Conan O'Brien heading to New York

conan_320.jpg

Conan O’Brien is bringing his late-night act back to New York, where it first began. TBS announced today that O’Brien’s show will spend four nights at New York’s Beacon Theater, beginning Oct. 31, to celebrate his cable show’s one-year anniversary. In 2012, Conan will hit the road again, with a trip to Chicago.

He should bring it back to New York permanently. The shows have just had a different vibe since he moved to L.A.

    • Kristin

      AGREED!

    • Matt

Couldn’t agree more; he’s from Boston, I know, but between LA and New York, New York is the waaay better fit for him. I do wish he would go back.

    • Some Dude Saying “Big Time” on the Internet

      Big time.

        ^Best comment ever.

    • Big Walt

I never understood why he didn’t immediately relocate back to NYC after his Tonight Show fail. That’s just where he should be. Plus I’m sure all the staff would have liked to move back home.

      • SomeGuy32

His whole staff had just relocated their lives out to Los Angeles. and had been there less than a year. Asking everyone to move back would not have been fair.

  • Roger

    Is Conan still on TV?

    • Uh

      Roger that.

      • Jackie

        LOL Good one.

  • Kurt

He needs to dump worthless Andy, whip out the checkbook and do his best to lure back Max Weinberg and Joel Goddard. I agree that New York was a better fit for him. L.A blows.

    • Big Walt

Joel and Max brought virtually nothing to the show. I’m happy with what it is now.

      • JJ

        And Andy brings what?

      • Uh

@JJ, inspiration for your “awesome” comments.

  • Scott

Whatever, Conan is back and better than ever!

    • Dallas

      AGREED.

  • Le HIROSHI

Love, love the monologue segment; he’s such a natural and funny guy. The recent talk with N. MacDonald was priceless, too.

    All the best. . .

  • Dallas

Goodness, I love him. He’s been doing so great on TBS!

  • Person that says AWWWW YEAAHH!

AAAAAHHHHHHH YEEEEAAAHH! He’s coming back! I agree with the posts above me, he should definitely relocate his show to New York.

  • tomm

Max is in his 60′s, and wanted to move back East for his family, so no go.

Also, what happened to all the fanatics that claimed Conan would have better ratings than NBC? The whole ‘save Coco’ was just another big fad that ‘bandwagon jumpers’ did a year ago.

  • DV

He is involved with sitcoms and other shows as producer, so he couldn’t just move back. His company (not just show) is based in LA now. He bought a huge house, moved his family to LA. Moving back to NY would be like going backwards. For what he does, LA is the place for him and his staff.

  • RAYMOND

Say it is about time New York see what they lost. Conan O’ Brian is G R E A T E!!!!

  • johna

Such an obvious, desperate attempt to get some attention. He’s over, TBS knows it and Conan knows it.

    • Oh Hi

      Cry more.

  • joe

    Stay in New York

  • chicago_animal

Forget NY…when Conan was in Chicago a few years ago there were lines so long not everyone go it.

Screw the Over rated NY…come to chicago.

  • kentst

    1 move to nyc
    2 get rid of andy
3 bring back max and joel

  • Cheryl

    Viva Los Angeles! :)
