We will know on Sept 22, the day after the much-anticipated (and much-ballyhooed, yes we know) talent show The X Factor premieres on Fox. Will the ratings be Idol-worthy? Will Paula’s hair look as full and as lustrous as it does it in this photo? Will that gal from the Pussycat Dolls convince us that she made a better judge than Corbin Bleu, that cute kid from High School Musical?

What’s more irritating: the fact that Simon and Paula leave a show to go do a different show that’s actually the same show (not like I wanted them to stay necessarily), or the fact that if you squint and ignore the two on the left, it looks like an old American Idol poster? If you’re going to do something new, shouldn’t it be something new?
I’m not going to say it’s going to be a great show, but I think there are going to be enough differences between X-Factor and Idol where it won’t be the same. But if you’re going to market a show and there are people out there that miss the American Idol of old (i.e. Simon and Paula), why not bring something back that feels a little familiar? I guess I’m not going to judge the show based on marketing campaigns and casting and I’ll just wait to see the product for myself.
Thank God, another British reality TV host, because that’s what 90% of shows need, apparently.

90% eh? Not seeing how the math adds up. But you may just watch more reality competitions than me. Idol – American Host, Voice – American Host, Dancing With Stars – American Host….I’m sure there are many other shows that may have a UK host, but I just disproved your theory that it’s EVERY show.
Most of these shows began in the UK.

Corbin Bleu was NEVER supposed to be a judge. Never. He was rumored to be in the running as a CO-HOST along side Nicole. Nicole replaced Cheryl Cole as a judge. Get your Entertainment facts together Entertainment Weekly. And PS…Nicole won’t be as good as Cheryl. Not one bit.
Hey JJ, ever think that maybe YOUR “facts” are wrong? Everyone always seems to believe the first thing they read or hear as fact and everything else after as incorrect.
They is actually right, Nicole did replace Cheryl as a judge. Cheryl did a couple of the audition cities but they fired her and Nicole became a judge instead of a co-host as originally planned. The Corbin part was a rumour.

All I can think of is how much more I would have liked Cheryl over Nicole. But I still like Nicole, so whatevs.
I feel the same, i was pleased when i realised they were both part of the show then they had to go and fire Cheryl.
