Ben Flajnik tapped as next 'Bachelor'

Bachelor-Ben-F

Our sources are confirming a tabloid report that says ABC’s plan is to have Ben Flajnik as the next Bachelor.

The 28-year-old California winemaker was dissed by Bachelorette Ashley Hebert this summer, and it seems things didn’t work out between him and Jennifer Love Hewitt on their apparent recent date (“Rumors are rumors … we did meet, but totally by coincidence,” she insisted to Ryan Seacrest.) But Flajnik will have the ladies lining up in January if all goes according to the network’s current intentions. (Flajnik isn’t officially announced yet.)

Flajnik was angry when Hebert dumped him, which rallied more Bachelorette fans to his side. And the man certainly looks the part, right?

    ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

We want new blood – quit recycling unless the CDC said ABC had to quarantine all the contestants.

    • Shannon

Fliess said they will never use a new person again… people get too invested in the people with a “back story”.

      • anna

i know but it would be nice to get a fresh face

    • sam

so boring. should have been ames or kirk or william if they must pick from the pool of previous men from the bechelorette. Terrible choice.

      • Heidi

I wanted Michael to be next – but maybe he needs time to grieve Holly and their breakup.

      • tennisfan

Agree, Heidi. During Monday’s show, both my husband & I were rooting for Michael, just because he comes across as the most “real” person. And he seems like a lot of fun, would provide entertainment while still being a regular guy.

      • lisainfranklin@aol.com

Ben is not cute and has the personality of a dish rag. Ryan should have been the bachelor.

    • D

AMEN!!!! Get some new people on there!!!

    • Sara

Agreed get someone new! I cant stand a full season of hearing Ben’s nasally voice so I wont be tuning in!

    • Jethro

Hopefully Mr. Dull & Boring will cut his hair and get a personality. She dumped him for a reason, now to look foolish all over again, makes him the FOOL!

  • sara

I am thrilled to see Ben was chosen! He is cute and seemed like a genuine guy. Hopefully he can figure out how to make the right decisions when eliminating girls.

    • wino

hopefully he wont let producers manipulate him into picking the wrong gal (ex Matt, Jason). and hopefully he learned from Brad that sleeping with the other girl(s) on the fantasy dates, will NOT go over well with the new missus. basically, Ben needs a lot of luck to make this work.

    • Michele

I am excited it is Ben!! I wish him the best of luck!! :) )

    • Marge

i really was enamored by Ben during the past season, he seemd like a great young man but has become a serious disappointment to me. I thought that he had a strong set of values, would make positive choices but feel that he is qutie shallow and naive where women are concerned. Courtney has no desire to marry, he is just another conquest to her and he appears unable to see through her games. They deserve each other, and I hope we can have a much better Bachelor season to come. This has become very tiresome, and I am totally finished with this season! What a disappointmen.t

  • RobininTexas

YAWN…..C’mon…get some NEW people! How about even stepping outside the box and having an older group??? (No disrespect to Ben, he’s adorable)

    • PN

They get the bachelors that get rejected on Bachelorette and don’t give the rose and put them on the Bachelor show in January. That’s probably why the couples get separated months after the season ends.

    • PN

But they want to stick to that same hunky 27 or 28- year old bachelor look with good handsome looks and nothing else. It fits snugly with their clean TV image and the hot tub scenes.

      • kross

Would you rather they pick an old, fat, ugly guy? please!

      • energysuck

Seriously, who wants to look at a bunch of botoxed, saggy, people running around in bathing suits, Hopefully people who more mature would have more dignity than most of the idiots who cry and get into dumb arguments on the show. I can’t see 40 somethings crying… we had such a connection… I love him so much…. Hence the show would not be a train wreck and boring to watch!!

      • Dee

        and your point?

  • Marissa

Oh, I would enjoy this a lot! I kind of love him in a not-really-because-it’s-only-reality-tv kind of way.

    • Rene

      I totally agree with Marissa!

  • Reba

    HELL YEAH!
    I LOVE BEN!!!

  • Meg

    Hopefully they’ll cut his hair.

    • Amanda

      I hope they don’t, it’s adorable!

    • lefty

That was my thought as well.

    • RK

I hope he is there for the right reasons. And other cliches.

    • Jessica

I love his hair! It’s sexy!

  • Pat Sways E

You mean they picked a white male to be the newest bachelor?? Will wonders never cease?

  • joline

Just glad it wasn’t Ryan P….that guy was pure schmaltz.

    • etm

      Ryan is gonna be pi$$ed!!

    • Jessica

      Agreed. He weirded me out.

  • dawn

He kind of strikes me as an introvert, so it’ll be interesting seeing him as the “lead”. I liked him from the start of Ashley’s season.

    • kahuna

It doesn’t matter. The producer will feed him his lines to recite like they always do.

  • Liz

I thought it would be Ryan…

    • Karen

I thought it would be Constantine. Ben’s cute, but I think C. would be more interesting to watch.

      • Valerie

Constantine has a serious girlfriend already.

  • jenkay

    BORING! NOT WATCHING….

  • PN

Why can’t they find someone NEW to be the next Bachelor? They keep recycling the same people from past seasons to be on it and reject that pile of new applicants that want to be on it. I don’t know how left out some of the 1,000 or so applicants feel when they have to sit through the spring shows and not be considered.

  • Janie

I thought I was looking at a picture of Josh Groban for a minute there. :)

  • curly951

Very predictable, very tiresome – continues the trend of the Bachelor/Bachelorette loser becoming the next Bachelor/Bachelorette. It’s about time this show injects some diversity into the casting, and I say that as a middle-aged white woman who doesn’t think it too much to expect ABC to recognize it’s 2011 and the population of the United States consists of more than pretty white people.

    • Shannon

I’m a young black woman and I don’t even expect diversity on ABCs the Bachelor…you know that TV has a problem with people of color getting too intimate. Plus, it’s not Barbie and Ken enough.
This is a fight we’ll never win.

      • Yo

Write ABC. These shows are shamefully unrepresentative of the country. ABC needs to address the problem.

  • PN

He looks like that singer Josh Groban, even down to the curly hair and locks.

    • ‘Lish

      He so does!

    • jackie

He looks more like Rafael Nadal.

      • RK

He looks more like the other guy that looked like him on the show.

      • tennisfan

Yep, looks like Rafa. Sorry, I don’t get the whole thing about Constantine & Ben looking so much alike — I see similar coloring and that’s it.
