Glad to see some Fringe and Friday Night Lights love!

    • JS

      My thoughts exactly.

    • Dave

Yes! And some love for Justified! And Parks and Rec! And Community! These shows have been mostly snubbed by the Emmys and Golden Globes, so it’s nice to see these shows finally get the recognition they deserve.

  • Johnny

    Very happy for Fringe!

  • Dan

Happy to see Game of Thrones get a Best Drama nomination, but no Peter Dinklage? REALLY?

    • JKH

Seconded. Dinklage is amazing on GoT.

      • Jimmy

Peter Dinklage should definitely get a nomination. Maybe Emmy time he’ll get the respect he deserves.

His performance has received praise with Ken Tucker from Entertainment Weekly stating, “…if Dinklage doesn’t get an Emmy for his clever, rude Tyrion Lannister, I’ll be gobsmacked” and Mary McNamara from the Los Angeles Times stating, “If the man doesn’t win an Emmy, heads should certainly roll.”

    • Sylwia

Just so! No Dinklage, Bean, Addy, Lloyd… and others. Shame on you!

  • Sean

Yay! Somebody finally nominated Cat Deeley as best reality host….are you listening Emmy?!

    • glenn

I agree Sean, Cat Deeley is the best reality host on TV. I’m also happy that my favorite sitcoms Community and Parks & Recreation got some recognition.

      • Rob

        Yay Nick Offerman!

    • Katja

Seriously. I’m so torn though – does Mike Rowe get nominated for much? Because he’s an excellent host as well. So I don’t know which of them to root for now.

      • Nancy

I think Cat Deeley is great but Mike Rowe is so hysterical and fabulous on Dirty Jobs. Glad to see him get some recognition.

    • Nick T

      Finally!

  • Mary

Real Housewives of Beverly HIlls for best reality series? I liked that show a lot but I never thought I’d see the day it gets love from critics!

  • Jeff

I think the nominations are pretty strong overall. My only complaint would be Sons of Anarchy not getting a best drama nod. But glad to see Justified and Fringe getting some pub.

  • Josh

No Jeff Probst for Best Reality Host?! This category is a joke. Mike Rowe is the only deserving nominee.

    • 24yanks

Seriously. Where is Jeff Probst? And Survivor?

      • Icon

It was not a good year for Survivor. I understand it.

      • AK

It’s sad. The now-terrible “Project Runway” can still get nominated for reality TV awards, but “Survivor” is perpetually ignored. (And that the category is expanded, only to have “RuPaul’s Drag Race” as the sixth nominee, is an extra slap in the face.)

    • Untitled

I know, right? There’s a reason why he always wins the Best Host emmy! He’s fantastic, and hilarious.

  • elena

I wish that these Critics Choice Awards were the 2011 Emmys. Everyone I want represented (hollaback, fringe!) is on this list. Take note, Emmys!

    • Tiki

Agreed! If Emmy noms like anything close to this, with Fringe/Community/Cat Deeley inclusions then I will be beyond happy

  • Luna Lovegood

Real Housewives of Bev Hills?!?! LOVE IT. It actually was the most interesting Housewives. Glad to see it recognized.

Also, I love when Friday Night Lights gets some recognition. I will miss it dearly.

  • Christy

So glad to see some recognition for “The Middle”, the most under-rated funny show on television.

    • Kari

Agreed – and how happy are you that Sue Heck was mentioned specifically. Fantastic!

  • jules

Glad to see the Modern Family and Fringe love. And the fact that Glee only got 2 nominations.

  • jane

What are these and how are they any different from the Emmys?

    • Johnification

The Emmys are voted on by a broad “Academy” of past nominees, actors, directors, other artists, producers, etc., while the Critics Choice Awards are decided by critics and journalists. That’s why you see a lot more love for the well-reviewed, beloved smaller shows here.

      • ger

The Critics Choice awards are like the TV Nerd Emmys

      • Woot

Is Ken Tucker a member of the “Critic’s Choice Academy?”

    • Lisa

The critics actually watch a lot TV- The Emmy voters watch very little.

  • Bobby’s Robot

I wish the Emmys would have such worthy nominees!

  • Awesome

Any awards group that knows enough to nominate Archer for best comedy is good by me.

    • murley

exactly. i was happy to see a number of shout outs on here (fringe, parks and rec, etc) but nothing made me happier than archer being nominated.

  • Jose

Hooray for Cougar Town, Archer, Parks & Rec, Community, The Middle and Fringe

    • oliviersansau

hooray for Cougar Town INDEED!!!!! and Busy and Courtney are huge part of the show’s success. too bad the series wasnt recognized. there is always next year….
