Get ready for more Leverage. TNT has ordered a fifth season of the Timothy Hutton starrer that’s currently averaging 4.8 million viewers, up 10% over season three.

The new season will bow next summer.

The series centers on a gang of grifters, hackers and thieves who are out to settle scores against the rich and powerful. After the show’s Aug. 28 summer finale, Leverage will return to wrap up its fourth season with new episodes in November and December.

Leverage first premiered on TNT in 2008.  Besides Hutton, who plays an insurance-investigator-turned-thief, Leverage also stars Gina Bellman, Christian Kane, Beth Riesgraf and Aldis Hodge.

First good news I’ve heard all week; especially after what happened with In Plain Sight.

Great, another commie leftist show advocating socialism in the form of “entertainment.” thanks Comrade Obama.

      • Lily

Your people would be thrilled, Wes! Very good job screaming from the rafters about something you know nothing about.

      • Wes

Yeah, that’s right, whenever anyone attacks the leftist agenda, call them stupid. The same old socialists tactics.

Wes , turn to Nick @ Nite ,Toon Network , like Uncle did.

    • Amanda

I am so bummed to find out about In Plain Sight! Now that I know this, I’m going to guess that Mary will keep her baby. She’ll probably get back together with her ex. Marshall’s feelings for Mary will go unrequited.

I hope that Brandi and Peter will get back together and elope this time.

Thank you TNT! Now maybe you guys could but up Human Target and Good Guys

    • JAM

      ‘buy’ up

  • Dahlenk

Great, with Brenda Leigh leaving, thank goodness we still have Leverage!! Love that show!! Can’t believe they kept Saving Grace and canx Men of Certain Age.

Keeping fingers crossed for Memphis Beat!!! Hope TNT doesn’t bar-be-que it!!

  • Carrie

So it’s not just me who has this as one of the few multi-watchable series. :) – Great news re: another season.

  • Billie72

Awesome news! Need me some more Kane in my life!

  • LAJackie

Awesome! Love the Leverage team and agree with my fellow fans – you can never have enough Kane in your life!

  • Ace

I’m glad they kept this show around. TNT kind of let me down canceling Men of a Certain age.

  • Lia

Yahoo! More Elliot, Hardison, Parker and Sophie!! And that other guy.

  • Lily

Yay for TNT! This is great news.

  • Sue1

I’ve been a fan of Timothy Hutton for years, and I’m so glad to see him in a good, successful show surrounded by talented co-stars. I’m still upset over MOACA, yet hoping for good news regarding Memphis Beat.

  • JohnnyA

Glad to hear the good news. Kane is cool and is probably tied or at least is a close 3rd to Nathan in 2nd place while Parker leads the pack by a large margin. The aloof characters always are my favourite and it does not hurt that Beth R. as Parker is smokin’ hot. :)

  • JPX

    What the hell is “Leverage”?

    • LOL

As the article makes it abundantly clear to anyone with a brain, it’s a TV show. A very good TV show, actually.

      • JPX

It can’t be too good, I’ve never heard of it.

      • LOL

A troll who doesn’t know much. What a surprise.

Christian Kane’s portrayal of a tough guy is laughable at best.

    • Nieci

Gotta love Leverage…it has a little bit of everything…Aldis & Christian (Elliot & Hardison) are the bomb. :)
