’ Two and a Half Men, according to multiple reports.
First rumored earlier today as a potential replacement for Charlie Sheen, it would mark his return to the sitcom world where he first broke through on That ’70s Show. Hugh Grant was in talks for the role, and he could have been a great choice, but the Brit dropped out.
Kutcher playfully seemed to confirm reports on Twitter, giving fans asking him about the reports a wink and tweeting “what’s the square root of 6.25?”
2 1/2 thumbs up to Chuck Lorre. Brilliant choice.

Ashton favors the nephew a lot. He’s a great choice (I like Ashton) but CBS can kiss the 20 million viewers goodbye. Half of the viewers are real-life jerks, that’s why they loved Charlie. I can tell, my ex doesn’t like TV but he would never miss 2.5 men. And yes, he’s a total jerk.

Plus…well, there’s no need to critique his acting as its been mentioned enough.
Seems to me he has ruined every show he’s ever been cast in.
He should continue to be cast in parts for those who like programs such as “That Seventies Show” so the rest of us don’t have to be subjected to him!
If they can’t bring Charlie back, then they should just finish the season with the rest of the cast (which is very good) and call it quits.

My blog has a lot of completely unique content I’ve either created myself or outsourced but it looks like a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my agreement. I am not a fan of Charlie, but trying to replace him with anyone will kill the show (then Charlie can gloat, and the stupid media will give him the credit) The show would probably have a better chance with only the cast it has. We are fans b’c of the other characters NOT Charlie. Make Ryan Stiles the other “man” and it will have a better chance.

I think its a terrible choice. Ashton is a horrible actor! They need someone who can play the bad boy to offset Jon Cryer and Ashton isn’t it. The only parts he can somewhat play are a morons and “Jake” has that role on the show. Oh well, I give it 10 episodes before they cancel it or beg Charlie to come back.
What a disaster. I’ll never turn it on again. Can’t stand this overrated clown. Bomb city!

Like you, it sounds like a great idea, but how do they make that work with Alan and the rest of the gang (like Bertha)? Unless they build new sets, which is practically a character itself. To me, if it didn’t take place in Charlie’s house, it’s basically a new sitcom with some familiar actors.
I’d like it to work but how?

I thought Ashton Kurcher was a “Vinny Barbareno” actor when he was on the 70′s show…We all know (well those of us to know) that Vinny Barbareno turned into John Travolta. I thought Ashton was a flash in the pan actor, until I saw The Butterfly Effect…..I can’t bevlieve he’s even thinking about comeing back to TV and not going after a movie career!

I actually like Ashton Kutcher, so I might have to start watching this show more now. I just don’t understand why they would bother continuing the show without Charlie Sheen…I mean, I know he isn’t the sole reason for the show’s success, but I have a feeling the ratings will drop significantly next season regardless of who they would have cast.
I’ll tell you exactly why: because f*** Charlie Sheen! With Kutcher instead of Sheen, the production costs of my show go way down, the crew stays employed for the foreseeable future, and I get to make more money while proving to that snowman that I’m winning! “Duh.”

But I know that I don’t plan on helping anyone “win” just to show someone up. If the decision to replace Mr. Sheen was due to wanting to save a good show then that would be one thing but your reasons are just as pathetic and narcissistic as Mr. Sheen’s. But in my lonely opinion at least Mr. Sheen was honest about where his opinion came from.
