Miranda Lambert will be making a special appearance on next week’s season finale of The Voice. Blake Shelton’s new bride will sing a duet with Dia Frampton, one of the show’s finalists. “It’s been a joy watching my husband grow so attached to his team,” she said, in a press release. “Truthfully, I am a little jealous that I am not a coach myself. I can’t wait to be a part of it.”

Does anyone else find it dissapointing that Dia is a professional singer? I really love Meg & Dia’s second CD (“Monster” is a rockin’ song). Not that I care about the integrity of “The Voice”, but I’m dissapointed that Dia would go on a cheesy competition show. Here’s hoping Meg & Dia survives this.
Well that’s the thing – Meg and Dia were dropped from their label…so I think Dia is just looking for other opportunities…similar to Javier. Hope Dia wins.
Maybe Dia wants to go on a bigger platform and perform for larger audiences instead of tiny clubs and venues. Maybe she wasn’t happy with the past albums she made and wants to break bigger by getting on a major record label. She can’t be stagnant for too long, so that might be why she’s competing on that TV show.
I have Meg & Dia’s albums and like the band and don’t fault her for coming on the show (she was invited after all). My only disappointment is she is the only one on the show who fails to acknowledge her past experience – unlike Frenchie, Javier, Vicci, etc. — and instead we’ve been introduced to her as a children’s book author (without giving us the names of published children’s books, assuming there are any). She’s trying to come off as a neophyte to the music business. So I’m a bit disappointed in her.
i’ve never heard of dia before this show, and i think 90% of the nation had not either. so just because she had a record doesn’t mean she had much of any advantage
Meg & Dia is a group! She is going solo now. so why not?
They’ve all had professional careers in some form or another. I don’t think it’s Dia’s fault for not acknowledging her previous work as a musician–the producers are the ones who package everything.
Miranda is amazing. Hopefully she and Dia will duet on “The House That Built Me” since I think they would totally perform the hell out of that song.
“House” is a major snooze; I hope they “perform the hell” out of a more spirited song!
And if Miranda was performing with Beverly or Vicci I’d say differently (“Kerosene” or “Gunpowder & Lead”) but Dia has shown that she doesn’t prefer to do powerhouse anthems or (to use your adjective) “spirted” songs in that manner so giving her something more out of her element would not benefit her in any way.
Maybe they’ll do an album cut off Miranda’s 2009 album that hasn’t got any airplay, not the typical hit single everybody knows. Just a song that matches well with Dia and Miranda’s dueting and singing.

Perhaps they will sing something completely different that Miranda hasn’t recorded. I hope all of the teams do that, and don’t perform covers of the coaches’ songs. There’s a whole world of music out there, and they need to choose the best song they can to win.
Dia is a major snooze, so the song would fit.
You are right–she has been snoozy the last few performances, but I think having Miranda will bring her energy up a bit.

I love Miranda and I love Dia. I hope they sing More like her… It´s a great song… The house that built me is great too, but it was singing in the show, I preferer a new song for the show
“Gunpowder and Lead” would be a good choice for this duet.
I don’t think so. Maybe another song would fit them. That Gunpowder song is one that ONLY Miranda can do and not sing with somebody else. I can’t imagine those two singing it together.

shaky live host, unncessary social media room, phony audiences and judges who don’t criticize
they aren’t judges, they’re coaches. coaches give you positive feedback after a performance. the criticism comes during practice.
because the contestants are good and put on creative performances. And Blake and Adam are entertaining if not critical
I’m not impressed with Carson Daly’s hosting and stiff, dangerously nervous, petrified look on camera (he needs to RELAX!), but I like everything else on the Voice, including the contestants and the celebrity coaches who do help them. And the audience isn’t phony–they’re really into the performances. And the social media room–how come Idol didn’t think about doing that this season?
Daly is just *awful* as a host.

Blake continues to amaze me on how much help he continues to give Dia (and Xenia). He truly is committed to them long after this show ends. Good for Miranda!

Oh, I like the “more like her” idea – a loud & fast Miranda song would not fit Dia.
Virginia Bluebell or Me and You Cigarettes would be nice as well but I’m not sure if they’ll do something that was not a single.
This will be exciting to hear. I wonder if Blake Shelton’s people and management snagged his wife Miranda Lambert to do the duet with Dia Frampton for the finale. Miranda is the right singer to match with Dia’s vocal style. Blake has been one of the most dedicated to his team singers versus the diva antics of Christina. The other is Cee-Lo Green. Christina’s too diva like and Adam sounds like he doesn’t want to be on the Voice–he’d rather play with his band or clip his long toenails or something.
This show is so much better than Idol, it’s not even close. More production value, better talent, judges/coaches who actually have a successful musical career and now Miranda, love it!
Yeah, I’ve always thought people like Paula Abdul or Jo Lo judging singing is like a one-armed man judging a pattycake contest, just makes no sense.

Seriously? What does Miranda Lambert have to do with the show except that she’s married to one of the coaches? I think it’s just a gimmick to garner votes for Dia, who is definitely weaker than Vicci or Javier. Are the other teams bringing in “guests” to help their singers as well?
The announcement has been made in time for the other coaches to bring in a guest if they want. Wonder if the song with Miranda will be an original song Dia wrote? Pat Benatar or Joan Jett would be awesome to sing with Vicki.
