Former Twilight star Rachelle Lefevre has landed a series regular role in the upcoming CBS medical drama A Gifted Man.
Lefevre is joining the cast of the fall series, about a recently widowed doctor who begins to see visions of his deceased wife. She’ll play Kate, a doctor at the family “clinica” where Dr. Michael Holt (Patrick Wilson) now finds himself spending more and more time, pulled away from his own very upscale hospital.
Lefevre appeared as the sinister vampire Victoria in the first two Twilight films, then was bumped from the third due to a scheduling conflict with an indie film — a producer decision that caused outcry among some fans. She was also another TV medical drama –Â ABC’s Off the Map.

ANOTHER Medical Drama?
I KNOW. I was done after Ben Casey. Or was it Marcus Welby? Or St. Elsewhere? Maybe Doogie Howser? MASH?
TV Lesson 1: If it makes money, they’ll make more of it.
TV Lesson 2: People will still complain that they made more of it, forgetting Lesson 1.
CBS. GIVE UP the medical drama. You just cannot do it in a way that attracts a large audience OR pop-buzz. Just give up. But yes find something other than procedurals too. I still want “Old Christine” back.
I’m actually going to watch this show now. I adore Patrick Wilson and Rachelle LeFevre – she was the reason I watched Off the Map. Don’t be bitter about the medical factor – watch the talent, it is undoubtedly better than some popular nonsense currently gaining millions of viewers.
Scheduling conflict? How about a Ron Howard conflict?
hahaha! so true!
That “indie film” is “The Caller”, which I just saw last night at a festival. A great, complex thriller, and Rachelle is a terrific lead.
Big wolf on campus…
I used to like her, but she’s poison on TV shows. Every one I’ve watched and liked that she’s joined has been canceled soon after. I won’t even start with this one.
No thanks. They had their shot with Miami Medical last summer. Terrific show that they never gave a chance; buried on Friday with no promotion. Too bad really, would have been their E.R. (longevity-wise). They knew they backed the wrong horse with Three Rivers, but wouldn’t give anyone the satisfaction.
What is a “clinica”?
next door to unemploymentia deptmento
I am going to watch this show I like LeFevre and medical shows. I hope it has good content to keep it’s audience.
This show sounds like Everwood without the small town aspect.
This is the one with Jennifer Ehle right? I actually thought this was an interesting twist on your standard medical drama.
OFF THE MAP was horrible but GIFTED MAN is way more than that.
