'Entourage' team: 'We're going to do a movie'

The team behind HBO’s Entourage reiterated their commitment to continuing the show as a movie.

“We’re going to do a movie,” said creator Doug Ellin at the TV critics press tour. “We’re going to do it. It’s a question of when and how quick. We’ll sit down and come up with an idea.”

Exec producer Mark Wahlberg was also bullish on the prospect: “Well, I said if I had to finance myself, I’d do it. I certainly hope it has a chance to bcome a feature film, everybody always says the episodes are too short. [Viewers] want to go on a journey. The Hangover to me is like Entourage.”

Agreed Jeremy Piven: “I think [the final season] is a gratifying way to finish, yet I also feel we could transition into a movie.”

The cast and producers said their appearance at the Beverly Hilton will represent the last time they’ll all be together for Entourage as a TV show.

“We’re all choked up,” said Adrian Grenier about the parting. “We’ve been together for eight years. We’ve spent countless hours creating something were very proud of. It’s sad to say goodbye to each other and to what we created. We know we’ll always be connected on some level.”

Added Kevin Connolly, “I don’t want to start crying.”

    • Who Craig

life won’t be worth living after this show ends. *jumps off cliff*

    • Chris Jones

Dude no joke i literally cried during the series finally. It’s not even a show, it’s a lifestyle.

    • James

Yeah, just tried watching Flight of the Conchords after coming down off an 8-season binge of Entourage the past couple weeks, and I gotta’ say I’m a bit disappointed.

  • joe luck

The plot will focus around Vince trying to get a movie made, Drama feeling humiliated about a role he’s offered, E and Sloan breaking up/getting back together/breaking up, and Turtle using Vince’s friends to fund some quick money scheme.

    LIKE EVERY FREAKING SEASON.

    • dee

      haha well said.

    • ian

      but tis a good watch.

    • Chris Jones

Thats only been the last two seasons, and it is still the best show on television.

      • jimmy jones

Chris are you serious? I can name 5 shows that destroy entourage in quality. Curb Your Enthusiasm, Bored to Death, Louie, Breaking Bad, and Mad Men.

  • Kevin7

I have watched every season and I’ve mostly enjoyed it but enough is enough. I’m more interested in watching the E True Hollywood Story that will be out 10 years from now titled “Where are the cast members of Entourage now?” Because let’s face it, it’s over for this bunch. If any of them were going to blow up and have huge careers it would have happened already.

    • Jenna

Jeremy Pivens is going to be huge.

  • Brad

This show jumped the shark in season 3. What’s the point of doing a movie? To prove even further that the creators don’t like the characters or the audience? Oh, I forgot, the purpose of a movie would be to make money, just like the last five seasons.

    • Chris Jones

Dude your so dumb this show has by far the most loyal and committed fan base i have ever witnessed and it is the most entertaining/incredible show on television.

  • Maria Theresa

It is the male sex in the city just not as good and the fashion is dismal

    • bobba

The Sex movie was a steaming pile. Hopefully the

    • Fog cue

I guess Sex & The City really does encourage idiocy.

    thank you

  • Corky Thatcher

Awesome! Now they can suck and annoy audiences on a big screen!

    • Chris Jones

      You’re such an idiot

  • Dumbledore Fluffernutter

An Entourage movie should be about Drama having become a major motion picture star and Vince is doing reality TV to keep his career afloat.
Ari is trying to steal drama away from E for his agency.

  • Juke Early

I agree ENTOURAGE lost its fresh charm by S4. Wahlberg has been part of some very good movies i.e. Departure & The Fighter. Time for this cast to get serious and have a real life obstacle they band together to overcome. That won’t mean it has to lose its sense of play & hedonism. Pretty sure somebody wants to kill Ari or maybe take him off for a lesson — step it up Doug. You & they can do it. Need some help? email me ;-)

    • Chris Jones

I agree the first 4 seasons were by far the best and arguably the best 4 seasons of a show ever but, its not like the last 4 were bad it was still the best show on television

  • cbolt

Everyone bitches about the show, but i think a lot of people will miss it when its gone. I think season 6 was weekest. seasons 1 – 3 the best. Movie Jail Vince in Season 5 wasnt bad either.

  • Ap

After watching the season premiere last Sunday I refuse to waste my time on this show any longer.

    • Bob R

      you just did

      • Ap

How observant of you Bob R!

      • ian

thats what i was going to say then is aw your comment.

  • Clete

I like the line “We’ll sit down and come up with an idea.” That means not much though has been given to what they want to do if they do get funding to make this into a movie.

  • john

They should revolve the movie around Drama getting nominated for a Razzie award for his performance in a movie.

  • Eric Z

I always felt the perfect ending to the show would be Drama and Vince winning awards at the same time (maybe Golden Globes-TV and movie), E would finally be married to Sloan, and Turtle would carve out his perfect niche (maybe as a millionaire part-owner of Avion Tequila.) Any thoughts

    • James

Yeah, I was pulling for Drama to come out on top, which they were definitely nodding towards…and Tur–oh, I get it. You just described what did happen…and before it aired–well played.

  • Trip

ucch. please team these ass-hats up with the Sex in the City gals and turn this into a slasher flick where they ALL DIE.
