Lauren Alaina was all smiles backstage at the Nokia Theater, and she appeared genuinely happy for her fellow teenager Scotty McCreery, who took home the season 10 crown. EW spoke with her after the show to talk about her obvious connection with Scotty McCreery (including those kisses she showered on him), her duet with season 4 champion Carrie Underwood, and what she hopes to do now that the show is over. You don’t have to know Haley well at all. You just have to know that it was how she handled herself that made her lose. 1) she argued with the judges (doesn’t matter if she was right) 2) she acted too happy when someone else was eliminated — Proof — look at how she looked when she lost.
It doesn’t matter if Haley was the best. What matters is that she didn’t understand that people vote want to vote for someone who is gracious.
Hope she knows how to say “Would you like fries with that?”

Hate to disappoint you but the AI “people” always sign the runner-up and have first right of refusal to the other 11. Unless that has changed over the past few years or so.
They both have already been signed by Mercury Nashville who represent Tim McGraw and Sugarland. With that kind of backing, they are sure to get the help they need and will be successful.
With the right training, album, and makeover Lauren could be way bigger than Carrie. Lauren has a naturally bubbly TV friendly personality, she more likeable than Carrie.

she is already ‘way bigger’ than Carrie, lol. how can you look at her pic above and not think is is overweight? the 1st thing the record co. will do is tell her to slim down. it’d make her a better singer as well.
Lauren isn’t fat. She’s normal, unlike most of the other skin and bones freaks in show biz.
That’s your “opinion,” not mine, and not the rest of Carrie’s millions of fans who think she’s sweet as pie! Hopefully, Lauren will do well. I really like her, and she has a beautiful voice ~ but she’s no Carrie Underwood ~ she’s only 16, and very immature right now. We’ll see how tour goes ~ that’s what separates the “men from the boys” ~ traveling cross-country, touring & making an album at the same time!
I’m so glad that Scotty won he is just so intergectic and an all around good person. He deserved to win but it would have been nice even if Lauren won cuz she and Scotty were both the younger finalists and they are both going to get a deal with a record company so it’s all good, but I’m gals Scotty won!!!!

Lauren is only 16, she will get better as she becomes an adult. Carrie Underwood was 22 when she won. Lauren will do well in country she has the “it” factor.

Assuming your comment about runner-ups is 100% true, that doesn’t bode well for Scotty either. David Cook was the last winner to have better album sales than the runner-up. (Adam outsold Kris, Crystal outsold Lee)
Only because Cook is a rocker. But Archuleta has the best voice by a longshot! Even Cook recognized this when he said that Archie had more talent in his little finger than he (Cook) had!
In response to AI Fan: David Archuleta has a nice voice, but, his problem was that it was what we call a one trick pony voice. Look back at everything he sang and it was all the same. He never truly varied what he sang. The one time he did was almost a complete disaster and the only thing that saved him was his teeny-bopper following. And as a musician and trained in a wide variety of music styles and genres, David Cook was being kind to Archie. David Cook had and has as much if not more talent than Archie will (unless he learns to do more things with his voice than the one style). That said, I am putting on my flame proof suit and will accept any flames sent my way…grin

Lauren could stand to lose a few pounds and her makeup style is a bit too much like Tammy Faye Baker, but I think she is adorable and sweet. Concerning her voice, listening off the web or MP3, her voice stands out and is more effective than when watching her perform on TV.
I’m not a fan of Lauren, but your argument loses all credibility by saying she’s a “fat ass”. Come on, grow up. Adele is not stick skinny either but from what I see, she’s doing pretty well right now.

Where did you ever read that in her attitude or character? She certainly can’t control what the judges say. Are you say she let up or didn’t give it her all?
At no point did it seem like Lauren “thought she had it in the bag.” She always seemed surprised and happy when she got through to the next round.
Haley is the one who acted like she thought she had it in the bag. Just look at the disbelief in her face when she was voted out. And the smile on her face most times when another contestant was voted out.
Steven Tyler likes Lauren because she’s young and pretty, and he’s a pervy grandpa.
Lauren does have a charm that seems to connect with Mr. Tyler. Cases in point, her audition and Hollywood week performances involving Mr. Tyler.
