Striking new photos from TNT’s Dallas reboot: Here we have both the new generation of oil business Ewing family along with the cast members returning from the 1980s original hit. The show debuts next summer. Photos are on loan from DallasTNT.com exclusive to EW:

I dunno about the casting! I would have preferred if the boys stolen from Desperate Housewives were older and a lot less “pretty”. They look like kids and it’s kind of hard to take them seriously.

Weird. Because Patrick Duffy got almost the same response in 1978 by some TV critics.
Oh please. It’s DALLAS. It’s a soap opera. A remake of a sudsy, shoulder padsy, 80s soap opera.
Well I don’t know if I would have ever classified Patrick Duffy as a “pretty” man. These two new guys look like they belong on Gossip Girl, not Dallas. I would have liked to see more mature looking men.
Nothing against Jesse Metcalf, but his casting brings a cheesy factor to the show now. Fire the casting director! I want and need for this show to go well but it’s going to be hard with those two pretty girls…errr…boys.

I’m so sick of all the negative comments on here. I, for one, am thrilled that a network finally has the balls to put a gay soap opera on the air.

Please do something about Larry Hagman’s eyebrows – they scare the sh*t out of me. May be a reason I turn the show off.
He’s JR Ewing. He can do whatever he wants.
I hate to sound petty, but I almost agree with you. Those eyebrows are gross and a huge turnoff!

Why is everyone either “young and hot-looking” or old and/or plastic looking? I don’t remember how it went the first time around but it seemed more balanced. Shouldn’t there be a generation in between these two?

The cast has no one under 25 and I don’t see plastic in the faces of Larry, Linda or Patrick. The photos are obviously photo shopped as you see in the irritating colors too. Since they’ve filmed only the pilot so far there is enough room for the 40-50 years old in the series.

I agree. JR is the best. I loved the show and so did all my friends. We had a Dallas Party as we did in the old days. Anyone under 40 doesn’t get it. They are too critical.

so if what you say is true, then that must be so true about the remake of so just watch the original(and the soundtrack too) one with kevin bacon, but I dont think it will be true about the NEW Dallas ,remember this new version show has 3 of the original lead cast members, the remake of Footloose has none of the original cast members and the soundtrack has different artist (some I never heard of,unlike the original)on it,listen to someof the some songs ,they suck especially blake sheltons version of footloose its a uptempo song ,blake sang /danced the song (watch the video) like it was a slow/midtempo song and as if he didnt/couldn’t know how to dance in other words he couldn’t…CUT LOOSE!

I was going to probably pass on this show anyway, but now especially since TNT had to kill Men of A Certain Age just to give Dallas a slot. Victoria Principal was wise to pass on this reboot.

This is nonsense TNT has not even filmed the series. They have only the pilot!!! And they don’t schedule broadcast dates one year ahead. Men of Certain Age was canceled for low ratings. Happened to DALLAS too in the past.

that’s Brenda Strong, playing Bobby’s latest wife. Maybe we’ll find out what happened to Pam…
Brenda Strong. She narrates Desperate Housewives, and occasionally appears in flashbacks to when her character, Mary Alice, was still alive. She also played a recurring character on Seinfeld, Sue Ellen Mischke, the heiress to the Oh Henry candy bar fortune, and wore a bra as a top on one memorable episode. Since Victoria Principal passed, she probably plays Bobby’s second wife.
Don’t you mean Bobby’s third wife. Bobby did marry April Stevens during the final season on CBS, but she was killed off via some oil terrorists who were lead by Susan Lucci!
