The 2011 Emmy nominations are here: AMC’s Mad Men and ABC’s Modern Family led the TV Academy’s nominees Thursday morning, while two HBO new dramas challenged the pack. That is one of the toughest Best Drama lineups in years, in my opinion

    • jared

Couldn’t agree more, although I really hope Friday Night Lights finally get’s the statue. What an amazing 5 seasons it’s had.

      • jsf3.5

I agree. So happy to see FNL get some recognition, along with Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton.

      • Ron Burgundy?

If only we lived in a reality where Mad Men didn’t always get the auto-win. The Emmys are a joke. They ignored The Wire, Battlestar Galactica and, for the most part, Lost and The Sopranos.

      • Ron Burgundy?

^I’m not saying Mad Men’s a bad show though, it’s great. I just think other shows deserve some more serious consideration.

      • Veronica

FNL is amazing should win but won’t.
But what a SHAME about Shameless getting snubbed. Touches on just about every hard issue and doesn’t put a little bow on it like most shows. I think they handle the gay storyline very well. Joan Cusack is so amazing in this show. She is funny but yet you really feel for her as she is not trapped inside the house, but she is trapped inside her mind. She really delivers in every which way.

    • world sick

sure, if you delete dexter and the good wife and replace with justified and the walking dead.

      • steph

ooo I forgot about The Walking Dead! that’s a great show too! I’m definitely rooting for Game of Thrones, though!

      • Lyn

Omission of “Justified” in lieu of all the usual stuff is highly annoying.

      • Angela

Replace The Good Wife with Fringe, then I’d be happy.

      • Bigmouth

I agree Dexter should be deleted, but no way The Walking Dead deserves to take its place. I’m a fan of the show, but it’s got many, many flaws.

      • SJ

tough call but Dexter is still solid and deserves it. I’m OK w/ the 2 Justified acting noms, maybe next year a best drama.

      • Jeff C.

The Justified snub is a freaking travesty but whatever.

      • MJ

I can’t believe Justified didn’t get a nomination for best drama. It’s got 4 acting nominations (Olyphant, Goggins, Martindale and Jeremy Davies for guest star) and still they don’t get best drama?

      • DarkPassenger

Dexter’s the best show on TV, except for last season. I’m surprised such a weak, cliched season was nominated, though Michael C. Hall is always great, even when writers give him subpar material to work with.

      • j

I have always felt that the Emmys need a best scifi/horror/fantasy category. I think shows like the Walking Dead and Fringe get shoved aside because they have those elements and emmy voters refuse to take them seriously even when they’re amazing. Sad, really.

Where’s Supporting Actress in a Drama????

    • bsc

Best drama FAIL: where is Fringe? where is True Blood?

      • Lisbeth

Don’t get me wrong, I love me some True Blood, but it is SO not Best Drama material. Especially not last season.

      • kate middleton

Totally agree with Lisbeth. True Blood’s fun, but there is NO way it should be nominated for an Emmy.

      • HTC

What in the world do the cast and crew of “Community” need to do to get an Emmy nod?

      • @HTC

I feel like Community is going to end up like Scrubs, which never got any recognition besides for the musical episode, which wasn’t even close to their best. What a wonderful cast and great writing. How anyone could think Glee deserves a nomination more than Community, or even Louie or a dozen other comedies out there, is beyond me.

      • Todd

Completely agree about Community. I think it’s the funniest show on TV.

      • Bigmouth

No Fringe, and more egregiously, no John Noble. What will it take to get this guy a nomination?

      • Paul

Could agree more on John Noble’s snub.

      • Blame Leno!!

I’m so frustrated with the constant snubbing of Fringe but at least Cat Deely finally got the emmy nom she’s deserved for years. I have to enjoy the small victories.

    • Justin P

      Mad Men. Obvious choice.

      • Jill

But such a good one. You know another good choice: Mirelle Enos. No one else could have played that role like her.

    • LMFAO

Comedy actor: Steve Carell, The Office; Alec Baldwin, 30 Rock; Jim Parsons, Big Bang Theory; Matt LeBlanc, Episodes, Louis C.K., Louie; Johnny Galecki, Big Bang Theory.
      ———-

LOUIE should have been nominated for Best Comedy Series, but at least LOUIS CK was recognized. :-)

    • TN

      CONNIE BRITTON ALL THE WAY!!!

    • Alan

Mariska Hargitay, again?…..EVERY FREAKING YEAR??? Really?? And no Cougar Town love???

      • kristen

I agree with Mariska Hargitay. WTH? I just don’t get it

      • Ellen in NYC

I think Mariska Hargitay is the reason that SVU has always been my least favorite of the L&O franchise.

      • Evan

Probably you do not watch SVU. Mariska is great, a fantastic actress. Olivia Benson is addictive and exciting. And Mariska is still beautiful.

      • Amy

Same with Hugh Laurie. Every year.

      • bootsycolumbia

Evan, Mariska is indeed a beautiful woman, and no-one is saying she isn’t. But I agree with everyone who says she doesn’t deserve an Emmy nomination. Her acting isn’t all that great and it certainly isn’t Emmy-worthy.

      • Heather

No freaking kidding. Mariska Hargitay is such a marginal actress at best and they keep giving her a nomination. Is it rigged or something? Cuz the writing sucked and she is so way overrated.

      • jennifer

i agree love mariska but so over it already it’s like she’s just automatically nominated every year

      • jennifer

yea i agree cougartown is totally under rated!

    • bruno

one of the best seasons of noms in a WHILE. way to get it toegther academy! aside from the presence of mariska hargitay and the absence of community, i’m pretty impressed. go FNL!!!!

    • Wennie

goose2goose2 on January 26, 2011 @electrique527 @tsport100 know much about wind tiurbnes> ? No ..maybe do just a few minutes searching around, before shoot your mouth off and showing everyonewhat we already knew..that you don’t have a clue.the gen-set alone cost over 700 dollars try looking up the cost of an axial flux gen-set,then you might consider even finding out just what , exactly that is .

  • Vivi

I don’t care about anything else – Cat Deeley and “So You Think You Can Dance” were finally nominated! Woop, woop. *raises the roof* *cat daddies* *cabbage patches*

    • mark

      Well deserved

    • LostMom

I know — I let about a big woo hoo for Cat. She’s the best!

    • Kris

      Finally! LONG overdue!!!

    • jj

great to hearm that Cat Deeley finally is nominated! i hope she wins!!!

    • Mark

It’s about time Cat a nomination. She’s deserved one for years. She better win as she is the best host of a reality or competition program.

    • kz

      HOORAY FOR CAT!

    • McProphet

I agree, she’s the most genuine of all the reality show “hosts” and never seems to make the show about HER (cough..Seacrest…). However, that being said, we all know The Amazing Race will probably win for the 29th time, even though I can’t think of a single person that watches it….

      • Anna

Amazing race lost last year to Top Chef

      • McProphet

Yeah, after SEVEN STRAIGHT WINS. And that season of Top Chef that won wasn’t even their best. This past season of All-Stars was much more deserving.

      • Asha

I watch it! I watch it religiously! It’s awesome. They do a wonderful job.

      • Emily

I love SYTYCD, but the Amazing Race is a great reality show. The amount of work that goes into the production is amazing and it deserved its Emmys.

      • E

I love SYTYCD, but the Amazing Race is my favorite show period. I do hope Cat wins, but I think AR deserves all of its Emmys.

      • Rachel

I watch Amazing Race and LOVE IT! Easily the best reality show on tv. Although SYTYCD and Top Chef are great too.

      • Justin P

Easily the best reality competition show on TV? I think not. Top Chef’s recent seasons have been better. And, the most recent American Idol was better.

      • anon

American Idol was definitely not better than anything last year. What a joke!!

      • Harlow

I was upset that Fringe was once again overlooked, but Cat finally getting nominated helps a bit.

      • Rain

I watch every season of Amazing Race and love Phil very much. However, I think this time around the award should go to Cat, she’s terrific and Phil’s won plenty of times already!

      • tnsmoke

The Season Top Chef won for last year was actually one of their best seasons, the one with The Voltaggio Brothers, Jennifer and Kevin. A well deserved win and they haven’t been that great combo of chefs since.

      • ctkat1

In my perfect scenario, Cat Deeley wins best host and Amazing Race wins best show.

      • Juneau

@Rain – the only person who has won the Reality TV show Host Emmy is Jeff Probst and he deserves it. Phil will never win. He’s barely in each episode and most of what you do hear from him is voice over. Anyone could do that job.

      • @mcprophet

        Wow, we’re a little egocentric, aren’t we?
Friend, just because you don’t know anyone who watches TAR doesn’t mean it isn’t a fantastic show. It just means your world is a little deprived. No offense.

    • Brian

So excited!!!! Cat Deeley is the best host out there. She does more than tally up votes (Probst) or heckle jusges (Seacreast). She is the real deal. Also, the show gets nominated…icing on the cake :)

    • tjj50

Jesse Tyler Ferguson was prophetic last night! Hooray for Cat! Love her!

      • davey

I was scared that he jinxed her – Yeah for both Cat and Jesse!

    • Psac

      I second… err.. ninth this. Super-well deserved!

      • DancerInDC

I tenth it! Yay for Cat and the show!!!

    • bsc

      YES YES YES, SYTYCD

    • Karikata

Cat (SYTYCD) or Tom (DWTS) deserve to win for Reality Host. Those shows would not be the same without them.

      • K

Agreed. Tom Bergeron is basically the only reason my husband even tolerates DWTS when I watch it, and come on, there is no human being that Cat Deeley cannot charm.

      • D

Tom is very clever. Great host. Cat is getting better and better.

    • David

Agreed! I despise reality shows and she (and SYTYCD) recently surprised me to become the exception.

    • Westley

Good show Emmy jidges! Cat is the greatest!

    • Ames

      So happy for her!

    • Derek

Beyond excited for SYTYCD and Cat!!! Cat is one of the BEST hosts ever!

    • Gregory

      Cat FTW!

    • Regi

I’m stoked Cat finally got the nod!!

    • Eternal Clementine

Yay!!! Especially after Jesse Tyler Ferguson gave her a shout out about it on the show last night, now they are both nominated, so AWESOME!!! I Heart Cat so much!!!

    • Peh

CAT &SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE ALL THE WAY! YES YES YES!

    • Yayeah!

      FINALLY!FINALLY!FINALLY! She is awesome!

      • Lisa London

Having known Cat Daley for years as a young TV presenter in the UK, I’m amazed to see that she is so well loved in the US. Good for you Cat!

      • Katyo

I’ve never heard a negative word about Cat Deeley. Even on the internet, which now that I think of it has to be some kind of record. We LOVE her in the states!

    • Elaine Schwenker

I enjoy So You Think You Can Dance but find Cat Deeley very annoying…Who can explain why you think she’s deserving of nomination?

    • Betsy

      Me too, I totally agree.

  • Bob

I don’t normally care enough to post on things like this but I cannot believe the snubs towards Fringe and Community, 30 Rock was not that good this year and how can they justify giving Modern Family 4 nominations in the same catagory??

    • Mike

Love 30 Rock…but its time has passed. They all know it too.

      • user

dosagree. 30 rock had a great season. it’s a well deserved nomination.

      • jennifer

i do love 30 rock but i agree it’s time to step aside. also what about drop dead diva? that show is fabulous esp brooke elliott and margaret cho

    • It’s leviOsa, not levioSA

‘Cause Modern Family is the flavor of the month.

      • Vivi

OR because the show just boast of a very talented cast. One can not be nominated without the other. I’m sadden that the kids can’t be nominated. They are the best out there.

      • TBBC

Modern Family can die. I mean, that show is mildly ok, but… 4 Supporting Actor nominations? There are at least 10 better shows out there, and Community in particular deserved at least one nomination. In all 100-odd categories. The
Emmys are, as usual, a farce.

      • Josh

Modern Family is a very funny, very well made show with great performances. To shut out Danny Pudi so all 4 men can be nominated is insane. And Big Bang Theory over Community is like choosing Jay Leno over Jimmy Fallon. The triumph of mediocrity.

      • Viv

Yep there are a lot of other really superb actors out there. Modern Faily was very uneven this year.

      • kate middleton

Modern Family is good. But it’s absurd that 4 of the 6 nominates in Supporting Actor go to them. Some of the guys from Parks and Rec deserve it MUCH more.

      • Asha

Just looking at the supporting actor in a comedy noms makes me questions WTF the voters were thinking. Really?! Chris Colfer gets a nom for giving the same one note performance that he gave last year and Nick Offerman is nowhere to be seen!? REALLY?!

      • Marc

        @ Asha
The category is OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTOR in a Comedy Series, not OUTSTANDING COMEDIC/FUNNY ACTOR in a Series. Get that right. Colfer’s good. The only actor in the show with the passion of what he does without any embarrassment. However, I do agree that Nick Offerman should have been nominated. Gahh I still can’t believe 4 nod in one category for Modern Family.

      • bsc

Modern Family was just the best comedy this season.

      • Lyn

“Raising Hope” and “The Big C” are much more entertaining than most of the comedy nominees, IMHO. It’s irksome that the same faves keep getting all the attention.

      • @Josh

I love Big Bang Theory, but this was not its best season. Community soooo deserved to be nominated instead.

      • Miranda

This particular nomination is for best supporting actor not best comedy or best writing. If the show was uneven last year, it wasn’t because of the actors. They gave it their all.

      • Ames

The Middle and Community are my fav comedies. It’s like they have the best list before the season even starts.

      • Todd

It depends on your episode submission, if you at least had even ONE AMAZING episode, thats all the voters needed to see, they can’t watch an entire season of every show… so the MOdern Family cast chose wisely! Some people are great all year but don’t have that ONE episode (ahem Courtney Cox)

      • Justin

Look. Modern Family deserved every single nomination it got becasue its one of the two best comedies on television (Parks and Rec being the other one, in my opinion). However, Jon Cryer and Chris Colfer shouldn’t have been nominated. Replace them with Nick Offerman and Chris Pratt and that category would’ve been perfect.

    • Maserda

Agree. Show Abed some love, people!

      • TH

Troy and Abed in the morning!

      • JMM

Also where’s the love for “The Middle”?

    • Psac

John Noble not getting nominated for Fringe is unfathomable. Well, they didn’t do it the last two years, either, so I guess I can fathom it.

      • Doris

I feel bad for Anna Torv, but I feel even worse for John Noble. This is a travesty.

      • TQB

Really disappointing. Both of their work this season was extraordinary. Noble’s nomination is years overdue anyway. They’re both such humble people that I’m sure they aren’t as upset as we are!

      • Sarah

John Noble was cheated. Do these people even watch the shows or do they just nominate via popularity contest? He was brilliant!

      • psyche

Agreed. I am most sad for the lack of Fringe and Community love. John Noble was ammmmmmaaaaazing this year. Anna Torv I can see being a hard sell, because I think you need to be a fan of the show for the first two seasons to see how she knocked it out of the park this one (c’mon she had to do two episodes in full on Nimoy impression and make it believable)

      • harry

I wish Anna Torv was nominated, and she certainly deserved it, but not nominating John Noble is unforgivable. To play two characters, complete opposites, and not only make them believable, but make it believable that they stem from the same person is incredible. Even without that, his acting is unparalleled.

      • joesmom

John Noble and Anna Torv were robbed. Both were exceptional on Fringe this year, John Noble especially.

      • Kerri

Seriously, how many characters does John Noble have to play in order to get a nomination. This is the most upsetting snub, by far.

      • Ames

What’s funny is that every year, there’s talk on how to get more people to watch award shows. Well, instead of more musical numbers, you work on actually nominating the right people and shows.

The people complaining about John Noble’s snub are not crazy sci-fi fans. His snub is down right embarrassing for the emmy’s. Glaring proof they are not doing their intended purpose — honoring the best in TV.

      • passing

Anna Torv was great from the start, takes an eye to se that, if John Noble would have been limited to playing Walternate, things would look different for him. So he has been lucky for getting Walter, the character with all the best scenes, storylines etc Anna Torv had the bad luck of Olivia, a wonderful character but unusual for a woman. And this season Anna Torv was more deserving then John Noble, having finally gotten the material to show that.

      • TQB

@Ames, totally agree. Nominate people based on talent and people might actually tune in to see who wins.

      • CW

I’ve come to terms that Fringe as a show won’t be nominated. Terrible and wrong, but fine, I’ve accepted that. However, to overlook John Noble again is criminal. Wow…wow…just criminal. There are few better characters on television than Walter Bishop and the nuance, depth, and humor that Noble brings to the role combine for some of the finest acting I’ve ever seen on television. You FAILED Emmys…again!

      • Justin

Fringe getting no nominations at all is a serious injustice. Oh well, I ‘ll still love the show no matter what.

      • Marilyn S.

Once again, Emmys show their bias against sci-fi shows. It’s a shame Torv isn’t nominated, but I’m really disappointed that John Noble is snubbed again. Looking at the list, I could see replacing Josh Charles with Noble. I like Charles on TGW, but his acting isn’t really Emmy-caliber. Sigh. Maybe in an alt-universe, John Noble has a mantle full of Emmys. ;)

    • Marc

Nick Offerman should have been nominated instead of Jesse Tyler Ferguson or Ed O Neil

Looking at the lineup, I think Ty Burell (Phil) is going to win.

      • kb

I completely agree! I would have kept Ty Burell and Eric Stonestreet and axed Ed or Jesse for a Nick Offerman nomination. I can’t BELIEVE he didn’t get nominated.

      • no cars go

i’m also really disappointed about nick offerman not getting a nom. all 4 of the modern family guys getting nominated is ridiculous, the show isn’t THAT good. i would love for parks to beat it for best comedy. really happy for louis c.k.’s nom even though he’ll inevitably lose to steve carell.

      • Cm

Nick Offerman is the biggest snub this year as far as I’m concerned.

Also no Cougar Town or Community. Abed is livid.

      • Mocha

I’m disappointed too–he’s Ron Freakin’ Swanson, for God’s sake. The mere image of him without eyebrows should have been enough for a nomination.

      • Justin

I’m disappointed Nick Offerman didn’t get nominated too. However, he should’ve replaced Jon Cryer or Chris Colfer, not one of the Modern Family men. Modern Family was way too good to leave one of them out.

      • bootsycolumbia

Ed O’Neill probably was nominated this year because he wasn’t last year. Doesn’t matter; he deserves the nomination. The one who doesn’t is Jon Cryer.

    • PS

I agree… John Noble snubbed yet again.

    • davey

Fringe and Community (as well as Cougar Town) were the only shows names I was listening for this morning – NONE! Terrible!!!

    • greta

Nothing for Breaking Bad? Best show on TV.

      • bip

Breaking Bad wasn’t eligible this year because it took too long of a break.

      • Brit

It didn’t air any new episodes during the nomination period, which is why it didn’t have any noms this year.

      • daisy

best show on tv last year moron. It didn’t even air this year.

      • Josh

So what if it didn’t produce any new episodes? It’s still the best show on tv even when it isn’t. It must’ve made a webisode or a promo or something that was eligible.

    • Karikata

I don’t understand how those 4 actors of Modern Family are considered for supporting actor.I would think Ed O’Neil will qualify for lead. Is there a lead actor in that show? I think it was cheap for the show to submit all four actors in the same category.

      • fbdbpw

They’re considered an ensemble b/c there isnt an actual lead on the show. I on the other hand couldnt be more happy for modern family and ty burrell deserves to win

    • Strepsi

I agree, 30 Rock was too absurdist last year, not its funniest season: RAISING HOPE was far funnier.

      • Krystal

        at least Plimpton was nominated!

    • Deke

This is the second year that “Community” has been completely snubbed. It’s starting to look personal.

    • Angela

I know! I love 30 Rock, but this season definitely wasn’t their best; it was uneven and some of the episodes were too weird even for them. The real crime is Glee getting in instead of Community, but if I had to choose, Community would’ve deserved it over 30 Rock.

      • Josh

Both Glee and 30 Rock had pretty awful seasons. 30 Rock became the weakest of the 4 NBC sitcoms that actually counted.

The 2 best half hours of tv last season were Paradigms of the Human Memory and A Fistful of Paintballs (Part 1). There’s also the Christmas episode, the D&D episode, Troy’s 21st birthday, My Dinner With Abed, zombies, the brilliant trampoline episode and a hilarious cameo from Betty White drinking her own urine and trying to kill Jeff. No show is more high concept than this.

Community is a show for us, for today. It’s about what it means to be a part of a group, what it means to be an individual, what it means to grow old and what it means to come into your own. It has close friends have sex with each other and kiss each other and then shrug it off, just like real life. It has people dealing with poverty, people facing the end of their lives and people struggling to fit into a world they don’t belong in. This is The Tree of Life of tv shows, but instead of being super boring it’s the funniest show on television.

There has never been a show like Community before, and there might never be again. People would rather watch the Big Bang Theory and CSI and now going up against X Factor, I’m not sure it’ll make it to a 4th season. The Emmy voters have proven themselves worthless.

    • JD

30 Rock’s season was great, way better than last year. Agree the Fringe snubs are embarassing…no John Noble? REALLY?

    • SJ

Community was totally snubbed, you’re right. It is consistently reinventing itself and pushing forward with the ridiculous. Not even an acting nod for them!

    • Juba

Fringe doesn’t get nominated because the people watching the show recognized how cliche and awful it is after viewing the first six episodes and moved on to more awesome shows like Game of Thrones. If you could nominate 20 shows, sure it might make the cut but please remember that you can only nominate so many and its honestly not that great.

      • Erick

        - Oh Courtney, how have we not tlkaed about the fact we shared the EXACT same dream growing up? We should have been roomies out there in LA. Just to fail miserably at trying to be actresses for a year to say we did it And talking to you about awards shows must become part of our 2011 plans! (like, texting throughout the show!) My two cents:? I cannot wait to see King’s Speech. Love Colin Firth. He deserves to win. He was so good last year in A Serious Man that I think he deserves to win for two back-to-back performances like that alone.? Social Network IS awesome but I’m sorry, Justin Timberlake can’t act. He plays himself. That’s why he didn’t get a nom.? Winter’s Bone is SO good. SO hard to watch. I think Natalie Portman is a shoe-in, BUT Annette Benning was INCREDIBLE in The Kids Are All Right.? What’s up with The Tourist snagging noms? The trailer alone turned me off to that ? Angelina with that puffy hair and Johnny with that bloated face.? Ryan Gosling ? ALL THE WAY. I have been waiting to see that movie before I think they finished the movie. I want to see it that badly.? And here’s hoping I have the stomach for 127 Hours b/c it sounds incredible and I LOVE me some Franco.

  • J

    Kathy Bates?! Really?!?!?!?!

    • Chris

The Kathy Bates nomination kills any thought that these things are not bought and paid for by the networks. What a joke.

      • Liz

        Agree!!

    • Josh

      Emmy voters love movie stars.

    • Dan

Bates is a great actress, but this show and her character are mediocre at best. Obviously a political nomination here.

      • Dave

I love Kathy Bates body of work. But her delivery in Harry’s Law is so restrained and blah.

      • henry

I watched and enjoyed Harry’s Law, and I love Kathy Bates, but I agree. At best it’s a good performance in a dopey-fun show. It’s absurd that she got nominated over fantastic actresses like Anna Torv, or Lauren Graham.

      • Stevex

I love Kathy Bates’ body AT work! Rock me all night long, baby!

    • passing

Bates, Hagarty and Enos ??? Bates because the voters know who she is? Enos????Friends in Hollywood? Hagarty??? Oh we always vote for her, does she still act??

So instead of the great acting of Anna Torv , with all these characters and emotional rollercoaster, it means nothing. If she would ever want an Emmy, restrain yourself play a boring cop/lawyer, add layers of make-up and preferably feminine clothing , and please do one very typical woman tearjerker scene in 1 episode, it is all it takes. see all 6 nominees.

If you want to be recognised by those who appreciate great acting continue to play wonderful introverted, difficult to read women, like Olivia Dunham, played by Anna Torv.

  • Buffy Freak

Glad to see FNL, Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton repeat their nominations. Also thrilled to see Parks & Rec and Amy Poehler score noms.

    • E

I agree. I just wish Nick Offerman was there, too. Ron Swanson is my hero.

      • Brick

They could have nominated Offerman, Pratt and Scott. Parks and Rec’s cast is just as – if not more – funny as Modern Family’s.
Strangely enough, though, I’m glad Rob Lowe didn’t swoop in and steal a Best Actor nod when he was CLEARLY more supporting than any other guy on the show.

  • Jim

Louis CK! Heck yeah. My opinion of the Emmy voters just skyrocketed.

    • Zee

      YAY louie!!!

    • ogreslayer

So glad to see the nom for Louie. Best comedian working today & damn good on his show too.

  • Woot

No Community? Really? The Office had such an uneven season… ridiculous. Does the academy just hate Community or something?

    • TBBC

Agreed. Community got completely ignored by the voters in EVERY category. I guess there were too many write-ins for Cheers for it to get on.

      • Brownhound

Not even for writing. It just boggles my mind. Community is the best comedy on TV.

    • Anne

Yeah, it’s all kinds of ridiculous that Community was completely shut out. I am seriously suspecting that the Academy has something against Dan Harmon, because Community was genius this year. And I mean, Glee??? Really?? I thought it was a universal truth that last season was a horrendous, inconsistent mess! Do they Emmy voters even watch the shows that they vote for???

      • Tony

“Glee” does not belong in the comedy category. Its best moments (especially Chris Colfer’s) are dramatic. Jane Lynch is great, but she didn’t have much to do this season. I think Gwyneth Paltrow actually had more screen time than Lynch did.

  • Kevin

    Parenthood….la sigh

    • Vivi

Not only “Parenthood” but “SouthLAnd”, too. :o( Maybe next year?

      • Elaine Schwenker

Parenthood is my favorite!!!! Many good candidates unrecognized…

    • Brady

Seriously! All of the actors on that show are deserving of an award, let alone a nomination.

    • Will

I’m with you all. Mae Whitman? Peter Krause? Lauren Graham? So deserving!

      • Kevin

        Monica Potter….Craig T Nelson….Erika Christensen…

      • jennifer

        parenthood shoud’ve got something

  • Gary

    Olyphant for the win!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Liz

I know! Finally some love for Justified. Also love the Walter Goggins nom, and I can’t think of anyone more deserving of the supporting actress than Margo Martindale.

      • kaytee

I agree 1000%. Margo Martindale was nothing short of fantastic last season.

      • Ally

YAYYYY for all 3 of them!!!

      • tickles

I am more excited about Mags (Margo Martindale)being nominated than any other nomination. She was fantastic!

      • Amy

I don’t actually watch Justified, but as a fan of his when he was on Lost, it just makes me really happy to see Jeremy Davies get a nomination, even if it’s just for a guest spot. And I’m happy for people who do watch Justified that it got recognition.

      • fg

While very upset about John Noble and Anna Torv, I was very excited by the Justified love. Can’t believe they actually nominated Margo Martindale as a supporting actress for her wonderful performance even though it only lasted a season.

    • ree

Yes! I just wish Justified would have been nominated for best drama. It is such a good show.

      • jennifer

yes justified is a really good show

  • Buffy Freak

    It wasn’t passed over.

    • Julz

      For Best Drama it was.

    • JaxDad

No it wasn’t. EW screwed up. FNL did get the nomination. It won’t win, but it got the nomination.

    • Buffy Freak

It was nominated…I watched the noms read live on GMA. Tucker’s list left it off for some reason.

    • Mary

It wasn’t passed over for Best Drama…it was nominated. EW need to get on the ball and add it! Sloppy…

  • MB

    I agree 1000%.

  • McProphet

Mad Men again??? I just know I’m gonna see a 30 Rock and The Office nomination any minute now….

  • Buffy Freak

What was Joshua Jackson laughing about the whole time?

    • sara

I didn’t actually see the announcements, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he was laughing because of the seriously egregious Emmy snubs for his show and two cast mates. Fans of the show have expressed their outrage of previous snubs, and were very very hopeful that even though the show is admittedly show, it’s entertaining and extremely well acted.

  • Cait

PS- FNL was nominated for Best Drama.

WTF no nomination for Community or Nick Offerman? WTFFFFF?

  • Buffy Freak

It was nominated….Ken needs to edit his list.

    • Mike

Or James…but yeah it was definitely nominated, I heard it on the live streaming.

    • Buffy Freak

      Oops…you’re right…James not Ken!

    • Mike

I can’t believe they still didn’t update it!
