What was the ‘past present’? Is that like a gift one of the characters got in an old episode?
If I understand things correctly – the past, present and future converge when the Doctor is shot and killed in Utah – that’s probably going to be revisited in a different perspective.
It looks like the “impossible astronaut,” not the Silence, but I could be wrong. And it really is a shame more Americans don’t watch Doctor Who, it’s brilliant!
I’d much prefer Benedict Cumberbatch to be the doctor.

Am I the only one wishingt hey would just drop River Song already? Love the actress. Hate the character. She was good when she first appeared but then they completely changed her personality and morality for the new Doctor and ruined her.
But they got the companions right.

Oh my god, I love when you guys cover Doctor Who! I’ve been counting down the days til August 27th.
As much as I like Doctor Who, I feel like this season is getting too dense and too pre-ordained to really grab me. I like Amy, River and Rory but hope that next season we start fresh with new companions.
Anyone else notice how the “crack” seperates everyone from River? …foreshadowing?
Why do people like this show? Give me an honest, objective answer.
Because it’s brilliant storytelling, and loads of fun, crossing over various genres, but mainly sci-fi, comedy and drama. I’ve never found it scary like other people, but the stories are really good.
Americans enjoy this. It’s more than what we will get here in the UK. You know the UK – the place where Doctor Who is made.
Yes, why isn’t BBC America releasing these things on on the *British* Internet, dammit?
James, I was hoping you’d recap Torchwood but you didn’t, could you at least do Doctor Who? (I really liked your Game of Thrones stuff).
I’d love to see Doctor Who recaps, but this author doesn’t seem to have even basic familiarity with the show (as evidenced by calling The Doctor “Sir Who” – “Who” is not at all part of his name, nor is he ever called that).
Um, yes he has been. Black Orchid in the classic series. The Christmas Invasion and IIRC The Runaway Bride in the new series.
Um, no he hasn’t. They do the “Doctor? Doctor who?” joke a couple of times, but the only time’s he’s called ‘Doctor Who’ on screen is in The War Machines in 1966. And that’s by a computer that has no reason to know his name.
Worst Doctor Ever! Worst Head Writer Ever! It’s getting officially getting cancelled by the BBC according to their press release. I just wish the end could’ve been better that what we’ve been given. Way to go, Moffatt! You did it!
