Wow: Just a few days after acclaimed director Frank Darabont took the Comic-Con stage to promote season two of AMC’s The Walking Dead comes this news that he’s stepping down as the series’ showrunner.

Sources say Deadline’s report is true that Darabont will no longer serve as the chief writer-producer on the series.  Without saying whose decision it was, the decision is attributed to Darabont never quite having gotten the hang of switching from films (The Shawshank Redemption, The Mist) to a TV show. 'White Collar': Tiffani Thiessen on Elizabeth's 'soft spot' for Neal, chances of a baby for the Burkes, and her dream guest star. (Hint: Reunion!)

As wife to Peter Burke (Tim DeKay) on USA’s White Collar, Tiffani Thiessen’s character, Elizabeth, is no stranger to being part of the boys club that dominates the show. But that’s the way the actress likes it.

“To play a little more with the guys — as I say — has been quite fun this season,” she says. And it’s easier to be part of the action these days — last season she spent most of her time pregnant and in front of a green screen pre-filming scenes. Not fun, she says.

But as the show’s third season rolls on, Thiessen stopped by EW HQ this week to preview the action on the way for her character and talk about what the future holds for the Burkes. Oh, and Saved By the Bell. (You know we couldn’t just let that slip by.)

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: You’ve been in the action a little more this season. Have you had a favorite moment so far?
TIFFANI THIESSEN: It’s hard to say. I love all the episodes, but definitely the ones where I get to play a little bit more are a lot of fun. There’s a great one that just aired a few weeks ago. It’s the one where Peter goes undercover and does speed dating — “Veiled Threat.” It was great.  READ FULL STORY »

Adrianne Curry says this skimpy costume got her kicked out of Comic-Con -- PHOTO

Categories:

Former America’s Next Top Model and VH1 reality star Adrianne Curry says she got kicked off the Comic-Con convention floor for being a bit too cheeky. Seems Curry’s Aeon Flux costume annoyed police during her booth signing because, unlike Charlize Theron’s big-screen version of the character, it was semi-bottomless.

“Just got stopped by a ton of cops,” she Tweeted. “My costume is illegal … the butt … sigh … cops r making … me leave immediatly after my signing… Apparently the San Diego police are unfamiliar with a screen accurate version of Aeon Flux.” Hm, we’re skeptical, we’ve seen similarly risque costumes around Comic-Con, but hey, this story ain’t exactly Watergate — here’s the costume (from the front): READ FULL STORY »

TNT has ordered a second season of Franklin & Bash, the legal drama starring Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Breckin Meyer, EW has learned. Currently airing Wednesdays at 9 p.m., Franklin & Bash ranks as one of basic cable’s top new series of the summer. The net ordered 10 more episodes.

“This summer, Franklin & Bash has broken out as a hugely entertaining series with great characters, sharp writing and a terrific cast,” said Michael Wright, executive vice president, head of programming, for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies in a statement. “We’re thrilled that the show has drawn such a remarkably strong following and look forward to bringing it back next summer.”

Gosselaar and Meyer star as two young street lawyers in the drama that also stars Malcolm McDowell as Stanton Infeld, the patriarch of the law firm. The show’s from the Emmy-winning Kevin Falls (The West Wing) and also features Dana Davis, Kumail Nanjiani, Reed Diamond and Garcelle Beauvais.

Since premiering on June 1, Franklin & Bash has drawn 3.9 million viewers, ranking it among basic cable’s Top 5 new series for the summer-to-date. The series is averaging 1.8 million adults 18-49 and adults 25-54. Sadly, the drama’s stellar ratings couldn’t give enough of a boost to its lead-out, Men of a Certain Age. TNT cancelled the Ray Romano drama after two seasons.

What breakup? 'LA Ink' premiere episode still set to celebrate Jesse-Kat engagement

kat_von_dAwkward! The premiere episode of LA Ink on Thursday features a ton o’ talk about Kat Von D’s engagement to Jesse James and how she may (or may not) move to Austin to be closer to her marked-up man. She even addresses those maddening pregnancy rumors!

Unfortunately for her, the episode is still a go despite the news that the engagement is off.  (She tweeted her bummer news). In fact, James is featured throughout the season. Oh my. ”I feel like I’m the luckiest girl,” she says in the premiere episode. “I don’t care what anybody thinks.” Hmm, what about now? For a sneak peek of the episode, click here.

The death of Amy Winehouse spurred Oxygen to delete a joke made about the singer from its reality show The Glee Project. A Sunday night repeat of an episode dropped the audio on a joke a cast-member made about the 27-year-old singer, who died Saturday after years of struggling with substance abuse.

In the episode, Glee creator Ryan Murphy teased Alex, a contestant on the show: “I’m surprised you didn’t come out here dressed like Amy Winehouse. Why didn’t you?” Alex said he could go change — and then the audio dropped out. The deleted line, first reported by the Boston Herald, was of Glee choreographer Zach Woodlee joking that all Alex needed was “a mop and a bottle,” sparking Murphy and others to laugh. On this week’s episode of The Glee Project, we said goodbye to Marissa Von Bleicken, the NYC native who won the last two homework challenges but struggled with the vocals for the video. “There hadn’t been a homework winner in the bottom three yet,” said the college student about her elimination. “So I was shaking in my boots waiting to find out what I had done so wrong to be the first one.” EW talked with Marissa about what’s next and what the “Vulnerability” challenge meant for her.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: On this week’s episode you finally got the iconic slushie to the face. Did it live up to all of the hype?
MARISSA VON BLEICKEN:
It was definitely more painful than I though it would be. The concept of it is a lot funnier and more entertaining and exciting than you’d think, but it’s actually a very cold, sticky experience. I was completely uncomfortable, so I can’t blame any of the other contenders or Cameron for having a hard time with it.
