'Jersey Shore' season four in Italy gets premiere date

The return of summer’s biggest cable series, Jersey Shore, finally has a premiere date.

The show has been beset by challenges after relocating the action to Florence, Italy proved tricky, to say the least. Originally expected to debut in July, Shore will return Thursday, Aug. 4 at 10 p.m.

Plus, MTV just announced that season five is starting production in June, with the cast going back to Seaside Heights for the next round. To warm up viewers for the new season, MTV will air a one-hour special on July 26 showing the rise of Shore from buzzed-about new project to the highest-rated series in MTV’s history. The network will also release Jersey Shore Uncensored: Season Three on July 26. There you go, Shore fans, plan your summer vacations accordingly.

Season 5? Can’t they cancel this already?

    • Ap

I love the show but I agree with your comment. Seaside again?

A guy on a local radio station was recounting a story of a recent visit to Italy with his wife. While out for dinner, they noticed a crowd gathering and realized that Jersey Shore was shooting nearby. They went and had a look and it was Snookie shopping. Here’s the thing – they had CUE CARDS off-camera for her! We all knew it was fake and all of the situations mapped out by the producers, but CUE CARDS?!? There’s your “reality TV”, folks – as scripted as any CSI or Law & Order show on the air.

        Ronnie stop.. Ronnie stop..

  • Tvaddict

It’s sad that Jersey Shore is the most watched cable series. It should be The Walking Dead! Even The Real Housewives think Jersey Shore is trashy

    • Martha Quinn

@Tvaddict Dude, the cast of Jersey Shore IS The Walking Dead.

  • erin

It’s sad that this even rates a mention.

  • Brian

Bottom line is that the show is a trip. Britain is trying to do one and it’s terrible. USA got em beat!

    • Dave

So in your eyes, America should be proud?

      • Wha’ever

        Dave +1000 !!

    • AmericanExpatinUK

“Geordie Shore”, the British version of “Jersey Shore” has the same type of shallow, stupid, drunken and disgusting behavior as displayed on JS. The bragging rights remain in the USA only because there have only been a couple of episodes of Geordie Shore. However, since we also have “The Only Way is Essex” and “My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding” we are rushing forward faster than you think.

      • Ronnie

They’ve just begun airing “My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding” here in the U.S. Reality tv is taking over!

    • Tom

It’s not a national symbol of innovation or a source of pride to be a drunken idiot. They have those everywhere.

  • WAAAH

I guess the Asian version of ‘Jersey Shore’, “K-Town”, will never see the light of day.

  • Smallville

loL. Here we go with ”This show is dumbing down America.” If people think one TV show can dumb down a whole nation then let us take it back to the real world, Jerry Springer, Maury..etc.

    • Wtfff

If anything, i think the entire MTV network is dumbing down america

  • Allan

Please tell me this will finally be in HDTV!?!

    • Marianna

All the better to view Snooki’s various and assorted….. attributes?

  • jon

Know what? I can’t do anything about Americans being stupid in America, and so I just deal with it. However, please please please don’t send these walking embarrassments abroad and let them act up in other countries!

It really pisses me off when I see Americans making fools of themselves overseas and reflect poorly on the rest of us who may someday want to visit Italy.

    • Marianna

You can rest yourself easy. The Jersey Shore kids are strictly amateur time in Italy when compared to the life, times and shenanigans of President Silvio Berlusconi.

  • Wtfff

How much longer must the world be exposed to these dry fish sticks?

  • alicia

Jersey Shore is funny. People that criticize it never watched the show from the beginning. I didn’t like the show until I actually sat down and watch it when I bought the first two seasons. Its funny, that’s all. And entertaining.

    • Wha’ever

You didn’t like the show, but you bought the first two seasons ? That makes perfect sense.

    • Q

You actually bought the show on DVD? Wow, I wish I had money to throw away.

  • Rose

Please make this piece of trash show go away!

    • Marianna

You don’t like it, you don’t have to watch it. There. You’ve made it go away.

  • denise

I understand peoples opinions on the JS…but truth is …american kids or young adults do act this way.. infact take a trip to the shore …see it for uself. Nothing different. Except JS cast is getting paid. As far as Season 5 being filmed down at the JS… well the show needs to end where it began … go out with a bang JS!!!!!!

    • AmericanExpatinUK

It’s not just Americans. It’s any place with young people able to get drunk cheap and get laid cheaply. “Geordie Shore” (the UK version of JS) is the same. But take a trip to Ibiza or several shore destination in England (sort of like going to Cancun or Miami Beach) and you will see the same behavior.

  • PN

They sure must do these shows that quick. Used to be that 5 seasons meant 5 years, but don’t tell the Jersey Shore people that. They’re going to suffer from burnout with the overexposure. This show has had some meteoric success in 2 years on MTV. But I think they should keep the show on New Jersey’s shore instead of bouncing to Italy or Miami. You know some Italians don’t like the show or the cast.

  • Menchy

Having been at Seaside not 1 hour ago, I must say I am very excited for this show. Of course they’re dumb, but their funny/stupid adventures sure are entertaining. Team Snooki 4 Life!

    • thebitterlady

First of all I dont watch it but there always talking about it on late night t.v.Their showing clips or their on their show.I tried to listen to Snookie a couple of times talk and the dude that thinks he has the only 6 pack in the world.Their idiots and the only people that find them entertaining are idiots wanting to be rich idiots like them.Well obviously and unfortunately your part of a large group of idiots.Buy her book.Im sure its one you could read.

  • Michael

Now I’m definitely heading to Seaside again this summer. See you at Bamboo, Snooki!
