It’s been a year and a half since we saw someone have an enema on a Discovery show as a last resort for hydration. We are due!
Cue the Sept. 2 second season premiere of Man, Woman, Wild, which shows how Mykel Hawke, a former Special Forces survival expert, and his wife Ruth England, a TV journalist, band together while stuck in a boat in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle. In the exclusive clip below, we see what happens when Mykel gets seasick and loses too many fluids — he asks Ruth to give him an enema using dirty rain water so that his bowel will absorb a small fraction of it. Were we Ruth, we’d have pointed out that Bear Grylls managed to give himself an enema on a raft in the Pacific. Then again, Mykel’s plan to take the dirty water up his backside means Ruth gets to drink the last of their clean water, so no wonder she doesn’t hesitate for long before saying, “I’ll do it.”
Naturally, Ruth handles most of the color commentary from there, save Mykel’s “Now I’m gonna configure to receive enema.” Enjoy! (You’re welcome.)

The other day it was Depardieu and today it’s the Hawkes. Bodily functions are really becoming your bread and butter, EW.
Well, learned something new today–hope I NEVER have reason to have to use it. BTW, are we sure that that’s not Bachelorette Ali faking an English accent who’s giving him his enema? Sure looks like her!
The Bermuda Triangle…wouldn’t the aliens who inhabit it have water?
I’d love to shove something up his arse, and it’s not an enema tube.
LOL!!! xD
Grrreat! Glad to see the two Hawkes back because unlike other survival shows a novice is included and it gives those of us who are married a wake-up call to the fact that survival is a team sport not just a selfish undertaking. Great job Mykel AND Ruth !
Don’t the cameraman & audioman in the second boat have water?
Why don’t they ask the camera & audio guys In the other boat for water?
(why was my first posting of this deleated?)
Because the whole point of the show is for them to survive without any outside assistance. If he thought it was bad enough that he needed attention right away, then they’d ask. In Episode 1, Season 1 Ruth nearly has a heat stroke, which is serious enough that they called for a medic. Myke knows what he’s doing!
Is the show canceled ? hope not . It’s not on disc. any more.
