So how would Community survive after graduation? Harmon mentioned the key will be learning who the characters are outside of school. “We need to meet their families before the end of season 4 because what if we need the show to go on forever? We need to know these people are.”
Other panel highlights after the jump:
- A real-life monkey coming on stage to show off the exclusive Comic-Con DVD cover.
- Harmon teasing an episode that has “multiple timelines”
- Harmon teasing a new professor played by The Wire alum Michael K. Williams. “If we’re too cartoonish sometimes, then let’s add the opposite of cartoonish. Let’s add an element of The Wire to Community.”
- Donald Glover saying his character Troy and Danny Pudi’s Abed would probably dress as Ren & Stimpy if they were to ever go to Comic-Con

Limit your use of Chang… he’s too much.
THIS!
You’ve just been Changed !
No – don’t shortChang me!!!
Yes, please!
wow, didn’t see that coming!
Pop what? What is he trying to say?
Eh, I love, love, love this show…but 4-5 seasons will probably be enough. There’s no need to drag things out.
Don’t worry – no one wants the show to go on forever. No one really wants it to go on another season – it has very low ratings.
Low ratings =/= no one. Your logic does not resemble our Earth logic.
Could you not presume to speak for anyone besides yourself? Thanks.
By that logic, EVERYONE wants EVERYTHING to last FOREVER on CBS (good luck finding anyone under the age of 55 who fits that description) . . . either that, or a ratings system that hasn’t changed much since it was established in the 1950′s might be a little outdated and Community is a critical darling with a YOUNG, rabidly loyal cult following that makes it one of the most popular shows on the web (where YOUNG people watch television). It’s one of those two things. I’m sure of it.
COMMUNITY is an infinitely better show than Modern Family. MF(!) or One and a Half men get more viewers because in order to enjoy Community, you need some depth in your life experience.
Omar on Community HMMMMM….”You come at the king, you best not miss” Damn straight Omar damn straight and just in case you’re pondering, “I keeps one in the chamber”
@Juke…While I love Community, it really isn’t as accomodating to all audiences as many others. To play Devil’s Advocate, many people find Two And Half too dirty (old folks) and MF too gay.
Mchale comment that he would’ve liked to dress as a sloppy Ghostbuster he saw earlier at comic con was hilarious to me, he said “the guy hardly put any effort in it”
Thank you for every other fantastic article. The place else could anybody get that type of info in such a perfect approach of writing? I have a presentation next week, and I am at the search for such info.
