This is having the opposite effect of what HBO intended I think. It turns out that I’m not at all psyched for the season premiere of Star Trek or whatever stupid war movie this is. I’ll watch the premiere because I’ve been a huge fan so far….but I would never have watched the first episode of THAT thing. Give me back True Blood!

No sh*t. This is really disappointing. I really wish they would go back to the books. This is becoming an entirely different story. And by the looks of this clip, pretty lame. At least maybe this season we’ll be spared the stupid “Jason the cop” storyline.

I don´t know why they have to show fairyland, Harris didn´t do that in the books because she thought it would be too cheesy, we have already seen enough of the supernatural world and now we also get thrown at a weird fairyworld.

I agree I was worried last season from what I saw and now I know I had good reason to be dammit I really liked this show!

  • marcus_em

Don’t worry it’s only the opening scene I do not think we are going to be in Faiery very long! There are wayyy to many other more important plot lines to follow.. I think this will probably be our only time in faiery land lol while I am fine with it I can also see that is pretty cheesy sci-fi channel made for tv movie looking … but hopefully they are just building up that the fae are not what we thought they were.. dun dun dunnnnnnn

  • Padraig

Sigh. It looks like a bad episode of “Charmed.”

    • Her name was Lola

Haha! I posted the same thing a few comments later. Bad timing I guess. I totally agree though.

  • DEXTERthinks

It wasn’t so bad, Sookie is a fairy so I think some backstory is appropriate and if there is conflict in the back story that much more interesting, yeah a little WTH? but It starts it off doing something new and I like that.

  • Her name was Lola

This looked like the start of a bad episode of Charmed.

Alan Ball likes to go off the grid once in a while. Sometimes it pays off (Lafayette, Jessica) and sometimes it doesn’t (Fairyland). True Blood is still one of the best shows on television. Let’s just thank our lucky stars that she’s out of Fairyland, and hope that any further fairy visits are few.

    • SLB

And sometimes it doesn’t: Jason wants to be a cop, The Hot Shot people being white trash crack dealers. Lets get back on track Ball.

  • DTO

Holy crap! That was terrible! No need to come back to this. BTW, et tu, Gary Cole?

    • Jim

      Lumberg!

  • MCS

What a joke. This is ridiculous. Sookie being a fairy is the worst thing that ever happened to this show. I hope this has a St. Elsewhere ending and none of this fairy stuff is real, because it is rubbish. As someone above said it looks like a bad made for tv movie.

    • Just a Girl

If you read the books you’d realize most of Sookie’s “otherness” stems from her fae blood, and most of the decent story lines in this show came from the books. Unfortunately, the producers and writers are slowly but surely ruining the interesting and intricate world that Charlaine Harris has created in her series. Shame on her from not reserving creative license like JK Rowling, or not using it if she has it and shame on the “tv people” for ruining such a neat cast of characters and well-written story lines. That said, I agree that this opening does look like a bad episode of “Star Trek” or “Charmed” and I wish it didn’t feel so “Lost in Space,” but it does. However, they have gone amiss before and have rebounded in other ways, as one person said with Jess for example. So, let’s just hope they don’t drive a stake through the heart of “True Blood” with continuous melodrama and stupidity, lol.

If this season plays like the Season 2 Manead storyline, I’m not watching. What, we get good stories every other season? Bad SyFy channel look to that piece. If they did this to fairies, I’m worried about the witches….

    • DTO

I checked out in season 3, although I tuned in for the finale. The whole faery plot and her disappearance down the lighted faery hole or whatever made me turn to my friends and say, “F**k this! I’m done!” Seriously boobie shots aren’t worth hanging around for this.

      • crissy

im new n im sry but if ur gonna base a moive on boobs n sex then u dnt need to watch it. if u wanna see a moive u base it on if it catches ur eye or heart. this true blood ive watched three seasons of it so far n i love it so what if they have faries n s**t its good if u dnt like it n all u can say is mean things bout it dnt watch it thats as easy as that.and as far as charmed that show is very good n sames goes for that show dnt like it dnt watch it.I think what their doin wit true blood is what their gonna do. And so far i like what they have done to it they need to stay on the right track like they r now. so far so good. thats all i have to say bout that.

  • Denna

WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?! Is that some kind of joke?! Those were more like trolls than fairies. Even the bad fairies in the books were PRETTY! Yuck. I can’t believe how stupid that looked.

  • Heather P

Wow, this is really far off the book. I didn’t really mind with Lafayette, Jessica, or the whole V thing, but that was insanely bad.

  • Sazra

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. Less fairy sh*t, more naked Eric.

    • ihatescreennames

      YES!!!!!! I second that!!!

      • Natasha

        WRITERS… People wants ERIC!!!!

    • Jessy

      Hell yeah! I totally agree!!!!

  • Typo

Does no one know their mythology anymore? Eating any food in Fae has always been a bad idea. On the plus side, now that Ball has used Mab Puck can’t be far behind!

  • to MCS

obviously you have not read the books or you would understand what’s going on.

    • Typo

Does the appearance of Mab mean AB is _not_ using Niall? I can’t think Great-Grandfather would stand for faeries trying to kill of his kin.

    • Heather P

I’ve read all the books. Sookie never goes to Fae in the books.

    • Heather P

Also, book 4 opens with Eric running half-naked down Sookie’s road. I’d have prefered that.

  • crispy

    Well, I liked it!

    • ak

Maybe I’m just simple, but I thought it looked kinda cool.

    • Irish gal

I thought it was pretty interesting…at least it ties up where Sookie went. Now we need Eric!!!
