'True Blood': See the Comic-Con teaser here!

And here are the highlights from the True Blood panel at Comic-Con (moderated by EW’s own Tim Stack):

    • Alexander Skarsgard got a massive, Beatles-like reception from the crowd in Ballroom 20, even though the panel featured other hotties like Stephen Moyer, Kevin Alejandro, Nelsan Ellis and Ryan Kwanten (where’s the love, gals?). But where was Alcide and Sam? Joe Manganiello was off rehearsing a movie in Atlanta while Sam Trammel was in a hospital somewhere because he’s about to become a father.
    • Wondering how Eric made Pam? We’ll finally see how it all happened in season 5.
    • Executive Producer Alan Ball can’t tell us when the show will end but he will say that it won’t be anytime soon. ”As we get further down the road, it will become less and less about this season is based on this book or that season is based on that book. But the show has a tremendous amount of life. I hope to get to the point where it becomes a problem for us in the writers room to explain why the vampires seem to be aging.”
    • Welcome back, dead Claudine? Ball teased that fairies are born in litters and are often identical.
    • More about season 5 development: Ball said he and the writers are currently researching different kind of supernatural characters that have yet to be seen on the show.
    • Don’t get too comfortable with your galpal, Tara! Ball teased that we haven’t seen the end of Tara and Sam.
    • Skarsgard joked that one of the bigger mysteries of the season is how he showed up shirtless and wearing a dorky pair of shorts after losing his memory. Says Ball, “If you take apart the Latin spell that was cast on Eric, part of it says, `by the way, you will lose your shirt and you’ll find yourself in a really dorky outfit for several episodes in a row and still be insanely hot.”

This is already my favorite season of True Blood.

    • Merideth

Ditto. Last season was a disaster, but this season has me hooked again. Well done.

  • Marco

I had a my doubts for this season after the wandering mess that was last season, but the eps already out plus this preview really has restored my faith and fandom

    • Jodi

I stepped back after season two because I was so put off by the whole MaryAnn fiasco. I wouldn’t even waste my money on buying that season it was such a disaster. S3 wasn’t too bad, but I’m alsready sold on this season. The fourth book was by far my favorite as well.

Only watching True Blood for Eric Northman.

Ha! it’f funny I just saw an AB interview with Aussielo(sorry it’s spell wrong) and he asked AB if the most people ask is about Eric and Sookie and he said no.LOL!!! I do understand that he can’t follow the books season by season. If not we are talking about 13 seasons and like AB said what they’re going to justified vampires getting old? But they need to keep the essence of the books. No start making up there own stuff. just saying.

  • Ryan

Wow! They gave away a lot in that trailer. I can’t wait for the next episode. Since they skipped ahead, it will be a slow build but things will probably pick up around mid-season.

Well AB can look for all the different supernaturals he wants, but for me it is all about the vampires Eric and Pam in particular. For some reason Bill always makes me laugh, he is such an incredibly boring dandy with the worst southern accent ever. Unfortunately AB spends to much time cramming him down our throats. Jessica’s a doll.

I’m not necessarily looking forward to many more seasons because I have a very short attention span where TV is concerned. I have read all the books several times and I for one like them much better. All of the over the top stuff Jason and Amy dancing in the sky, Maryanne and her meat tree, Sookie in fairyland and the mess that AB turned Hotshot into were ludicrous to me. I’m pretty tired of most of it. The problem for me is I can’t give up Eric so I have to stay to the bitter end or until Eric goes. When he is gone I’m outta here.

    • Mar

Me too, i will endure Alan Ball’s crapfest as long as Eric is still there.

    • El

You can do what I do I skip all the boring parts and only watch Pam, Sookie and Eric parts of the show. I must confess I’m a bit concerned that AB said that they weren’t going to stick to the books as much because the only good thing that come out from them not sticking to the books were Godric the rest I think was crap.

      • Ashley

I think he more meant they weren’t going to stick to the one book per season format anymore. More mixing different books together, which I think is a good thing.

      • Ashley

At least, for me combining books is a good thing, because I didn’t much care for books 5 and 6. And I loved Book 7.
I love both the books and show. I watched 2 seasons of the show before reading the books, but in both I’m a huge E/S fan.

  • Rashad

True Blood is THE BEST SHOW ON TV!!!!!!

  • DavidSask

The trailer is no longer appearing, WTF?

  • VPG

Love the Eric love! I watch True Blood for Eric and Pam! :)

  • WhoWhatWhere

AB must be sipping the Cool-Aide again *wink wink* if he thinks this show is going to last 10 more seasons? Really? I’d be surprised if last 2 more at the MOST. The show is not that great, it is a good fare, but great it is not, most of S2-3 were laughable.

  • lilian

I did not like last season of True Blood, but so far this season has been very good (minus Hot Shot, of course), and, I must say, this preview looks AMAZING!

  • Krista

So far I like witches; I think this storyline is very interesting, especially going back to the Middle Ages. But as long as the show concentrates mostly on Sookie and Eric, they need more screen time. I am fine with all the other characters, Bill is fine, he is an interesting character, but I do not want him to get back with Sookie.

  • Tracy

I’m just glad we’re finally gonna get some Eric and Sookie action for real!
