CBS gives Rob Schneider pilot another look

CBS isn’t ready to throw in the towel on Rob Schneider, whose pilot about a confirmed bachelor who marries into a tight-knit Mexican-American family didn’t make the cut for fall. EW has learned that the network will re-shoot the pilot and has ordered a few more scripts for the comedy. If it’s good enough, it will join the net’s midseason lineup. (Yey?)

Schneider helped to write the pilot that’s executive produced by Eric and Kim Tannenbaum.

When Rob Schneider is without Adam Sandler, he’s hilarious. Might be worth a look.

    • Al

Yep, no matter how bad people say it is, I did enjoy watching The Hot Chick.
      Taquito!!! Rolf.
Adam Sandler was in that movie, but it was a cameo.

    • MysterWright

I adore this concept! Thanks, brother Rob. When this comes on I’ll definitely check this out.

  • Ethan

Rob Schneider was an animal. Then he was a woman. And now Rob Schneider is… A stapler. And he’s about to find out that being a stapler is harder than it looks. Rob Schneider is… The Stapler. Rated PG-13.

    • Smallville

      lmfao. I love it.

    • kate

Lol that’s exactly my thought!!! But really he is a pretty funny guy. I’ll check it out.

  • Ethan

Rob Schneider is a wall street executive, with everything going for him. Only problem is, he’s about to become… a carrot
It’s twenty four “carrot” comedy! Rob Schneider is, A Carrot! Rated PG-13.

Rob Schneider derp de derp. Derp de derpity derpy derp. Until one day, the derpa derpa derpaderp. Derp de derp. Da teedily dumb. From the creators of Der, and Tum Ta Tittaly Tum Ta Too, Rob Schneider is Da Derp Dee Derp Da Teetley Derpee Derpee Dumb. Rated PG-13

Can I just comment that my friends and I would make Rob Schneider fake movie trailers a la South Park for years after that episode. Still one of my faves. Sigh!

      • RMW

Same here. I hate to admit how often I say “tum ta tittaly tum ta too” even now.

  • kate middleton

This sounds perfect for Rob Schneider, and a good fit for CBS.

    • MysterWright

      Totally!

  • Smallville

In my opinon he’s not funny.

  • Dave

Ethan, thank you for the much-needed laughs.

  • Kevin

CBS doesn’t want to give Rob’s new sitcom a second chance at least it’s even worse for the network’s new sitcom “How To Be a Gentleman” and this Kevin Dillon comedy is one of the worst new shows on the Fall season. CBS once again has the last laugh.

  • Jim

Rob Schneider is now a broke actor, with absolutely nothing going for him. Only problem is, some network is about to bail him out with a show entitled “Mismatch Ethnic Comedy #25.” Rob Schneider is the luckiest man alive.

  • julia

i would love to see him on tv..he should have replaced charlie sheen.

  • reg

I thought by now we were all in agreement that “confirmed bachelor” was code for “gay but closeted.” Which I have to admit would be a fresh take on the sitcom format.

  • dgf

Who the heck wants to see him in anything…

  • Sue1

In the right project I think he could be pretty funny, so I hope he gets a chance. By the way, isn’t George Clooney a ‘confirmed bachelor’?

  • Toby

    You can do it!

    • Laura

      Hah!

  • Tom K

I love Ethan’s comments. Close your eyes and think ‘Swedish Chef’…
