'Parks and Recreation' star Nick Offerman to host the TCA Awards

Nick Offerman, “lover of meats,” will host this year’s 27th Annual Television Critics Association Awards in Los Angeles on Aug. 6, TCA announced today (in a tongue-in-cheek press release).

“I am mighty flattered to be invited to speak in front of a crowd like this,” the Parks and Recreation actor said in a statement. “The last time I was awarded such a privilege was in front of the Eagle Scouts disciplinary board, concerning what came to be known as ‘The Astonishing Cowsh*! Incident of 1987’ in Grundy County, Illinois. I presume this engagment will end in a friendlier fashion for all concerned.”

The award show, held annually in conjunction with the summer press tour, recognizes the best in television programming.

      It’s gonna air on REELZ a few days later, but you can watch a livestream on VH1.com the night its taped.

    Hello Shirley. Thanks for bringing this to our atnettion. This was a browser issue and was only a problem on Internet Explorer. The flyers displayed fine in Firefox. The problem has been resolved.
