Adam West and Burt Ward, the caped crusaders of the classic 1960s Batman TV series, reunited at EW’s Comic-Con lounge ahead of their appearance (along with co-star Julie Newmar) at the Hub’s SDCC panel on Friday evening. The dynamic duo spoke with EW’s Darren Franich about the difference between their television show — celebrating it’s 45th anniversary this year — and the tentpole Batman movies, and revealed some of their favorite villains from the series. Watch the interview below.

haha, they are so funny.
tat kid/interviewer needs to go back to the mail rm! he’s worse than Ryan Sycrest.
I think West was offended by some of the questions…especially that last one. Not the best interviewer for the job, sorry.
Burt Ward used to be such a hottie. Adam is still full of himself.
You have that backwards. I met Adam @ a con, & he was great. Burt has a HUGE ego.
Well you can’t tell it from that clip.
You must have caught Adam on a good day because he is an SOB in the first degree, and Joe G. is right. Adam thinks way more of himself than his fans do. I’m surprised anyone else could fit in the room with that huge manic ego he has. Burt, I can’t say anything about one way or the other, but Adam West has an ego FAR bigger than his talent will ever be. And besides….he was FAT in his batman costume–take that Adam!
Has anyone thought to do a DNA check between Gary Busey and Adam West? Put them both together in the same room with Terry Bradshaw and I’d bet you would have one helluva party
.
Burt sure let himself go to pot, he used to look awesome! Adam looks great for his age, he’s funny! Ward sits there and says nothing what a doofus, he could have at least participated, Adam gave him some chances to talk but he wouldn’t say anything.
Funny . Burt is a multi- millionaire (by marriage) and his wife used to be a real hottie (she is several years younger too). Both have gotten BIG.
Looks like Burt Ward could play Penguin now?
I saw Adam West appear in costume the year the first Tim Burton Batman movie came out, with the original Batmobile at a World of Wheels show in Green Bay, Wi.That was really cool for me as I was a freak for that show when it came out when I was 5 years old. He was great and couldn’t have been more gracious. The batmobile, however, needed to at least be waxed or buffed.
I wish the 60s Batman TV show would be released on DVD. So terrible that it was awesome!
So much $ to be made on a DVD release, yet it’s still in legal hell. That’s what happens when FOx uses a character now owned by Warner Brothers.
HUH??? We have the 60′s TV series BATMAN on DVD, the entire series and it isn’t a bootleg copy either, we got it from Columbia House (I think, or try Amazon). I heard it was at one time tied up in legal limbo (because of Adam West) but we have the entire TV series. Google it and you can probably get it.
Not to come across as a troll, but I’m pretty sure the George Reeves Superman show in the 50′s was the first TV show of a major comic book character.
That aside, I enjoy this show for the silly goofball entertainment it was meant to be, and watch it a few nights a week on The Hub.
I think the interviewer cut in before Burt could say anything. Adam did give him chances. This kid needs to learn some more technique – but Adam wasn’t making it easy on him. I’m glad to hear he’s nice in person! Maybe he was tired, hence the sunglasses. And he does look good for his age.
Love the show in the 60′s still today Batman I remember with mom an popcorn
My sister, Linda appeared in 2 episodes as an Extra…when the Penguin ran for President…she was one of the campaign girls!
I loved Batman the 60s TV series as a child. Its campy fun and relatively harmless plots (people rarely died) ruined it for me when all the 90s and 00s movies came out because they were so mean in tone. The movies sure are more realistic but I’ll take my Batman full of cheesey camp.
Can anyone say awkward :-/
the interviewer sucks
Yes he does!
If you were a kid in the 60′s there is no doubt that you have great memories of the original Batman series. My brother and me used to dress up in Adam West Batman masks and cape and jump around on our beds pretending to fight the bad guys. Memories!!
