Sarah Michelle Gellar is going to Comic-Con

For only the second time in her career as a geek goddess, Sarah Michelle Gellar is going to Comic-Con.

Gellar will star on The CW’s panel for her return to TV in the fall show Ringer. (For those who haven’t seen it yet, here’s the trailer.) She’ll take the stage along with co-stars Nestor Carbonell, Ioan Gruffudd, Kristoffer Polaha, and the show’s creative team. The panel will also give away a three-night stay in a luxurious hotel suite adjacent to Comic-Con (what every fan secretly wants — not posters or T-shirts, but the coveted hotel room upgrade).

The last time she was at the San Diego fan convention it was for her 2004 horror movie The Grudge. (Nope, not Buffy the Vampire Slayer.)

Here’s who else is going to Comic-Con this year.

Nestor Carbonell AND Ioan Gruffudd?? I am so going to watch this show now!! Oh yeah, for Sarah too…but YEAH!!!

    • Declan Rand

Oh come on, you have to be working for the TV show, I had to look those two names up just to see who they were.

      • ikagirl

Just because you never watched Lost (Nestor Carbonell) or Fantastic Four (Ioan Gruffudd), doesn’t mean the rest of us didn’t. Too bad tix are sold out.

      • Carrie Ann

        I knew who they were.

      • Chelsea

I’m pretty sure he/she knows who Nestor Carbonell is… the name Declan Rand was a character (played by Nestor Carbonell) on Psych.

        Wait for ittttttttt

    All Hail SMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Dave

      two feet and a heartbeat

      • Hal Jordan

…and tickets a year in advance.

    • Ha

Funny. She doesn’t even give a crap about a character that made her famous. She’s not going to promote Buffy or even want to be related to it, Buffy fan. I’ll pass.

      • matthew

um, why would she be promoting Buffy at this point? You’re seriously gonna be upset that she’s promoting a show she’s actually in currently? You’re retarded

      • luke

For one she has said in soooo many interviews that she looves Buffy and it was/is the best thing she has ever done… she does give a crap about the show and character…

  • Nick

EXCELLENT. Sarah is going to take the world by storm. Again. Boom.

  • Santiago

And every single question she takes will have to do with Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

  • Fabian

Man…I wish I could go to Comic Con. Oh well. I can’t wait for Ringer! SMG is great. This will be good publicity for the show.

  • Liz

Wow, it will be wild! She’s like the Comic Con Queen or something!
Anna Paquin would be now the Comic Con princess I guess, but Sarah, it’s really something big!

  • Selena Hudgens

Can’t get excited over some chick in her 30’s from some show from the last century. My mom might watch the show though.

    • Eric

Then why read this article?! You’re so stupid, her role was iconic and inspired and influenced many of the shows on tv now and movies.

    • Heather

Bahaha, you’re kidding, right? She played Buffy, she will -never- be irrelevant.

    • Liz985

Jeez, ageism much? With such a limited worldview you’re going to be cutting yourself off from some pretty fantastic stuff. Too bad for you.

  • Michelle

Amazing news! Love SMG! Can’t wait for “Ringer”. Plus, the men in Ringer are HOT!

  • A.J. Campbell

Why does every writer have to do a PRINCE AND THE PAUPER or EVIL TWIN scenario? Is it in the union by-laws? What channel is this on? Is it on one of the channels where the actresses get naked? Like Showtime? I would watch this if it were on Showtime and she got naked like on all their shows. Aren’t those shows awesome? The ones where the chicks get naked? If she doesn’t get naked I don’t think there’s any appeal for me to watch the show.

    • matthew

      ummmm…you’re really creepy
