In this truly cute clip from extras on The Vampire Diaries: The Complete Second Season DVD, Accola is seen explaining Caroline’s complicated connections to her fellow Mystic Falls cohorts. Something about the clip sort of makes me wish I had more teachers like her in high school. I bet she could make the periodic elements sounds like a piece of juicy gossip.

Omg so agreed with this comment! Her character in season 1 was so annoying. Candice herself seems like a complete doll but Caroline season 1 was so annoying. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for her bite it and then, she becomes a vampire and like you said “chilled the f out.” She became confident and badass and just a great character. I found myself quietly begging the writers not to kill her off shortly after her transformation like they did Vicki and she’s just gotten better and better as a character. Love her now!

Word. And I really think TVD has since long outgrown the Twilight parallels.
No, I totally understand what GV is saying (I think, anyway.) Of the three vampire franchises, Twilight is tame, and a bit cheesy. True Blood is, in my opinion, unwatchable due to its graphic, over the top nastiness. Vampire Diaries falls in between, where it’s smart and sexy without having to have a shock value, other than just the great writing.
And she forgot, Damon gave her his blood to save her after…um…something and then Katherine killed her. So she is totally a vampire because K wanted a pawn instead of her in Klaus’ ritual.

I could not agree more! I did like Caroline in her pre-vampire days, but nothing like I do now! Vampire Caroline is easily my favorite character next to Damon. I find it so interesting that becoming a vampire has brought out her humane side.
