Katee Sackhoff has found another series. Since Battlestar Galactica ended three years ago, the actress has bounced around from NBC’s short-lived Bionic Woman to stints on Fox’s 24 to CBS’ CSI.

Now A&E has given a series order to her latest project, Longmire — described as a contemporary crime thriller from the producers of TNT’s The Closer. She’ll play a Philadelphia detective transferred to a small Wyoming town. Also in the cast: Robert Taylor and Lou Diamond Phillips. Longmire is set to become A&E’s fourth drama following The Beast, The Glades and Breakout Kings and will premiere next year.

They should have cast her in the Powers pilot. Too bad.

  • jmcg

I’m not familiar with the beast. When doesit air?

    • Shadowlands

It was a Patrick Swayze show that was canceled shortly before he passed.

    • Acaseofgeo

“A small Wyoming town”????? How many murders do you suppose are going to happen there? Maybe she’ll be like Jessica Fletcher and do lots of trips away from Cabot Cove.

  • Jay

Horrible actress. I cringed every time she was onscreen in “24″, and eventually started fast-forwarding scenes that featured her. No way in h*ll I’m watching this.

    • Dusty

Did you see her in Battlestar Galactica? I hated her on Nip/Tuck, but she was amazing on BSG (which I saw only after watching her on Nip/Tuck), probably one of my favorite female characters.

    • Cris

While I won’t disagree that she was awful on 24, I chalk that up to a godawful character and terrible plotline. She was terrific on BSG and was the only redeeming thing about the Bionic Woman reboot. I’ll definitely give this a chance.

    • Color Me Impressed

I thought she was awful on 24 as well; in fact, I never even finished watching that season just because the character of Dana Walsh was so poorly written and acted and seemingly pointless. Then I sack Sackhoff on Battlestar Galactica, and she was amazing! I’d definitely give her another chance.

Katee Sackhoff, Cassidy Freeman, Lou Diamond Phillips and the #2 Matrix agent in a show based on the Walt Longmire series of books? I’ll have some of that.

  • dPippy

Katee Sackhoff rules, someone needs to give her a job, you frakkin’ Katee haters need to learn your lesson and shut the frack up she’s beautiful funny and talented bow down to your goddess you limp-wristed sissies

    • seriously

Obnoxious, irritating, rowdy, conceited, smug, butch. Highly overrated. You just wanna make her shut the f.. up.

      • Rupert

        Violent response much?

      • Acaseofgeo

What does “much” mean in this context? I find it irritating when so many people use that to end a question.

  • Vago

The first time I ever saw her was 24 – and absolutely hated her. Then I came across BSG a few months ago and loved her in that. So I”ll definitely give this a shot. Good luck to Katee.

  • sunsetsnow81

Love her! She just needs the right show and part.

  • MWeyer

Hope she keeps the awesome red hair she had on her CSI stint, looks even better.

  • topoopon

    Ok, I’m a sucker. Where do I watch? :)

  • Marty

Dump Lou Diamond Phillips and I’ll give it a shot.

  • Jesse

She was really great on The Education of Max Bickford, with Richard Dreyfuss and the always amazing Marcia Gay Harden. I’m probably the only one who remembers that show, but I really loved it!

    • susan

Hey Jesse, I remember the EOMB. Loved it too. I went to HS school with Marcia and I’m not surprised at her fame and talent. Love Katee too and agree she needs some good parts and scripts.

  • dj8

Sounds like a reverse The Killing.

    • Sharma

Really? I think I’m getting more of a gender-reversed-version-from-The-Glades vibe myself (also? the whole LONGworth vs. LONGmire thing is kinda starting to bug me just a little bit).

But, I can still see where you got the comparison between this new drama and ‘The Killing’…

  • Steve

So who is that in that photo? I saw every episode of BSG, plus her turn in “24″, and that does NOT look a bit like Katee

  • sockigal

I will watch! Loved her on BSG. I hope her new series takes off and becomes a hit! I watched some of her interviews for BSG and she seems like a really great person. Wish her the best for a long acting career! She is beautiful, chrismatic, relatable and a great actress. I thought that the disputes with 24 had to do with the character that she played, not her acting ability. She was thrown into the show and the character was a hated woman. I think some of you are getting her charater on 24 mixed up with her actual acting ability.

  • the best of both worlds

As a huge BSG fan I dare to say this is the worst picture I’ve ever seen of her. Simply unrecognizable – she looks middle-aged and having a / few / botched face- corrections.Or she just had a make-up ./ hair-stylist who made her looking that way. She’s a lot prettier with short hair and minimum make-up.
