First photos of Ashton Kutcher with 'Men' cast

Tweet worthy? Here are the first photos of Ashton Kutcher with his Two and a Half Men castmates on the CBS upfront stage at Carnegie Hall and the after-party’s red carpet. (Not that Kutcher went to the party, mind you; he hit the carpet then scooted.) Everybody’s all smiles… What do you think? Is the idea of Kutcher on this show starting to gel for you? Or is it still weird?

    It’s weird to me.

    • Ran

The first pic; Cryer is emoting joy with such palpable relief. The second pic is much cooler, in fact they all look much more elegant and refined, they should keep that look for the show; do away with the schlubby Charlie stuff. Plus how short was Sheen? Kutcher is towering over Angus, and Angus used to tower over sheen. Sheen must be practically a Hobbit.

      • Andrew

Sheen and Cryer are both 5’8

      • lin

Sheen is not short at all.I met him in the 90s and i would say he is in the 5’11 or 6ft range but a real jerk.

      • Sam

Charlie Sheen is a little taller than Jon Cryer actually but yeah shorter than Ashton Kutcher (Ashton is pretty tall, he used to be a model)

      • NoirFan01

IMDB.com lists Sheen as 5’10″ & Cryer as 5’9″ which is probably close to accurate.

      • NoirFan01

The height of Angus is listed as 5’9″; however, in these photos he looks a little shorter than Jon.

      • Li

He’s actually about the size of your average troll.

      • David hall

CHARLIE SHEEN is a nobody for you to make fun of, He still a great actor and all

      Losing Big Time

Sad…show jumped the shark. Should end and create a NEW show. Then no comparisons….:(

      • Jeffrey Newman

I don’t think you can say it jumped the shark yet, until we’ve seen it. That said, I agree with you. But this isn’t about doing what’s logical. This is all ego driven. And in this case, WB and Chuck Lorre want to be able to say it survived in a post Charlie world. They risk the opposite happening. Everything depends on what AK’s role is … I thought they should have killed off the CS character and have him leave everything to a son no one knew he had …

    • Ted Striker

From day one, I never understood how or why this show had such a large audience… it was simply a run-on string of one liners about how to get women into bed. I think so many other comedies on TV are vastly superior in that they are more clever and have a wider variety of comedy – for example, The Office, Community, Parks and Rec, Raising Hope, Modern Family, The Middle, Cougar Town, Entourage, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Better Off Ted, How I Met Your Mother, and on, and on, and on. The fact that this particular show has been such a ratings behemoth paints a telling picture as to the lack of sophistication in Mr. Joe “Nielsen Rating” Public’s walnut brain.

      • rcade

The Middle and Cougar Town are your idea of sophisticated TV?

      • Ted Striker

No, they are not… but in comparison to Two and A Half Men, they look like Masterpiece Theater to me.

      • LeesaMarie

How I Met Your Mother is more about getting women into bed than Two and a Half Men – and not as funny.

      • guodrellit

Ted, I think all the shows you listed are hilarious, and I watch most of them. 2 1/2 men is just as funny as the rest. Given the right charactor, Ashton should make it just as good. (I hope)

      • Bruce

One liners on how to get woman into bed, thats why men liked it, woman liked it just to see how men think, and Sheen was a rascal, woman like that to, and the freudian references made it all OK in the end. SImple concept and light hearted, for a show that promotes sexism and alcoholism, relief from our overtly contrived society.

      • Joe F.

It can never be explained. Most people laugh when they hear a fart joke. I think its as simple as that.

      • Rmal

I still miss Better Off Ted!

      • Jeremy

Geez, how many TV shows do you watch? Go outside…

      • Mat lismore

It was a fictionalisation of sheens life, and those shows are terrible I couldn’t even watch an episode of the office I had to turn over after 5 minutes sheen was a god In his role !

      • Jordan

How I met your mother has exceptionally clever writing in comparison to 2 1/2 men. and better off ted, community, modern family, are masterpieces. dont even try to compare them

      • jay

ur just plain out boring dude

      • Lisa

I agree on your assessment of 2 1/2 Men, but disagree for sure on your opinion of funny sitcoms. How I Met You Mother being one, completely about scheming how to get women into bed. Modern family? Sure, if you are into complete chiches that weren’t even funny the first time and have been beaten to death. I watched all of those shows maybe twice and they were absolute examples of “the dumbing down of America”. I can hardly remember the last “comedy show” made me laugh out loud. Once in awhile maybe the Cable shows…but only rarely in that case, either.

    • Haters

They look fine to me. Probably relieved they still have jobs.

  • shaselai

it will be weird.. he should get rid of the beard on screen definitely

    • Sam

if he plays the man child, slacker he will keep the beard, it is expected.

  • Zeke

    The half man is weird

    • HMac

      lol!!

  • arnel pineda

Geeat fit, I think his sense of humor will help the show.

    • allie D

Agreed. I think of all the names that have come through as “replacements” for Charlie Sheen, this one sounds like the best fit.

    • yeah right

What “sense of humor” ? lmaooooo

  • shaselai

i can see ashton being the “carefree” type but probably not the womanizer type. Maybe ashton’s character will get jake and alan into trouble more.

  • tomm

Angus Jones lost his baby fat, and seems to be level headed. No mug shots in his future, I bet.

    • guodrellit

I heard his parents only let him keep 5% of his money, & the rest was put away. Good job Angus parents.

      • evy

euh actually his parents have a mug shot..true..haha

  • bruno

love it. the kid’s all like “i’m standing beside the guy from punked who’s bangng an old chick! so awesome!”, while cryer’s all through gritted teeth “he gets a million an episode???!! i’m ducky for chrsts sake. DUCKY!!!”….
let’s kelso 2.0 this show up in here. alas, it’s still chuck lorre and my ability to watch any of his crap is next to impossible so i may well never see it. such a clever choice though…

    • Jason R

I agree with EVERYTHING you just wrote. Oh, and you made me laugh with that Ducky shiz.

  • Melissa

    I want Charlie Back!

    • jason

I totally agree. Charlie made the character.

  • Z

I will watch. I like Ashton Kutcher. Although I loved the original cast for sure…once “real life” overshadows everything…it just ruins the show for me. I hope it works and I will give this a chance!!

  • Gemma Titmuss

Ashton Kutcher? Come on. They should have cast someone like Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Owen Wilson, Jack Black, Rob Schneider, Jeremy Piven, Mike Myers or Jim Carrey.

    • Solamente Dave

Rob Schneider? The rest of the list I could see (kinda), but Schneider?

      • FlowerPower

Yes, Rob Schneider. He’s FUNNY, quick-witted, and has great comedic timing. He no doubt loves fart jokes too so why not?

    • stickittotheman

Just because you WANT some actor doesn’t mean they will accept the job. I am sure most actors felt this role would be a train-wreck, so they avoided it like the plague.

    • shaselai

ben, adam, owen, mike and jim will ask too much money imo. Jeremy piven is meh and Jack black is not the “charismatic” type charlie was.

    • Ted Striker

Other than Rob Schneider, none of the other actors you list would touch this show with a 50-foot pole… and some of them would scoff at doing any form of a TV show.

    • BP

Piven, definitely. Egotistical pretty boy would be a perfect replacement.

      • Ding

        Cheeeeesse

    • sexxyrican

Jim Carey is toooooooo ugly now that he’s skinnier.. that part is for anyone else U mentioned B4

    • Krothens

Have you seen ANY of them in TV shows recently? They dont exist there… only where the one shot big money is in which are MOVIES

    • Lisa

Seriously? What would ever make you think that real comedians would want to be on such a weak comedy sitcom. Oh and BTW, on my first post I meant cliche…not chiche! My bad…!

  • Fido

Yay for the cast update, but wft re: salary at $1 mill / episode. I’m all for awarding success, but to go immediately to that level without even appearing in a single ep, well that feels just craaaazy.

  • Moses Ashford

I hope that they finally cancel this series. I am bored of it. Charlie Sheen had such a promising career and I am so disappointed to see the direction that his life and career has gone. He has done some great movies in his time such as Wall Street (1987), The Three Musketeers (1993), The Arrival (1996), Shadow Conspiracy (1997), Postmortem (1998), etc. I always wanted him to just do mainstream movies, particularly serious films and dramas, try to reach his full potential as an actor, join the A-list and try to win an Oscar. But now I have just given up on him. He hasn’t surpassed his father, Martin Sheen who still gets better roles and does bigger movies and he has become the laughing stock of Hollywood.

  • Pd

Charlie, RIP. Ashton good luck. Beacause of Sheen, I’ve never watched the show… now I will Love Ashton!!!

    • jared4ever

I agree, I may actually watch the show now.

    • evy

hey maybe you never watched the show but it did do pretty well without you, for info it was the most watched comedy on tv, your viewership well not indispensable to say the least..

  • sara

I am wondering if ashton will be charlie’s son, one he didnt know about….

    • marge

I think Sheen’s only about ten years older than Kutcher. That would be a bit of a stretch.

      • Maria

Well…Demi Moore is 14 years older than him. In the world we live in 10 years age difference really isnt a stretch…sorry not trying to be mean, just real…

      • jared4ever

Wow, Demi Moore is older than Ashton Kutcher? NEWSFLASH!!! And has nothing to do with Charlie being 10 year old when Ashton was born. but thanks for the input Maria.

      • googliezoo

Sheen was born in 1965, Kutcher in 1978, so if they make Ashton’s character a couple of years younger than the actor is IRL it could work.

  • Fedup

I can’t stand Ashton…so thats it for me

    • kristie

Rob Lowe should have been a front runner…

      • jimb

rob lowe and charlie are buddies. don’t think he’d take the job.

      • Ian

Rob Lowe is under contract for a better show on a different network. How exactly COULD he have been a frontrunner?
