After their Saturday panel at this year’s Comic-Con, the cast of The Vampire Diaries and exec producer Julie Plec visited EW’s VIP lounge to chat with our own Sandra Gonzalez. Naturally, she led with a question about the season 3 footage that got the loudest reaction at the panel: A wet, shirtless Ian Somerhalder. “I soaped him for that scene,” Paul Wesley cracked. And that wasn’t the last laugh: If Wesley doesn’t love the attention of, say, 4,250 people singing “Happy Birthday” to him — which the crowd did during the panel — why did he become an actor? “I hide behind the complexities of Stefan,” Wesley deadpanned into the camera. I love the character of Damon on the show, but after watching this clip, Paul Wesley can be my boyfriend.
I know right? It’s weird bc I love Damon on the show but like Paul better in real life.
Don’t mean to be rude, but Sandra Gonzalez is terrible at interviewing. She came across as being overtly giddy, giggly and school girlish.
