Good news for those who choose their streaming service over their DVD delivery service when Netflix hikes up the prices in September (and for the fancy people who choose both): The company will continue to host NBCUniversal TV and film content after renewing an agreement, the companies announced today.
Under the multi-year deal, Netflix will continue to have prior seasons of shows like The Office, 30 Rock, and Parenthood available for streaming (on a one-season delay), as well as NBCU cable programs like Psych and Warehouse 13.
The news of the renewal one day after Netflix announced it’d be splitting its instant streaming and DVD services into two separate plans.

I hope this is just the first of many multi-year deals they sign on for. I will be keeping both the streaming service (for my Android phone) and the Blu-Ray through mail service

Parenthood has never been on streaming Netflix. When is this going to start?
Netflix will make a bunch of deals from now until the end of the year, they want those customers to stay.
They better make a bunch of deals with some damn good content providers, because frankly the stuff they have available for streaming now is pretty useless.
I couldn’t agree more. I’m dropping their streaming, the TV show are just not current enough to warrant $8 a month. And the streaming movie selection is old, older and ancient. I’ll stick with the DVD service because I’m too lazy to go to Redbox.
I cancelled my current service and just went to the streaming only. I still have TVDevo website’s service and get movies and TV for cheaper than what Netflix offers. So I’ll do streaming only through Netflix.
