'Damages' sneak peek: War and (a sleazy?) John Goodman -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

DirecTV sent along this exclusive little sneak peek of Damages that’ll bow July 13. (The Glenn Close starrer jumped to the satellite service after three seasons on FX). John Goodman (Roseanne) joins the action this year, as does Chris Messina (Julie & Julia), who plays a high school friend of Ellen (Rose Byrne) and a former decorated soldier who is now working for a private security firm in Afghanistan.

Nice music choice.

Holy Crap. This might be as good as the first season if we’re lucky!

    • Martha

So how do you watch it if you don’t have DirectTV?

      • Sam

…Download it on iTunes or other *cough* sites?

  • Eric

This looks amazing, I was so glad when Directv picked it up for 2 seasons. My favorite show

  • Shellibelli

so what happened to Timothy Olyphant’s character? I know he is on Justified, but wasnt he supposed to return ?

    • Dan

As far as we know he and Frobisher are in prison as a result of Season 3′s finale. But I always hoped Wes and Ellen would become an item. My guess is that bc Damages isn’t on FX anymore he can’t do another show on another network.

Great preview! Love Directv for saving this and FNL.

  • sascha

there’s a lot of skin just in the commercial. That’s more than all three seasons put together. And a lot more kissing and lovemaking.

  • Neil

Looking amazing, as usual. Season three was incredibly strong – the whole dynamic, the family theme (kinda loved that the effed up, crazy people we were supposed to hate kind of felt closer than every other family on the show, at least until all the crazy started). Love this show so much. I’m in the UK though, so I’ll probably be waiting a while longer to see it.

Great looking graphics. Looks like a movie trailer.

  • Amber

Hot damn. Very intense, definitely getting that Season 1 vibe. This looks to be an incredible season.

  • MJ

Am I the only one who did NOT like the music choice? It sounds very un-Damages to me.
The preview does look pretty good.

How can I watch it in Canada? Eh? (Seriously, how can I watch this from up here? … And the “Eh” thing was just for giggles.)

    • J

You gotta download it, or wait for the DVD’s…

  • Aisha

It sucks having to watch this “online” in Canada, but I will do what I have to do to watch. Looks amazing!

    • Amber

Online in Canada, online for everywhere in the States without DirectTV. I will definitely find the show through alternate means.

  • Kristopher

To everyone without DirecTV(Like Myself), Find a friend with it! Or go to the nearest Lifetime Fitness(they all use DirecTV….the one down here has the remote out for use…..)

  • Deborah

What is the title of the song and the singer?

    • Green

Love The Way You Lie – Eminem Feat. Rihanna

  • Lyn

Ugh, that looks like one big cliche — the blustery Goodman plays a preacher who’s reeeally a bad guy? (On TV, aren’t they all??) And the military torture a fellow who’s really pure & innocent?? Ho-hum. From “Damages,” I expected something more groundbreaking.

    • eliott256

Goodman is actually playing the “CEO of a shadowy military contractor being sued in a wrongful death suit over an incident in a war zone”.

Ho-hum best to not judge a book by it’s cover eh?

  • Jan is a fan

Did they ever show us the wedding present David got for Ellen in the box she wouldn’t open? I kept waiting to see what it was. Anyone know? Did I miss it, or did they forget to tell us what it was?
