Snow White. Prince Charming. Rumpelstiltskin. What if they weren’t just characters inhabiting the well-worn pages of a children’s fairy tale book, but had been ripped out of the Enchanted Forest by the Evil Queen and sent to present-day, small-town Maine, where they were living as ordinary folks, sadly unaware of their real identities? Hey, it could happen! And it totally does in Once Upon a Time, an ambitious fantasy family drama debuting on ABC in October. In this new trailer, the Queen (Lana Parrilla) wedding-crashes the nuptials of Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Prince Charming (Joshua Dallas), vowing darkly: “I shall destroy your happiness if it’s the last thing I do!” (If only Trina Decker were still around to slip something in her drink to mellow her out.) You will also meet a rather chilling Rumpelstiltskin (Robert Carlyle), who foretells of eternity-suffering doom-’n'- gloom unless Snow White and Prince Charming’s daughter, Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison), can somehow save the day, which probably should involve getting ‘Stilt a spa day.
Is your interest piqued yet? Take note of the five words that attack the screen toward the end of the trailer, one-by-one: FROM. THE. WRITERS. OF. LOST. (More specifically: Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz.) And wait a sec — was that a close-up of an eye opening? You guys! Jack’s alive! Okay, not really, but… similar eye color! Check out the action below, and if you’re heading to San Diego for Comic-Con, the Once pilot episode will be screened on Saturday afternoon, followed by a Q&A with the cast and producers that’s moderated by Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof.

looks really bad…
It looks awful and Jennifer Morrison just makes it worse.
Why don’t you just leave? No one likes hate-spreading idiots.
My opinion. If you are a super fan of Once Upon a Time or Jennifer Morrison and don´t want to read negative comments is not my problem. Not everybody likes the same things you like, do you know?
@Charet…and not everyone likes to take dumps on things that people like or want to like just because they can. If you don’t like something, move on. I don’t go to the tractor pull rallies and vocalize my dissent just for the sake of doing so. Let people like what they like and MOVE THE EFF ON. My opinion.
As far as i know this site is open to different opinions. Since i was respectful and i didn´t insult anyone i can say whatever i want. I didn´t see any rule that force people to post only possitive comments.
I thought it looked interesting enough to give an initial look. I love Gennifer Goodwin. She’s a cute, pixie of a woman. Best smile in Hollywood.
Look like bait for a lawsuit from Warner Bros. Far to similar to DC Comics/Vertigo’s “Fables” series, without any of the snarkiness and vivid re-imagining of the fairy tale characters.
Looks awesome!
It should also be pointed out that Rumpelstiltskin is played by Robert Carlyle (Trainspotting.) He’s pretty bada$$.
Agree.
I’m scared to get invested. ABC roped me into watching The Gates and then canceled it. This would have been much better as a SyFy show.
Sounds like the Sisters Grimm series (young adult novels) — might be fun!
Total ripoff of Fables. Only Fables is great and this looks not great. No bueno.
I think it looks interesting, unfortunately I don’t trust network TV enough to invest time in a serial style program. Maybe I will DVR it and see if it sticks.
Guess it will wait until the next three months(October 23rd that is) when the series debuts but is this really a ripoff of LOST? I mean it’s like the island in a fairy tale world.
A ripoff of Lost? Are u an idiot?
Then why use the iconic eye opening image ?
Stealing from LOST not good.
They have the same director thats prolly why they have eye opening image
Okay: Ginnifer Goodwin AND Jennifer Morrison, i’m there, plus this looks good enough to at least check out, especially for a Sunday show. As long as it doesn’t air at the same time as The Good Wife,I’ll be there! I’m still hesitant about new shows though, i’m afraid to get hooked and then have to deal with cancelation…
“From the writers of Lost” has me hooked. Plus I just LOVE Ginnifer Goodwin.
Well since it’s Disney(Marvel Comics), I doubt they’d want to do Fables(DC/Time Warner). Still, somebody needs to do Fables as a series. Done right it would be fantastic.
ABC took a hard look at Fables in 2008. It was widely reported. This is a pretty flagrant rip-off.
It’s not like Fables isn’t known to the guys behind the scenes, either. It’s won at least 14 Eisners, has 16 trade paperback volumes (and counting), and has been widely praised critically since 2002.
I think that press outlets should be screaming from the rooftops about this. It’s not coincidence. ABC looked at someone else’s property, and did an end run about having to pay DC, Warner, and Bill Willingham.
Exactly! ABC (aka Disney, the Evil Empire) saw it, they liked it, and, like they have many times before, they stole it from it’s creator, Bill Willingham. A well-done adaptation of Fables would have helped bring the comics series to a wider audience. This cheaply-done sham will just taint the TV waters, keeping any proper attempt from happening for years.
Anyone remember “The Charmings”?
LOVED the Charmings! We watched every episode. That was the first thing I thought of when I saw this.
I was wondering if anyone else actually WATCHED that show!
Nah! Jennifer Morrison delivered her line in her usual monotone with no facial expression. I’m sure she would be OK in some shows but this character needs to be believable. I’m sure she’s a great person though.
Um, wtf?! Are you blind?! She’s better than many other actresses out there.
Please don’t bother replying to these kinds of comments. That particular fan group has already promised (on Ausiello’s site) that they were going to do this very kind of thing on anything of Jennifer Morrison’s. These kinds of hostile acts have brought their fandom lots of negative attention on many forums in the last two months. Please don’t respond in kind. Trust that TPTB on these shows are already aware of that problem.
That´s one of the things that bother me the most. Her lack of facial expresions. How can i believe in her character if her face doesn´t make me believe what her mouth is saying?
Some people have a very sad life because they have nothing better to do then join the comment section of every article about a show who is staring an actress they don`t like only to spread hate. It`s really sad.
So the fact that i don´t like Jennifer Morrison´s acting means i don´t have a life? Yeah, right.
”Some people have a very sad life because they have nothing better to do then join the comment section of every article about a show who is staring an actress they don`t like only to spread hate. It`s really sad.”
Yes, right. LE fans bashing her everywhere
”So the fact that i don´t like Jennifer Morrison´s acting means i don´t have a life? Yeah, right.”
Bitter LE fans don’t have a life, unfortunately
Looks like another overly pretentious ABC show without substance. Thanks, but I’ll pass.
Jennifer Morrison bores me to tears. If she won’t hog the screen for too long, I might give it a try, otherwise – no, thanks.
Plus her character is named Emma Swan. There’s about 12 reasons to gag for that alone. (I’ll give you 2: Ugly duckling becomes a . . ., and the obvious Twilight association with Swan. Ick.)
Agree. She is always boring. It´s like she does it on purpose.
LE envious fans bores me to tears. All bashing is so pathetic, do you understand nobody believes you?
