Rescue Me star Denis Leary has agreed to develop and co-write an American adaptation of the British television series, Sirens, for USA Network. In a press release, USA described the half-hour show as the “humorous antics and dramatic conflicts of young paramedics” who “fight and shag their way through the darkly funny maelstrom of their lives. Behind the uniforms, the sirens, and the incredibly fast driving, they are three ordinary blokes trying to make it through yet another shift. But once they’ve finished saving other people’s lives, they need to salvage their own.”

Co-writing with Leary is Bob Fisher (Wedding Crashers).

So it’s basically Rescue Me in an ambulance instead of a fire house. That’s cool. He did an amazing job with Rescue Me so why not this too?

He did an amazing job seasons 1&2.
The show lost serious ground repeating it self there after.
His endless bed hopping killed it. W/ that face it just wasn’t believe able. A drunk he can pass for.

The UK show is just brilliant and so well done. It helps to have Robb Stark from Game of Thrones on it too! I highly recommend others to see it.

I’m suprised they’re already making a US version already, only three episodes have aired in the UK so far. I don’t think it’ll be a patch on the original, though I will of course watch it.

And Im an American saying this!

Rescue Me was basically The Job – Denis Leary’s cop show – with firefighters so I hope Sirens is Rescue Me with medics. Hope John Scurti – and as many former RM cast members really – is on board….
