Image Credit: FilmMagic Inc/FilmMagic.comTim Allen’s return to primetime is a go: ABC ordered a new comedy that will star the Home Improvement star as a traditional manly-man in a progressive world. The laugher also will feature Nancy Travis, who will play Allen’s “smart and loving wife who doesn’t miss much.” Hector Elizondo will serve as Allen’s boss Ed.
The comedy is titled Last Man Standing and is from the Emmy-winning Jack Burditt (The Mike O’Malley Show, Inside Schwartz). ABC also picked up Apartment 23 (which previously had the rather great but ultimately doomed title Don’t Trust the Bitch in Apartment 23).
ABC also renewed Happy Endings, the freshman laugher that stars Eliza Coupe (Scrubs), Elisha Cuthbert (24), Zachary Knighton (FlashForward), and Damon Wayans, Jr. (The Underground).

I really hope some of you guy tune in, You’re bound for a laugh or two.
Sorry Tim. You are no longer funny. You are old and so ten minutes ago. I give the show about 4-6 episodes and then they pull the plug.
I was at the pilot taping on april 27 and it was amazing, Tim Allen is very talented. I want to join the Tim Allen fanclub. I will be watching. His parents were also lovely people and he showed his respect for them like a true champion.
Looking forward to this. Hopefully, it will be a hit!
I can’t imagine myself ever watching this.
I like Tim Allen, but this sounds like Home Improvement without Tool Time.
one giant step back to 1991. yay for us.
1991 was a good year for tv. I’m not complaining!
To infinity and beyond!
Look forward tim allen is a crack up
I CANNOT WAIT to skip this.
ditto that
Glad Happy Endings is coming back.
He is 56 and trying to pass for 39ish. And his ‘I speak for all guys’ act is tiresome.
Don’t worry, Tim. Going back to primetime and recapturing that old magic is simple.
How does someone with Mike O’Malley Show and Inside Schwartz as credits get to create a show? This is everything that is wrong with television!
I agree with you. It says he’s an Emmy winner, but he certainly didn’t win anything for those shows. They were major flops.
Can’t wait… NOT!
This is so exciting i cant wait to see Tim Allens Show it should be really good.
I LOVE HAPPY ENDINGS!!!!!!!!! So happy it was picked up. Best comedy on TV since “Modern Family.”
