Get ready for another “beautiful” season of American Idol: Fox confirmed to EW that rocker Steven Tyler and “dawg” Randy Jackson are indeed set to return to the judges’ table for season 11 of the popular Fox reality series. This information was expected (as Tyler signed on for multiple seasons), and is somewhat consistent with Jackson’s claim on Lopez Tonight in May that all three judges would return to Idol. Jennifer Lopez, however, has recently stated she’s “on the fence” regarding her Idol return, thanks in part to her work with her new reality project, Q’Viva.
So let’s congratulate Randy and Steven with two copies of a thesaurus.

Jennifer Lopez is ‘on the fence’ about an ‘Idol’ return. Three reasons she should stay — and three reasons she should go.
Jennifer Lopez launches new reality series. Should she return to ‘Idol’ next season?

ugh.
Actually it just makes it easier for me to not watch next season. Sorry, but this past season all 3 of them were just horrid.
No doubt Lopez is “on the fence” until they offer her twice as much money. I’m surprised this season even lasted, who wants to watch all 3 judges say the same wonderful praises about all the contestants even the horrible ones. They need a villain on the panel…
I’ve reached the point that I am totally OVER any and all reality competition shows. There’s one on every night. I don’t care about people who want to be ‘stars’. No more Idol for me. No more!
I agree with these other comments. Amerian Idol has become unwatchable in my opinion. It’s a popularity contest and most people who vote must be about 15 yrs old. The Voice is MUCH better as these people have REAL talent and the judges are professionals.
I guess everyone has their own opinion, boring if everyone agreed, personally I am happy with their decision to be back.
I’m happy Steven is going to be there. I hope no Jlo–yuck.
No!!!
My reaction exactly.
My exact thought when I read the title. I wish they had replaced all of them!
I am so glad Steven is retuning to Idol. I never new him before, and think he is a hoot.I just bought his new book.I’m a 77 Yr.old grandma
Mark put it perfectly.
Honestly, what the hell else is Randy Jackson going to do? I think Journey is set on bass.
I didn’t like Randy at all but I’m at BIG fan of steven tyler
I’m with you HJ1263. didn’t watch half of last year’s shows because
of RJ and JLO. But Steven Tyler.. you’re the man.
oh yay…
Lopez would be smart to leave now.
Let me be the first to say “Cheryl Cole for American Idol!!!”. Ok, it won’t happen but I love the sound of it.
J-Lo’s career is rejuvenated since Idol and I can see her walking away but FOX has a conundrum since Randy didn’t offer a whole lot of actual criticism/feedback for the contestants and the at first humorous likable Tyler proved to be COMPLETELY USELESS telling everyone “I loved it man, it was beautiful”.
Get Cheryl.
This former fan definitely won’t be back for next season. X-Factor here I come!
hold the door open at x-factor for me please
BYE,BYE, JOHN AND LOUISE
Glad to see that Steve is returning, but I held out hope that Randy would not. This was the first year since it began that I said halfway through I was done and wouldn’t tune in for the rest of the season, and I actually didn’t. He serves no purpose whatsoever. Almost all of his critiques are the same over and over. Depending on who the third judge turns out to be, I may have to go another season without watching. I’m glad there’s now The Voice to watch.
They either need to tell Steven he needs to include actual critique next time or get a judge who will have the backbone to speak up when necessary.
Randy is in it to win it! (Ugh)
Randy is a session musician. It means he can read music and play bass to the notes given him. He is the ultimate name dropper and I have no doubt before American Idol, all those people he “played with” would probably not have recognized him walking down the street. The good judges have gone on to better things…Randy only has this. Once this show ends, I doubt you will hear his name again.
These two did great last season and i’m looking forward to watching as long as they have the talent equal to or better than they had last season. The performers rocked!!
I hope you’re just trollin’.
BOUNCE, I AGREE WITH YOU, I THOUGHT IT WAS A GREAT SEASON, WITH GREAT TALENT.
Yo, dawg. Listen. Listen.I love this, man. Idol did just beautiful and they’re in it to win it. Steven and Randy will take the show out on the town, round and round and upside down. Aight?
How in the hell could they be keeping Randy on? He was awful. Across various online boards, and across multiple poll-sites I’ve seen, I’ve not seen any support for that douchey wind-bag.
As long as enough people still watch the producers will remain oblivious to the fact that so many of us found the judging this past season to be worse than atrocious. Too bad that they’ll never make the effort to improve the show just for the sake of improving it.
Uggh is right. I am done with this crap show as long as Randy has anything to do with it.
So happy THE Steven Tyler is coming back. Now i will watch again. Why didn’t he get the sexist man of the year? We love you Steven!! Much
Erin you have a really sharp eye, he is sexy.
I LOVE ME SOME STEVEN MUCHES!!!!!
