CBS placed more orders today for fall shows, including a new drama from Robert De Niro and another one that was previously dubbed The Rememberer (thank God, though, the title was changed).
The 2-2, which was previously called Rookies, is from De Niro and follows six NYPD rookies as they balance their personal lives with learning the beat on the streets of Manhattan. It stars Adam Goldberg, Leelee Sobieski, Tom Reed, Terry Kinney, and Stark Sands. Unforgettable features Poppy Montgomery and is about a female NYPD detective who possesses the special ability to remember everything (because, she’s the rememberer!).
The net also picked up How to be a Gentleman, a comedy based on the book of the same name that follows an unlikely friendship between a traditional, uptight columnist and his rough-around-the-edges friend and trainer.

What about Ringer with SMG??
CBS passed on the pilot, but the CW picked it up to series
The 2-2 sounds just like ABCs Rookie Blues just with a different cast. I like Rookie Blue. I will probably not watch CBS’ take on it, CBS skews so much older and more procedural than I like.
Also, The Rookies, from the early ’70′s with Michael Ontkean and Kate Jackson. Don’t remember if that was set in NYC or LA
Will “The Rookies” aka “The 2-2″ be filmed in NY or LA?
I agree, reusing ‘Rookies’ title was ripping off Aaron Spelling’s show with Kate Jackson, Mike Onktean..
It was set in California but the fictional “Bay City” as were Starsky, SWAT, and TJ Hooker.
So was Bay City Blues, Bochco’s short-lived baseball series.
Adam Goldberg and Leelee Sobieski? Are they crazy?
My thoughts exactly. Can’t stand either of these two individually, why would I bother with a show featuring both in prominent roles?
Does CBS have any comdies that do NOT have a studio audience/laugh track? just curious…
Ringer will bomb, since fans will expect “Buffy” and complain.
Be happy they didn’t ask Justin to be in a show. He gets on your nerves really fast. Trust me, I should know. Oh, and he has a teeny wee wee. Hee Hee!
Goldberg and Kinney were also together in The Unusuals.
This is why I’ve all but given up on network TV. This is really the best that CBS has to offer? Two more police procedurals with the same basic plotlines that have been done to death. The 2-2 sounds pretty much like the same set up as Rookie Blue. Seems like all the best creative minds are on cable now. HBO, Showtime, Starz, FX, TNT, AMC, etc., all have shows that far better than most of what’s on the networks.
CBS is pretty terrible with creativity, but don’t be quick to knock the other networks. They at least try to do different things every season.
You are just realizing this now?
Point – Rookie Blue is an import from Canada (as is Flashpoint on CBS).
The idiots who head up your networks look at what works in other countries, then bastardizes it (mostly) horribly. The Office is about the only real good co-opted series.
Stick with cable…or wait for all series to come out on DVD, rent them and return them if you don’t like ‘em. That’s what I do.
Unforgettable sounds stupid. I just really wish they would find another day and time for Detroit 187 and hopefully CSI NY will also be renewed..alot of silly comedies have been picked up…so ridiculous..Brothers and Sister another great show..gone.
Like Poppy Montgomery so glad to see her back and I like the concept. Yes, she remembers clues but it also means she remembers the grisly details of crime scenes which is sure to haunt her.
Rip off of Dr Reid on Criminal Minds without the 187 IQ.

Now comes the news of ANOTHER TWO MORE COP DRAMAS!!!! That’s a total of TEN HOURS of cop/law enforcement dramas in a single week!!!
Does CBS have any dramas which ARE NOT cop/law enforcement themed? Geez.
Nope….
You forgot Hawaii-Five-0.
So thrilled for Unforgettable. I love Poppy Montgomery and loved Kevin Rankin on Big Love!
Where’s the Patrick Wilson drama? Is that going to be in 2012? Whenever it is, I’m looking forward to it!
I would rather watch Southland than Rookies
I would rather watch Psych than unforgettable.
Makes me scared for The Good Wife. Love that show and its more than just a procedural. Really hope they don’t do anything stupid and cancel it….
