Hawaii Five-0 has landed another well-known actor for its second season: Tom Sizemore is joining the CBS action-drama as a the head of Internal Affairs for a multi-episode arc.
The tough-guy performer best known for Saving Private Ryan, Red and Black Hawk Down will play a former Detroit Homicide Detective turned head of Hawaii police’s IA unit. After the events of last season, he is actively investigating the Five-0 unit and he’s not cutting them any slack (despite our heroes having the support of the new Governor).
The casting comes on the heels of Lost star Terry O’Quinn signing onto the series last week in a recurring role as a Navy Seal Lt. Commander who trained Steve McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin).
Hawaii launched strong last fall and represented one of the few freshman shows to earn a second season. The cast additions could help bolster interest in the series this fall as it continues airing in its competitive Monday night period.

Love him as an actor. Hate him as a person.
I’ll probably watch.
I liked the Hawaii 5-0 pilot and the finale was really good as well, did not see any of the episodes in between, but it seems promising
WOD rxd strength with 20lb DB.Did 4 rondus with 2 push press. But scaled the weight to 115. Was a little tired from this mornings workout. This morning I did a 4 mile road march with 60 pound ruck in just under an hour.
You hated the Tom who was addicted to substances, because Tom without them is a really great guy on all accounts. Drugs mess your brain up pretty bad. He’s done alot to try to get himself back in the game of life and it seems he is winning, thank goodness. Praying he stays clean so he can continue his acting career, because he’s so talented. Mainly hoping he stays clean for himself.
Did some acting with Tom recently and spent a lot of personal time with him. He is so clean now i find it difficult to believe half the crap the trades were saying about him. Tom is welcome in my house anytime and i cant wait to see him in five-o.
Glad to see Sizemore getting some work – he really is a great actor, and this type of role is perfect for him.
I hope he’s staying clean. Doubt he would be hired for this if he wasn’t, so that’s a good sign.
He’s been sober for over 2 years now! Good for him for actually getting some work!
I love The Relic: Tom Sizemore, Penelope Anne Miller & Linda Hunt best B movie of the 1990′s!
Yes The Relic was indeed awesome !
Loved him in Relic and Saving Private Ryan, hope he has once and for all gotten his s^&T together so he can go back to the great roles.
Fingers crossed everything works out for him.
Wow. I’m surprised they’re taking a chance on him. He’s such a mess and an a*s.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
The name is familiar but I can’t remember his acting in anything. But I’ll still be watching Castle live and DVRing Five-0
They probably should have mentioned Natural Born Killers. He played the twisted cop that was chasing down Micky & Mallory. Tom Sizemore will always be Jack Scagnetti to me
He was also great as detective Cody Nicholson in the movie “True Romance”
He was also in “Heat” with Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino and Val Kilmer. He was also in “True Romance”, the most underrated movie of all time. If you haven’t seen it, you MUST!
I agree that True Romance is possible one of the most under-rated movies ever. But Sizemore’s part in it is minor. He’s only in it once Bronson Pinchot gets busted near the end of the movie. Chris Penn is his partner and you almost forget he is even there
Glad to hear about this, big Sizemore fan. Sounds like a good role, not just playing some thug
True Romance was great, what a great cast, I like show The Killing but every time I hear Detective Holder talk, I’ll I can picture is Gary Oldman as Drexl Spivey
I’m happy for him and hope it helps him continue his career recovery, along with his sobriety. He’s been sober for two years now and is working hard to stay clean and make amends for his past. Good luck to him. I look forward to the role.
I guess CBS still owes him a gig after he killed RHD.
He has been out since 7/09
Did Dr. Drew let him out of rehab to do this? Cool!!
Having four dogs currently (and dogs all my life ecepxt in college), I certainly can appreciate this!! We have big comfy dog beds all over the house, although the dogs prefer the cream sofas, which I covered with coordinating blankets
Wow. Interesting casting. Good luck to CBS.
I truly remember Robbery Homicide Division the gritty crime drama that also aired on CBS but the show was short lived. Can’t wait what he has in store for the Five O squad in Season 2.
What’s cooking with Larisa Oleynick? PLEASE keep her in the cast. Thanks!
She has an option to become a series regular in the second season, which expires on June 30. No word yet on her status.
Oh, good, so maybe by July 1, I’ll know if she goes and I can keep watching the show, or if she stays and I have to quit watching H50 forever.
This is GREAT NEWS! I wasn’t watching the show regularly, but I will now that I know Terry OQuinn and Tom Sizemore will be on. Love me some Sizemore and it’s about time I see him in something. Can’t wait!!!!
Great to see Tom Sizemore. Great actor, so talented.
Great actor; loved RHD … terrific show! Hope he stays on the straight and narrow.
Good luck Tom!
