Bravo making another Kara DioGuardi reality show

Is Kara DioGuardi wild and compelling enough for her own cable docu-series?

Bravo is betting she is, announcing the development of Kara, a series following around the former American Idol judge as she juggles her business and professional life. The network is going out with this announcement on the day after the Idol finale to help promote the upcoming premiere of DioGuardi’s other Bravo reality project, Platinum Hit, a music competition series debuting May 30 (she’s is the head judge).

“I am excited to broaden my relationship with Bravo” said DioGuardi of Kara. “I am a fan of the network and appreciate how their programming gives the audience a birdseye view into different industries and really uncovers what makes people tick.” See? Full of excitement.

Kara overload for me. Platinum Hit looks alright and I’ll probably give it a shot but I don’t find Kara interesting enough to carry her own show about herself.

  • KC

I wish this one focused on that bod of hers. Yowza.

i usually give anything on bravo a shot. i like kara, so i’m on board. but i’m curious to see how she’ll be on platinum hit first.

Bravo is scraping the bottom of the barrel with this idea…yikes! No offense Bravo, but don’t mistake desperation for being “compelling”.

I am not looking forward to yet another reality show! Saturation point has been reached for me. Wish more networks would bring back “UN-reality programming. One can only hope.

“…as she juggles her business and professional life.” Business and professional life BOTH?! What a treat!

I didn’t hate Kara on AI like other people, but shouldn’t they wait to see if Platinum Hit is a success first before giving her another show? I don’t know if she’s really all that interesting on her own either but I guess we’ll see.

They gave Paula Abdul a show on her too, a few years back, and it was pulled after a season or two. Zzzz.

  • Tim

Hated Kara on Idol. Now, Bravo gives her two shows? Desperate.

Did the Bravo execs see her appearance on Watch What Happens Live? She was boring as hell. I could see her hosting a competition show, but who wants to see a show about her life.

    • Nick

I agree with GA she was extremely boring on Watch What Happens Live. It was sometimes uncomfortable to watch. All she kept saying was, “I’m just here to promote my show…”

  • Robert

Kara is a talented song writer and has a good TV personality, so lets see how and her own show do when she is the front person on them

  • Mercy

Is she going to strip on this too?

  • Zeke

    She’s hot and I’ll watch

  • Dave

I doubt it will be as hilarious as the Bravo reality show that Paula had.

To the people who said she’s hot…its cliche but true that beauty is most certainly in the eye of the beholder. This show will be boring as she is a total bore and drenched of her displaying how arrogant and full of herself she is. I’m not sure why Bravo is doing this but its a waste of I’m sure a couple hundred peoples time. I’d rather watch paula abdul stumble around slurring her words and crying then this sour puss stomp around “putting everyone in their place” two thumbs way down.
