Imagine Cops crossed with Shaun of the Dead, and you have the premise for MTV’s new scripted horror comedy Death Valley. The half-hour series, which premieres on Aug. 29 at 10:30, focuses on a branch of the LAPD called the “Undead Task Force” (UTF) and their battles with various supernatural elements, like zombies, werewolves, and vampires. “Death Valley brings a truly unique blend of comedy and horror to the channel,” says David Janollari, Head of MTV Programming. The cast includes Lost‘s Tania Raymonde and The Hangover‘s Bryan Callen. Watch the (extremely gory!) exclusive trailer below.

It’s because they don’t have to bother putting out good shows when infantile EW writers will automatically slobber all over the show regardless.

Dear god, that looks horrible. Not a bad idea, but the execution (bad acting, crap production values) is way off. Nope, no reason to start watching MTV again.

I’m old, remember years ago there was a television show “Death Valley Days.” Ronald Reagan was the host. I can remember him coming on the show…sitting on an ass.
It looks too good I see it getting cancelled after on episode it being MTV and all.
This seems badass. Not for everybody, sure, but some good, violent fun!

Show looks amazing. Charlie Sanders is hilarious and Tania Raymonde is excellent. I’m actually looking forward to this.
