'Torchwood' teaser: What does Miracle Day mean? -- VIDEO

Because we can barely contain ourselves about the upcoming Torchwood, here’s another teaser from Starz that serves as a walk-up to Miracle Day, which will premiere on July 8. It features the character of Oswald Danes (Bill Pullman) talking about what “miracle day” means to him.

Here is the official Starz description of Oswald: “Well-educated and a former school teacher, Oswald’s a convicted child killer, both guilty and unrepentant. But when Oswald survives his own execution, he’s given a whole new life. The most infamous man in the world, he becomes the most provocative figure in modern media. He’s a flare, reviled yet mesmerizing, whose very existence embodies how the world changed on Miracle Day.”

And here’s our description of Pullman: Freakin’ awesome.

    Can’t wait tick tick !

    damn!!!

  • Carrie

I am sure it will be good but it can’t be as good without the original cast. Yes. I am still bitter about it.

    • melisa

Captain Jack and Gwen are in it, and everyone else but Rhys was gone anyway, so it should be ok, yes?

    • shannon

It has the original cast – John Barrowman, Eve Myles, Kai Owen….

  • Chris

Captain Jack and Gwen ARE the original cast.

By the way, where did Captain Jack come from?

    DOCTOR WHO.

You know, the show that EW has completely ignored this season. The show that has one of it’s most anticipated episodes airing on BBC America on Saturday. But I guess all their time goes towards covering dumpster fires like the MTV Movie Awards.

    • kate

      Amen to that.

Doctor Who has been awesome this season.

    • Sharlin

I agree, a better improvement from season 5. I still miss Russell T Davies.

  • Shannen

    Agree with Carrie.
Yes Captain Jack and Gwen are in it & have been in Torchwood since it began but they aren’t the full original cast, ergo some people still miss other characters, thats all.

  • Pat

Still upset they killed Ianto Jones for shock value. Will not watch, don’t trust this show anymore.
On a side note I wonder if Jack and Danes will exchange about their child killer experience…

  • Cathy

That was AWESOME. They have some real star power joining up this time! Crap! CAN’T WAIT! I got chills from Pullman!

  • Aynber

Wow. He looks a lot like Robert DeNiro…

‘And here’s our description of Pullman: Freakin’ awesome’. So a pedophile is freakin awesome, that’s just sick!

    • Reuben

Wow, did you read the article? Try again. “Oswald” is a child killer. I don’t see anything in the article that mentions or even alludes to the character being a paedophile. ‘And here’s our description of Pullman: Freakin’ awesome’ quite clearly refers to the actor and his performance, not the character. From the titbit I’ve seen, I agree. Freakin’ awesome.

lalbruiz on August 27, 2009 What a ucriiulods thing they did. That car would had been better in the hands of a car enthusiast. I surely bet it would be in better condition than this heap of rust and junk. My respect to those who are trying to restore it, but for the looks of it better go and buy any used Belvedere, LOL.

  • Cindy

Yes Shannen, thanks for the clarification on the original cast. Also, this season of Dr. Who has been awesome, to say the least!!!

  • Mindy

I cannot get over how this is the exact same premise as the novel “Death With Interruptions” by José Saramago.
Having read that novel, I am sure “Torchwood” will have a plot which goes in a different direction. But still… That was a very memorable book. I wonder if the producers/writers read it?

Extremely heplufl article, please write more.
