Final 'American Idol' season 11 audition to be held in... -- EXCLUSIVE

Are you a singer (or “singer”) between the ages of 15 and 28 whose one dream on this Earth is to get the chance to sing Heart’s “Alone” in front of Steven Tyler? Then you’re in luck, because Fox has announced the final audition city for the upcoming 11th season of American Idol. Get out your hair gel, folks, and click through for the location.

The final stop on the American Idol season 11 audition tour is… East Rutherford, New Jersey! On Tuesday, Sept. 20, hopefuls can assemble at the Izod Center in East Rutherford starting at 7 a.m. to obtain a wristband, and then they’ll be asked to return to the arena on Thursday, September 22 by 5 a.m. (Ooof!)

Season 11 of American Idol premieres Sunday, Jan. 22 at 10 p.m., after the NFC Championship Game.

    LOL at “singer”.

The funny thing is, these thousands of hopefuls who show up for every Idol audition are probably the same group of people over and over. If it were new people each time, just about every person in the USA in that age group would have done it by now.

Interesting theory considering how many thousands make up the millions in that demographic, people getting older/ineligible every year and new people becoming eligible, and the different locations they go to every year. Ironically, they’ve been to East Rutherford many times, but that’s besides the point lol

So no more American Idol sweet

    • No Michael

I don’t think it’s the final AI, I think they were announcing the final stop for auditions, for season 11.

the voice is a better show

    • Meg

Okay, Adam Levine. Stop posing under an alias.

    • swthompson

      agreed.

    • Zach

It really wasn’t better. Just had better judges, interesting battle rounds, and a lack of reliance on behind-the-scenes footage meant to get you to root for a particular contestant and his/her backstory. Still think the talent and performances on Idol this season blew most of The Voice out of the water.
