Logan from Veronica Mars is joining Sarah Michelle Gellar’s new drama on the CW.
EW has learned exclusively that Jason Dohring will recur as Mr. Carpenter, a high school teacher at the new school attended by Juliet (Zoey Deutch), the stepdaughter of Manhattan socialite Siobhan Martin (Gellar). The sexy thriller — which features Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Gellar playing twins — will bow Sept. 13. It also stars Lost’s Nestor Carbonell as an FBI agent.
Dohring recently appeared in episodes of Lie to Me and CSI but fans probably count his run as Josef on Moonlight as his second-most memorable gig behind Mars.

Another plus for this show. I’ll be watching.
Yes, I got hooked already on the show just by reading the article about the show in the latest issue of EW. This just adds to the interesting cast.
I agree. Best news of the day!!
So basically The Ringer has a cast comprised of my 3 favorite shows of all times: Buffy, Lost, and Veronica Mars. How can I not watch this show? Now, if only they could get a cast member of Pushing Daises then my head just might explode.
Those are my favorites too!!! SMG has worked with Lee Pace in the past, I would love him on this show!!!
It’s really just unfair at this point. I just cleared the next year’s worth of Tuesdays!
I’m just thrilled the show is adding some young blood. The previous male leads were all 40+ old dudes making it way too much like Real Housewives. Dohring is terrific, I’ll be watching for him. The whole twins things is too soapy for me.
Those are my favourite shows too…..oh Lee Pace, how you are missed…..

YES!!!! Buffy and Logan together! Swoon!
I second that ‘swoon’!
Sorry, but he only belongs with Kristen Bell and she only belongs with James Marsters. THIS IS CANON.
That said, I’m super stoked
Dohring should be a huge star, but I’ll take whatever I can get.
Totally agree, he has the same charisma, magnetism, subtle acting as Ryan Gosling and Ryan is one of the most ‘it’ hot A-list young actor right now..so i don’t get why Jason is not more successful..what is the problem studios, directors ?
ok it is not fair, i did not want to watch this show (i hate CW and because the preview clip seems lame even if i did enoy SMG on Buffy) but now i mean Jason freaking Dohring is back on my tv so i have to watch..i would prefer a better show on a better channel but i will take what i can..By the way this guy should making movies not some lametv shows on teen soap channel like CW.. but whatever i will watch Jason in everything.
I so agree about Jason, but there are actually a few good shows on the CW right now (The Vampire Diaries — despite seeming like crappy teen stuff, is actually pretty damn awesome, and I am so not a teen; and Nikita is really good too.) You should give those shows a shot, plus Ringer and The Secret Circle have potential next season as well. Unfortunately, yes, most of it is teen crap.
Agree. I am 30something & completely addicted to Vampire Diaries, along with my tween daughter. It has AWESOME drama & real surprises. Plus, it’s not afraid to totally kill off its characters!
That being said – YAY for Buffy & Logan being together on this show. MUST WATCH for me.
It’s not a “teen soap” like you said. At the beginning it was A CBS PROJECT, and it still is, but it is on the CW because it is a serialize show. So, it will be an adult show, and not a teenage show ilke you said. Of course, if you don’t like it, you don’t like it, it’s not a problem, but don’t say that it is a teenage thing ! You haven’t see anything yet.
I know! I was planning to avoid this show, because heretofore I haven’t been impressed by what I saw. Despite liking most of the cast. But now I am actually going to tune in and care what happens to the show.
Darn it! CW has got me invested now.
Made. My. Day.
This show is going to have to suck majorly for me to not watch it.
(And given that I’ve watched some seriously bad CW shows… Melrose 2.0 anyone?… maybe I shouldn’t be talking about standards)
Logan! I can’t believe he isn’t the star of a hugely rated network series yet. He’s awesome.
Now I’m even more excited for this show! I love me some Logan Echolls!!
I just yelled so loud I think I scared people in the next building! So excited!!!!!!!!!!
Same! Except there is no next building to wonder what’s up – and I did the flapping hands at the side of my face thing – can’t wait!
I was on the fence about watching Ringer, but this seals the deal. Loved Dohring on VM, loved him on the too-short-lived Moonlight. Great choice, showrunners.
Wow, this show really does have a great cast.
ok…this is cool. Ringer is officially the only new show I care about this year.
Very happy for Jason. He deserves alot of success, he has the talent and the charisma to be a huge star.
Yet another reason for me to give this show a shot. To be honest, this is one of the only new fall shows I’m actually interested in, and it just keeps getting more attractive to me.
This is how I feel! I think every time I read an article about this show I just get more into it! I was already on board because of SMG (gotta have some Buffy loyalty) and the rest of the cast is pretty stellar as well. I just hope it’s as interesting as it seems it will be.
Best. News. Ever.
You took the words right out of my mouth!!
