Game of Thrones has cast its deadly assassin Jaqen H’gar for season 2.
In one of the final positions to be filled for the second season — which is adding a slew of new characters / potential victims — German actor Tom Wlaschiha (Enemy at the Gates) has landed the role of Jaqen, Thrones fan site Winter is Coming first reported. The character is a “Faceless Man of Bravos” and one of the criminals being transported along with Arya to The Wall.
For those who missed the rest of the season 2 cast, here’s who will play Theon’s fierce sister, Stannis and Melisandre and Davos; here’s who’s cast for Brienne and here’s Margaery Tyrell.

PERFECT casting. I think Nina Gold has earned back all the goodwill she lost after that horrible misstep for Shae.
EW please write about “Switched at Birth” – it is the best show on tv right now!!!!!!
Switched at birth is a good show, but IMHO definitely not the best show on tv right now.
in terms of shows that are currently airing new episodes this summer, yes it is. Falling Skies is a runner up
Are you kidding me? Breaking Bad is the best show on right now, PERIOD.
i gotta agree with JD, if you are talking about shows airing new episodes right now Breaking Bad takes the cake but if you are talking about show overall then GoT wins hands down
Breaking Bad kicks Switched At Birth’s butt everyday. Sorry.
His eyes are a bit off — which of course is awesome.
I love how they’re casting the show internationally. I hope they keep the outrageous Braavosi accents!
Same story as Ross; came here from TWE.And that Courtesan game wow. Nothing like being greeted by an ofviesnfe motivational poster and piles of spelling and grammar errors. Which is a shame, since in competent hands, it’s an interesting concept. I’d be interested to hear one of y’all dig into it, one way or another, but it only took me ten minutes to give up on it.
YES!! I love the look of this guy for Jaqen!
Wasn’t there already a brief glimpse of Jaqen and co. in the cage at the end of last season?
They didn’t show Jaqen. He had a hood over his face. The other two, Biter and whats his name were already cast at that point
his name is Rorge and in the books he has no nose.
Rorge has no nose.
How does he smell?
Terrible.
You did see him in the cage, but his face was (pointedly) hidden.
YES!
A man approves of this casting choice. Valar morghulis! A man simply needs his three names.
Chyswick
Weese
Jaqen H’gar
I’ll allow it!
Good choice!
Too pretty, too young, too innocent-looking. I’m sure he’s a good actor, but I’d have preferred someone less conventional-looking.
You think that guy’s pretty and conventional looking?
I wouldn’t kick him out of bed while he was wearing that face…
I’m with dave. Gorgeous, yes; conventional-looking, not at all. That’s not a synonym for “blond”: his face isn’t symmetrical enough for “conventional”. But I’m curious as to what they’re going to do with him!
Agree. He is HOT but not conventional looking.
I know I’m a few months late on this one. (just finished some Arya chapters that makes this relevant for me)…but ever heard of make-up?
he like his god has many faces…
I dont need to read cos I know he is Brit
You are such a freak.
You know nothing
He’s actually a German of Polish descent, but you’re still a troll.
It is known
Hodor ?!
This character is awesome.
The faceless men of Braavos always makes me think of the Assassins of Assassin’s Creed.
In my mind I always pictured Jaquen looking like Ezio from AC2.
Looks like a good actor choice though. Cant’ wait.
valar morghulis
Valar Dohaeris
You lie.
Not what I was thinking, but there is a very good reason why I’m not a casting director. GoT pleasantly surprises me with their choices.
I love it!! He’s definitely my favorite minor (?!) character.
This looks like the one casting decision I’m on board with.
