Watch Jerry Seinfeld get ribbed by Ricky Gervais while singing about pumpkins on 'The Marriage Ref' -- VIDEO

What’s the best way to settle a marital spat? Communication and compromise? Sure, but that’s boring and private. Why not plead your case to a bunch of celebrities on TV? On June 26, NBC will kick off the second season of  The Marriage Ref, featuring a panel of famous guests that includes Jerry Seinfeld (who serves as executive producer), Ricky Gervais, and Julianne Moore. “You put Jerry and Ricky together, and it’s like taking two fourth graders and telling them to behave,” host Tom Papa tells EW. “Then you have Julianne who’s like the smart girl in class who also has that sly look in her eye, pushing them into more trouble.”

And trouble will find them. READ FULL STORY »

Charlie Sheen case against Warner Bros. will not go to trial

L.A. Superior Court Judge Alan Goodman ruled today that Charlie Sheen’s case against Warner Bros. will proceed in arbitration rather than go to trial, a ruling that will ultimately work in the studio’s favor.

Warner Bros. issued a statement reacting to the ruling: “We’re very gratified by the court’s ruling enforcing the parties’ arbitration agreement.”

A rep for Sheen had no comment.

Back in early March, Sheen filed a $100 million lawsuit claiming that Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre and the studio wrongfully attributed “the suspension of the series and termination of Mr. Sheen’s contract on Mr. Sheen’s alleged statements, conduct, and condition, despite the fact that Mr. Sheen is in compliance with his contract.”

Sheen’s team fought to get him a trial and had previously requested to halt arbitration proceedings; however, that request was denied soon after.

'Gene Simmons: Family Jewels' posts solid ratings following awkward 'Today' interview

Categories: Reality TV, Television

The spark might have gone out when it comes to Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed’s relationship, but Gene Simmons: Family Jewels continues to deliver some sparkling ratings. Last night’s season 7 premiere of the reality show attracted a total of 1.4 million viewers, which was on par with its season 6 premiere in late 2010. The number is at least in part thanks to press surrounding an awkward appearance on Today, during which Tweed regularly insulted Simmons, who she’s been dating for 28 years. Clearly, many viewers appreciate Schadenfreude, tuning in to see the couple’s “unraveling” relationship. See Simmons and Tweed’s interview on Today embedded after the jump. READ FULL STORY »

The dog days of summer are coming sooner than you think. On June 23, FX will unveil Wilfred, a surreal series about a suicidal former attorney (Elijah Wood) named Ryan, who sees his neighbor’s pooch not as a furry creature but rather as a rude dude in a dog suit (Jason Gann, who co-created the original Australian version of the show). To learn a little more about one of the more unusual shows to hit primetime in recent years, fetch a new issue of EW — and chew on these bonus quotes from Wood and Gann.

On Wilfred, Ryan’s questionable mentor

WOOD: There are motives, seemingly dark motives, underneath Wilfred’s directions occasionally, and then something will take a twist and pan out in a very different way than we expect or Ryan expects. Or perhaps he’ll take that path knowing that it’s not the right thing and then something positive will come out of it, which is always keeping it in question with whether or not the motives are genuinely pure or for Wilfred’s own interests. And I love that. There’s a real ambiguity. READ FULL STORY »

Charice talks 'Glee,' new album, and... shares her best Justin Bieber impression -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

Charice-Smile

There are a few striking qualities about Charice upon meeting her for the first time. Her tiny stature, her gigantic smile, but most of all, her ability to break out into song at any given moment. At first, it’s easy to get taken aback. In an age where auto-tune is an artist’s best friend, the echoing sound of a young pop star singing Beyoncé can silence a room almost instantly. Maybe it hasn’t quite sunk in that the stakes are high (a $100,000 cash prize! A recording contract!). Or maybe they’re still in shock that such uber-cool superstars like Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton are actually texting them notes at all hours of the night. Whatever the reason, the contestants’ mood before Tuesday’s live version of The Voice was oddly calm, cool, and collected.

But first, a SPOILER ALERT! Don’t move to the jump until you seen the results of the show. READ FULL STORY »

Everyone from Tina Fey to Chris Rock seems to have an opinion about Tracy Morgan, who made headlines after he made a series of homophobic jokes during a stand-up show in Nashville last week. Now Marlon Wayans — who co-starred with Morgan in the 2006 comedy Little Man — has added his voice to the fray. “He has the right to say what he says,” the comedian told reporters at the 15th Annual Webby Awards yesterday. “But he has to be a little more responsible and write a little bit and think a little more before he does it next time.”

“But that’s why I don’t like people having cameras in the comedy clubs,” Wayans continued. “Because you’re just throwing thoughts out there, and that’s the creative process. READ FULL STORY »

'Damages': Watch the season 4 teaser -- VIDEO

Craig Blankenhorn/FX

Twisty legal drama Damages is returning for its fourth season on DirecTV, which inherits the series from FX. This time, Patty Hewes (Glenn Close) and Ellen Parsons (Rose Byrne) team up to take down a private military contractor headed by CEO Howard T. Erickson, played by John Goodman. But expect big surprises — after all, this is Damages. In fact, Close says she was even in the dark about how it would all be resolved in the end. “[The writers] gave me broad strokes about my son Michael, the case and my relationship with Ellen,” says the Emmy-winning actress. “But how it actually gets worked out, I don’t know.” Damages new season premieres July 13.
