'Castle': New pictures reveal (non?) secret from season premiere

Don’t let those worried faces fool you. Even though the good people at Castle have tried (unsuccessfully) to worry us all about Beckett’s future, the promo pictures for this season show us, among other things, that Beckett is alive and well.

Click here to view the full set of photos.

The season premiere of Castle promises to be an emotional hour, indeed, but it also looks to be pretty kick-ass, too. As you’ll see as you click through the pics, there’s a fight (in which Seamus Dever’s Ryan has to hold Molly Quinn back from getting too close the action!), what looks like a good scolding from “Iron Gates,” and, wait, is Beckett handing in her shield?! Or that could be Capt. Montgomery’s shield. Regardless, Beckett doesn’t look to happy with her new boss.

Spot any secrets I might have missed in these photos, readers?

Stacey Dash is out of VH1′s Single Ladies.

The former Clueless star played fashion store owner Val on the network’s first scripted series. The network and Dash issued statements asserting the exit was Dash’s decision. “I have to be back in L.A. with my children right now and the Single Ladies shooting location [in Atlanta] makes this impossible,” Dash said in a statement to GlobalGrind and verified by VH1. “I wish VH1 the best of luck with the show in maintaining the strong fan base we developed in Season 1.”

VH1 added: “VH1 respects Stacey’s decision and her commitment to what she feels is best for her family. We thank her for all of her hard work in making Single Ladies a success right out of the gate, and we wish her nothing but the best in her future plans.”

'Extreme Couponing': Season 2 premiere date, first-look video -- EXCLUSIVE

Categories: Reality TV

TLC’s breakout hit Extreme Couponing is getting a premiere date — and EW has an exclusive first look at its second season in the video below where you get to meet a “shelf clearer.”

Couponing will return Sept. 28 at 10 p.m. with a sneak peak after the Sept. 12 series finale of Kate Plus 8. The season will have 12 episodes of innovative/scarily compulsive coupon-cutting obsessiveness. Subjects include a Pennsylvania mother of seven teenagers who uses her coupon-clipping skills to also feed 200 parishioners at her church and an upstate New York woman cutting like crazy to feed 280 people at her sister’s wedding.

Interesting aside No. 1: USA Today recently published a story about how there’s been a rash of newspaper thefts across the country that authorities are blaming on the extreme couponing craze. One editor actually touted the thefts as a “win-win” for the struggling newspaper industry. (Hey, they might be the stealing papers, but at least they’re flying off the racks!) READ FULL STORY »

In case you’ve wondered what T.I. has been up to over the past few hours since being released from prison, VH1 will make sure you don’t miss a moment of the rapper’s life after the clink. Set to debut on Dec. 5 at 10 p.m., the yet-to-be-titled reality show will feature the Grammy winner’s life after serving nearly a year of hard time for parole violation, which stemmed from a 2008 weapons conviction.

According to a statement from VH1, the 10-episode series will not only show how the troubled 30-year-old star, who was released nearly a month earlier than he was scheduled to, is readjusting to the real world, but will also follow the musician as he heads back to the studio to record again. It will also chronicle his relationship with his children and his wife, Xscape’s Tameka “Tiny” Cottle. READ FULL STORY »

'90210' scoop: A love interest for Shenae Grimes?

Chris-McKenna

90210 is about to bring on its own Mr. Big: EW has learned exclusively that Chris McKenna has signed on for multiple episodes to play Patrick, a rich, powerful and very charming businessman who falls for Annie (Shenae Grimes).

But she may not want to pursue this relationship: Patrick continues to date other women in other cities. He doesn’t do it to be mean; he’s just too darn busy to be a one-woman man. The producers describes him as a young Mr. Big — a smooth mover who gets what he wants.

McKenna has made numerous TV appearances on dramas like Harry’s Law, Rizzoli & Isles and NCIS: Los Angeles. He also played Joey Buchanan on One Life to Live.

90210 returns to the CW on Sept. 13.

Glenn who? 'The Five' makes its case for fall with surprising summer showing

the-five

When Glenn Beck bid farewell to his daily cable TV audience in June, Fox News had to have mixed feelings. One one hand, they were rid of a polarizing political maverick who critics argued undermined their credibility as a serious news organization and cost them advertisers. On the other hand, Beck was consistent ratings gold; he clobbered the cable competition in his 5 p.m. timeslot like no one before.

But two months later, Fox is sitting pretty. READ FULL STORY »

'Drop Dead Diva': Brandy talks return to acting -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

This Sunday, Brandy makes her return to acting with the start of a three-episode guest arc on Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva. Her character, Elisa Shayne, ended a relationship with Parker (Josh Stamberg) eight years ago, and comes to him for legal help. She quit her job as a nurse to care for her dying father, and now his life insurance company refuses to pay out his policy. “I think she was really in love with Parker at one point, and you know how Parker is on the show,” Brandy laughs. “She couldn’t handle his lifestyle, so she moved on. She’s a really somber woman. She’s quiet. She’s a good mom. She loved her dad. She’s a nurse. She’s a caretaker. I fell in love with her when I talked to the producers about her.” That’s good, because producers are leaving the door open for the character, who has a secret that involves Parker, to return — assuming Lifetime renews the show. (Let’s get on that!). “She starts to work at the firm, and she definitely has some things that she’s keeping from people,” Brandy says. “That keeps me around. Hopefully it will bring me back for season 4, if they get picked up. I’m looking forward to that. I love Atlanta, where it’s shot. The cast is a family there. That’s a blessing to be able to come back to acting, and then work with people who are humble and excited to work with me just as much as I am with them.” READ FULL STORY »

'Walking Dead' showrunner Glen Mazzara talks about season 2 (but not about how he got his job)

walking-dead-season-2

Walking Dead executive producer Glen Mazzara has teased the second season of AMC’s zombie show in an interview on the AMC website. The new showrunner explained that the show’s second season will follow Robert Kirkman’s original comic series by in large part taking place at a farm belonging to a character named Hershel. “In the graphic novel the story that takes place on Hershel’s farm is really only a few issues,” said Mazzara. “We’ve been able to mine that for many episodes, and we’re very excited about the depth to which we’re able to push the characters, the different dynamics that we’re able to explore. Our approach to our group of survivors when they reach Hershel’s farm is that they are a plague unto themselves. Nothing goes right for Hershel once Rick and his band show up. They make the zombie apocalypse look like kids in a candy story. What’s interesting is that if this was a show solely about Hershel, Rick and his band would really be the antagonists. And that’s been really surprising because every action that Rick and his band take is completely logical, but you’ll certainly sympathize with Hershel.”

It’s official: The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will premiere on schedule, with re-edited episodes. Bravo is also adding suicide prevention announcements to run during the program. The footage producers shot with the cast members addressing the suicide will be used for a brief introduction.

Frances Berwick, president of Bravo, issued this statement: “Bravo will proceed with the Monday, Sept. 5 premiere date of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Given that these episodes were filmed months ago, the producers of the show taped a brief interview this week with several of the cast members to introduce the premiere. Re-editing of the episodes is still underway.”

Cast member Russell Armstrong, who killed himself after taping episodes of the program, is not expected to appear in the first few episodes of the show. Ironically, the premiere date — which was originally announced before his death — is during National Suicide Prevention Week (Sept. 4-10). Continued Berwick: READ FULL STORY »

'Survivor' winners Ethan and Jenna head up new 'Amazing Race' cast. Plus: New twists revealed! -- EXCLUSIVE

Credit: Robert Voets/CBS

The Amazing Race has not been shy about having former CBS reality stars on the show. Boston Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich of Survivor fame played twice, while Big Brother‘s Jeff Schroeder and Jordan Lloyd, as well as Alison Irwin (and her non-Big Brother boyfriend Donny) all have appeared on the program. But now, for the first time, two winners will team up to compete as Survivor: Africa champ Ethan Zohn and Survivor: The Amazon victor Jenna Morasca head up the cast for the show’s 19th installment (premiering Sept. 25 on CBS), which will also feature some new twists to the game.

For Zohn, racing across the world with his longtime girlfriend is especially sweet considering his recent medical battles after being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. “Last year I was attached to a pump in complete isolation in a f—ing hospital room, and now I’m out traveling the world with the woman I love. Whatever happens, it’s gonna be okay,” Ethan told EW.com just before embarking on the race. “But if she screws up, I’m gonna kill her.” READ FULL STORY »

'Five': Jennifer Aniston, Demi Moore direct star-filled cancer drama. Expect tears. Lots of tears. -- VIDEO

Categories: Television, Trailers

The ultra-dramatic trailer for Five, from a talented quintet of females, spares no emotional note. There are tears, dramatic music, and angry guitar smashing — but, also, from the looks of it, some truly phenomenal acting.

The movie, premiering on Lifetime Oct. 10, is a series of five short films with some very famous names attached. Jennifer Aniston, Alicia Keys, Demi Moore, Penelope Spheeris (director of Wayne’s World) and Patty Jenkins (who directed the pilot for AMC’s The Killing) all directed segments of the film, each of which tells a different story relating to breast cancer. Former Big Love star Jeanne Tripplehorn plays an oncologist and acts as the common thread in five parts.  READ FULL STORY »
