Heidi Fleiss launching reality show about ... parrots?

Tags: , News

So. This just happened: Animal Planet is teaming with Heidi Fleiss for a reality show about parrots. Seems the former Hollywood madame has 20 macaw parrots. And that’s worth a TV show, right?

Here’s the must-read official series description: “With her home covered in bird poop and monthly bills for the birds soaring into the thousands, the former madam must balance her need to tend to the birds at home with the necessity of leaving them to earn a living outside of it. With multiple businesses and jobs to focus on, Fleiss spends her days shuttling from the laundromat she owns, to the doggie daycare she is set to open. But, as the anxiety at being away from her birds increases, and the pressure to hire a staff to care for them rises, will the stress of life drive her back to drugs?”

The title is Heidi Fleiss: Prostitutes to Parrots — because you gotta work the big pimping in there somehow. “I never, ever thought that I would end up here, but everything happens for a reason,” Fleiss says. “[Today] some people call me a crazy lady who plays with birds. It’s been a crazy way to reinvent myself, but I love these birds and I will be successful.”

The show debuts July 31. What do you think, readers: Will you tune in to see if bird poop causes Heidi Fleiss to relapse? Will she resort to pimping out her birds?

I love parrots. I love reinvention. I love surrealism. I may have to watch.

She looks used up and worn out. Supreme skeez.

  • undecided

I think most people will tune in to see if she pimps out the parrots

  • Nick

This sounds like the worst idea EVER. Wow.

    • James

…which makes me want to tune in.

  • ryan

I kept waiting for the “Nah just teasing” punch line, but it never came…

  • DJ

    How stupid.

  • Will

parrots, poop, and prostitutes. I love all these words!

  • Suzi

Wow – I’m beginning to wonder if all these reality shows are causing people to become crazier so they can get on TV!

  • Clete

What an idea. I can only guess what the pitch was..I have an idea for an ex-madam who has twenty parrots who poop all over her house and this causes stress. She has to juggle and generate enough money to keep the parrots in bird seed, so they can continue to poop.

Maybe we should all back off and give Heidi a chance to get her life back on track. She has paid for what she did and I’m always told America (I’m from England) is the fairest country in the world. Really? Then lets prove it and wish her well.

Charles…. you have a heart and I agree that Heidi should be given a chance. She has served her time, and is trying to get her life back together. People need to give her a chance.

She left Celebrity Rehab because of her worry over the birds (and perhaps to get high). I hope the show works, she makes money, and takes care of the birds. That’s all I care about.

  • Shorty

    What a load of crap.

I need a meeting with Animal Planet. I have twenty elephants that I keep in the house. I haven’t been able to open the door in months.

  • Katyo

I miss the days when Animal Planet (and all the Discovery channels, History channel, etc) actually played educational shows instead of a bevy of reality crap. Are we really this lacking in attention spans that learning about the natural world no longer appeals to us?

      ^^^=-like a million times…

Looks to me that Heidi has her priorities straight right down to her clothes for birds, to telling her inter most secrets to her “Bubbie” bird. We my not have the same additions she’s had, but we have some secrets that can only be told to our closest companion..ie:..her birds. I have 2 birds that OWN ME, & two foster birds that were scaped up & feed & vet and etc., that will be going to a FOREVER home at the end of the month. I understand hurrying home, & leaving the birds free & having one of them on my bed & talking to them. I’ve been there!
My husband went thu Parkinson’s, mental instability & dementia before he died. My Gray was with me, but he, my husband, was jealous of the attention I payed to the gray & I went to the Dog shelter to get him a small lap dog, but instead found a U-Haul box out by the trash can with a small cockatoo in it. The cockatoo stayed by my husband side as long as he was with us. A faithful bird for 2 years to a person who was only about half there most of the time.
Don’t underestimate the power of parrot. A truer love than anything a human can approach.

      • Squishmar

I love my parrots too. They are the best. Sorry to hear about your husband….

  • Madeleine

    Another PETA brainchild.

She did her crime and then her time. The government got the Mustang Ranch, lost $$$$ and had to close it down. If they are going to hire her to do anything, why not put her in charge there and bring it back into the black! Any thing she does to help us can’t be bad. if she gets a big following and goes AR, that might not be good. I’m simple, all I want is for good things and stories that are true will be feacher rebuttals.
