More details on Charlie Sheen’s next TV project: The actor officially announced his show based on the movie Anger Management — but there’s still no network on board … yet.

The show is based on the movie about a mild-mannered, non-confrontational man is ordered to attend group anger management sessions led by a therapist who could probably use some anger management himself.

“I chose Anger Management because, while it might be a big stretch for me to play a guy with serious anger management issues, I think it is a great concept,” Sheen said in a statement. “It also provides me with real ownership in the series, a certain amount of creative control and the chance to be back in business with one of my favorite movie producers of all time, Joe Roth.” READ FULL STORY »

Ricky Gervais to team with 'Dexter' producer for 'Afterlife' -- EXCLUSIVE

Ray Burmiston

The Office meets Dexter?

Yes! Ricky Gervais, the creator of The Office and Extras is teaming up with former Dexter showrunner, Clyde Phillips, for a new show called Afterlife, about an atheist who dies and goes to heaven.

They are writing the pilot episode now and plan to film in early 2012, though no studio is yet attached. Gervais will take a cameo role.

On his website, Gervais wrote, “Dexter has consistently been my favourite show of the last five years. When I first saw Clyde’s name all over it I knew I had to work with him one day. I found out he was also a fan of my work and we became friends on email and through short conversations on various red carpets. We finally started working on an idea this year and we really hit it off. I am so exited about this project.”

The plot has traces of Gervais’ The Invention of Lying, the 2009 film that featured Gervais as a desperate underachiever who introduces the idea of God to a naive society where no one else has yet contemplated the notion of telling a falsehood.

'My Strange Addiction' season premiere: An exclusive sneak peek of 'The Rat Lady' (VIDEO)

Season 2 of TLC’s fascinating and harrowing docu-reality series My Strange Addiction debuts tonight with two back-to-back episodes (10 p.m. ET). You can watch an exclusive clip of Theresa, 56, who splits her love unevenly among her 52 hairless rats and her own daughter, after the jump. But since I understand you probably cannot (because EWWWWW.com), I’ve put together a fun/tragic list of the first episode’s most profound spoken lines.

Theresa, addicted to hairless rats:

“My daughter gave me a very strong ultimatum that it was her or the rats. I don’t know what I’m going to do.”

“You can make spaghettis for [the rats]. Pizza, chocolate, and cupcakes.”

Jazz, 48, addicted to growing her fingernails:

“I just can’t stop loving my kids, so how can I stop loving my nails?” READ FULL STORY »

Oversight is getting a new officer: Dillon Casey is joining The CW drama’s second season in a recurring role.

The Canadian actor plays Sean Pierce, an Army Special Ops officer assigned by Oversight to retrieve the mysterious black box containing Division’s secrets from Nikita (Maggie Q), while also keeping an eye on how Amanda (Melinda Clarke) runs Division. As he learns more about Alex’s (Lyndsy Fonseca) history, he’s distrustful of her relationship to Nikita.

Nikita season two debuts Friday, Sept. 23 on The CW, but you can get a look at Casey earlier than that in Starz’ Torchwood: Miracle Day, where he plays a love interest of Capt. Jack Harkness.

Men of a Certain Age isn’t getting any older.

After returning to low ratings, TNT has declined to pick up a third season of the acclaimed series about a trio of middle-aged men. The news comes a day after co-star Andre Braugher scored a second Emmy nomination for the show and helps make room for the network’s new drama, a reboot of 1980s hit Dallas. Here’s a statement from the network:

“TNT has been proud to be a part of Men of a Certain Age for two seasons. While the show has featured great storytelling and impeccable performances, the audience simply hasn’t built to the point where we can continue the series. This was an extremely difficult decision for us. We wish Ray Romano, Mike Royce and the terrific cast and crew of Men of a Certain Age the very best and look forward to exploring new programming possibilities in the future.”

More scheduling moves are expected soon. The network already gave a greenlight to another season of Falling Skies and it is expected to order a second season of Franklin & Bash.

'Castle' graphic novel: A peek inside 'Richard Castle's Deadly Storm' -- EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS

Castle is headed to Comic-Con again this year, but before the fan-favorite drama heads to the land of nerds and dreams-come-true, EW has the exclusive first look at the graphic novel based off of Richard Castle’s Derrick Storm mystery series, Richard Castle’s Deadly Storm (out Sept. 28).

Comic-Con street cred = earned? I’d say so, especially considering the comic book, co-written by Brian Michael Bendis (Avengers) and Kelly Sue DeConnick (Captain America) and first seen in the season finale, comes from Marvel.

Richard Castle’s Deadly Storm will be released Sept. 28. Castle’s Comic-Con panel takes place Sunday. See the schedule here. And click below to see the images!

Theme song for 'The Big Bang Theory' -- VIDEO

Categories: The Big Bang Theory

Aww, what a cute way to celebrate The Big Bang Theory’s first Emmy nomination for best comedy. But that’s not why the Barenaked Ladies took a trip to the show’s Warner Bros. TV lot to shoot a full length version of the theme song. The video was actually made to help kick off the sitcom’s launch in syndication this fall (it will air five nights a week on TBS and stations across the country beginning Sept. 18).

A bit o’ history about the snappy tune in case you didn’t know: Theory creators Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady — who are fans of the band — asked Barenaked Ladies’ singer/guitarist Ed Robertson to pen a theme song for the sitcom as a “sort of history of everything … in about 32 seconds.”  The rest, of course, is history.

Keep an eye out for Lorre picking the gee-tar.

'Good Wife' scoop: Christine Baranski hoping for a younger love interest -- and has her eye on Hugh Grant

Cameras started rolling on the third season of CBS’s The Good Wife today, and while Christine Baranski, who just scored her second supporting actress Emmy nomination for the role of Diane — her ninth career Emmy nod — won’t begin shooting until next week, she tells EW she’s already hard at work on the show’s casting director Mark Saks. “You may see another involvement with a guy, maybe a younger love interest. I don’t know. I don’t know,” she says nonchalantly when asked what awaits Diane this fall. Her ideal beau? “You know what I keep whispering in Mark Saks’ ear, because these English guys are now coming across the pond to do things, like Jeremy [Irons] did Law & Order: SVU, I would love Hugh Grant,” she says, almost giggling. “He’s my dream. It would be wonderful to have cocktails with Hugh Grant.” After we give our approval, she continues. “He’s a little younger, but not so young where you go, oh come on,” she says of their eight-year age difference. “And he’s so witty. I could see Diane Lockhart mixing it up with a Hugh Grant-type. It would be heavenly.”  READ FULL STORY »
