'ER' vet cast in 'Pan Am' arc -- EXCLUSIVE

Tags: , News, Scoop

A face familiar to ER fans has landed on ABC’s Pan Am.

Goran Visnjic has been cast in a four-episode arc on the upcoming 1960s-set airline drama. The actor, who played Dr. Luka Kovac for nearly a decade on the NBC hit, will portray a sexy Yugoslavian immigrant torn between his communist Eastern Bloc homeland and the potential freedoms and opportunities of the West.

Pan Am debuts Sept. 25. And have you checked out Christina Ricci in ABC’s Pan Am photos yet? And below is the Pan Am trailer (along with other fall trailers from ABC, use the buttons on the side to browse).

Just two days ago I was reading EW and wondering wtf happened to this guy. Nice to see he’s back.

    • Kat

He also has a part in the upcoming Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

      • Pop Vulture

Woohooo! My TV boyfriend is back! How I’ve missed him!

      • Sharb

he’s been on Leverage on TNT.

      • kate middleton

Yep, he’s in Dragon Tattoo. Probably gonna be huge.

        He is HOT.

    • Heidi

I love him too. Wish it was more than four episodes, I’d love to see him as a sexy pilot!!
He was also recently in a limited release movie with Christopher Plummer and Ewan McGregor. He played Christopher Plummer’s boyfriend (its a great film but I cannot remember the title!! The Dad comes out of the closet six months after his wife of over 40 years dies. Anyhow, just pointing you to more Goran!!

      • Kathy

It’s called “Beginners” and I didn’t get to see it in the quick theater run. I am definitely going to find it on DVD when it hits. He’s so yummy! I wasn’t planning on watching “Pan Am” but I will definitely check it out now.

“(…)will portray a sexy Yugoslavian immigrant torn between his communist Eastern Bloc homeland and the potential freedoms and opportunities of the West(…)”

How unfortunately historically incorrect, since Yugoslavia never was a “real” communist country. It never aligned itself with the Soviets and was considered a quasi-capitalist country and people had a LOT of freedoms comparable to the West. The country enjoyed good relations with the West, btw. I guess Goran doesn’t know the history of his own country either. Shame.

    • dally

I’m pretty sure Goran didn’t write the story. He’s just an actor who has been hired for a role. He’s not responsible for the historical accuracy.

    • Pop Vulture

Bet you’re lots of fun at parties.

      • AB

        LOL
Seriously. Do you think actors can tell the people who hire them, “hey, your storyline is historically wrong”? They’d be out of work pretty fast, and it wouldn’t make a darn bit of difference if they refused the work as a protest, because the storyline wouldn’t change, but another actor would get the job.
        Think about it, seriously.

    • Bo

Thank you for clarification Lala, you’re right about this.

  • mags

He was in The Beginners with Ewan McGregor/Christopher Plummer – almost unrecognizable.

    • Heidi

That’s the title!!! I didn’t find him unrecognizeable, I think they just made him look older – still alot younger than Plummer – and his manner of dress was different than we’re used to seeing.

  • Ashleigh

Maybe it is because I read the headline before my morning coffee, but am I the only one who read this headline and thought “Who could this be? ‘ER’ didn’t have any veterinarians.” ?

    • jo

      hahahaaaaaaaaaaa love it

    • Tansy

      That’s really dumb.

  • Sharb

I’m pretty sure he meant vet as in veteran not veterinarians since he played the part on ER for over a decade. Come on people, think for once.

    • @Sharb

I bet you’re fun at parties, too. Have you met “Lala?”

    • Ashleigh

Well no $h!t, Sharb. I am COMPLETELY sure (as opposed to your “pretty sure”) he meant “vet” as in veteran actor. My point was, when I first read it, I read it wrong, and had a beautiful “um, duh” moment to start my morning. Sorry, I tried to make a funny, and apparently I was unsuccessful. At least “jo” got a chuckle.

      • Kathy

I laughed, too. Sharb and Lala both are apparently crabby jerks.

I find it odd that the Spam on these comment boards is actually including commentary that responds to other people’s comments.

  • Katie

Just a guess, but I think if they are getting paid to spam AND they want to comment on the story, they are just killing two birds with one stone. Get out of here you spammers!

  • helen

Just go to ABC.com to see the trailer. As for this show
PamAm looks lame but I may give one try, The show
that I hope tanks is the Playboy Club. From what I’ve
seen, it’s going to be really bad.

  • Jen

Anyone else watch all those trailers and then drive themselves mad trying to remember where they’ve seen the lead actor/actress before?!?

  • Janet T.

I think he is Croatian in real life.
