Is Ashton Kutcher taking over for Charlie Sheen, or are we being punk’d?
Kutcher is the latest rumored name to surface as a possible new star of CBS’ Two and a Half Men, says trade publication B&C. CBS and Warner Bros. are hustling to find a suitable big-name comedic star to replace Sheen since the clock is ticking until the network’s upfront presentation to advertisers next week. If Kutcher lands the role, it would mark his return to the sitcom world where he first broke through on That ’70s Show. Hugh Grant was in talks for the role, and he could have been a great choice, but the Brit dropped out. WB, huddled in meetings readying for the upfronts, had no comment.
I don’t watch the show, but if this happens you can kiss all your awards prospects goodbye.

I’m not saying they were, but they used to be nominated for stuff.
No awards? Oh NO! I think the biggest award will be the big FU that they give to Diva Von Sheen, and the millions of people who will watch to see how the show goes with a new star. I personally hope it does quite well.

People don’t even go to his movies. What makes anyone think they will watch him on television?
I’ve watched him on tv when he was on That 70′s Show, and have seen a few of his movies. Is he an actor that is continuously nominated for Oscars? No. But the performances that the cast provide aren’t Oscar performances either. It’s a show that is meant to bring laughter & fun, which Ashton can do.
Two & A Half Men gets nominated for awards every year. Jon Cryer won an Emmy for the show.
That 70s show never got anywhere near the ratings of Two & A Half Men, so he won’t be bringing a huge fan base with him.

this is absurd… Kutcher cant fill the blank Sheen left on 2 and 1/2 Men… Sheen’s humor is sarcastic… Kutcher’s humor is Dumb… not saying Kutcher is not a good comediant… but he just dont have whats needed to replace Sheen… i will keep looking the show, but im pretty sure it will loose ratings pretty fast with this poor replacement.

how bout not putting a child into the role of an aging MAN going through his second childhood, dechovny was brilliant in californication. not that he’d ever wanna take on the role but would bring what the show really needs if its ever going to make up for dropping charles, what are they thinking even contemplating an interview with someone outside of the age class needed for a smooth transition, what would the story be, he had a face lift to take 20yrs off. get real

That would certainly be a different dynamic (which is what you might need to move forward), but I think you might drive off as many people as you bring in with Kutcher.

NO!!!!!! AK cannot act. He was OK in 70′s show because he wasn’t required to be too real but he sucks in every movie he’s done. No, no, no – unless, of course, they’re looking to get cancelled.

What is wrong with going with what they already have?? Charlie’s on permanent vacation and Herb moves in with Alan!! Great combo along with the rest of the current cast.

This show is about Charlie (Sheen)… that is why is not possible in any way to the show to continue with same succes… change the name and the story… make a new show… because this one is gone with Sheen

Definitely. Hugh can play a sort of lothario while still being charming. I think he could bring a lot of new ideas and excitement to this show, which is a pretty typical sitcom. I would have actually watched if Hugh was on…it’s a shame he withdrew.
