Want to know when USA’s Psych is coming back?
The cable network’s longest-running original series now has a premiere date for its sixth season: Oct. 12 at 10 p.m.
The season has lined up a wildly eclectic roster of guest stars: William Shatner, Danny Glover, Kristy Swanson, Corey Feldman, Joey McIntyre, Malcolm McDowell, Jason Priestley, John Rhys Davies, Wade Boggs, Molly Ringwald and WWE’s The Miz. The season plans include tackling super heroes, hippie communes, mental institutions and vampires (!). And, yes, original Lost Boy Feldman is in the vampire episode, and Rhys “Sallah” Davies appears in an Indiana Jones inspired episode.

“The cable network’s longest-running original series”
*sigh* Does nobody remember Monk? Hibberd, you’ve got to check your facts.
yeah I think they mean currently active… Monk did have 8 seasons though (Psych used to follow it!)
I’m guessing he meant longest running original series that’s still on air…
Per Shawn: “I’ve heard it both ways.”
TV By The Numbers had the full press release posted, and that’s how it was phrased there, so it’s not EW’s mistake this time. I think kate’s interpretation of that statement is correct.
Actually, the press release mentions “on air,” making this the second time this week he’s removed an adjective (so to speak) from the original statement thus making it false.
Also, he and a thousand other people give new meaning to the word “exclusive” if there was a press release.
Monk was originally on abc for its first season.
It did not. For a period of time, ABC aired episodes that already showed on USA.
Finally!!! I can’t wait for october to arrive! I’ve been waiting so long!
Most consistently funny show right now. And clever — I love the themed shows.
Yippee!!! And it’s premiering on my birthday week! A birthday present I get to share with all o’ y’all!
Mine, too! My birthday is the next day, so it’s an early birthday present for me.
Yeah!!!!!!!!!!! It has been far too long since we had a new adventure with Shawn and Gus! I’m going to stock up on some pineapple.
Ally Sheedy. Check. Judd Nelson. Check. Molly Ringwald. Check. All they need to do is rangle in Emilio Estevez and Anthony Micheal Hall then they will have had all five members of the Breakfast Club guest star on their show which is really cool because they have made some many ’80s references over the seasons.
Anthony Michael Hall would be perfect!
So excited to here that Rhys Davies will be in an episode and Indiana Jones inspired is even more awesome!!! CANNOT WAIT!!!! I love Psych!! And I love the picture you used!!
I love this show soooo much!!!!!!
Suggestion: Dule’ Hill and James Roday go over to Emilio Estevez and Anthony Michael Hall’s homes (or agents’ homes) with a lovely fruit basket for each of them, featuring…wait for iiiitttt…a delicious pineapple! (obsequious grovelling optional)
The lead actor is so annoying with his unfunny one-liners and his whole “pay attention to me!” Robin Williams-type demeanor. He is the reason this show isn’t a hit.
Yeah “Miffy” the show isn’t hit, that’s why it is starting a sixth season because it is such a failure. Ohh no waaaaiiiiiitttt….foooooorrrr itiiittt. Your the failure.
That’s Awesome!!! Lol
No way. He has chemistry with the other actors. Williams makes it all about himself.
Miffy: A “hit” in show business is a success–sorry you misunderstood what it meant. An example of its proper usage in a sentence: “The popular television show ‘Psych’ is set to premiere its sixth consecitive season in October 12.” I hope that this helps!
