Josh Gad will reunite with his old Back to You co-star, Ty Burrell, on Modern Family.

EW has learned that The Book of Mormon star will make a guest appearance as Kenny, a neighbor of the Dunphys who worships the ground that Phil (Ty Burell) walks stumbles on — and he’s made all decisions in his life based on what Phil would do. (Who here doesn’t?)

The episode will air sometime this fall. Modern Family returns to ABC for its third season on Sept. 21.

Really? Poor Man’s Jonah Hill is a “scoop”?

      • Chelsea

You don’t know what you’re talking about. This guy is a Tony nominated actor and KILLED IT in “Mormon”. So yes, it is worthy “scoop”.

WOW! Jonah hill doesnt have a fraction of the talent that Josh Gadd has. Do your research dude.

        Stupid comment.

    I second that.

Really, was Jack Black not available? That guy is a horrible actor and his bits on The Daily Show are painful to watch.

  • Jim

Phil Dunphy: Life Coach. What could go wrong?

    • Mark

      LOL!

  • Kyle

ya this guy didnt last too long on The Daily Show

    • SC

He was busy getting nominated for a Tony Award.

I saw Josh in “The Book of Mormon” two weekends ago. You couldn’t take your eyes off of him. He is amazing in every aspect of his role. I am very excited to see what he will bring to Modern Family!!

He was also in the “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” with Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Mitchell)!!!!! He replaced Dan Fogler.

Now all they need is to bring on Ayda Fields, Patricia Heaton (cross-over?) and Kelsey Grammar and they would complete the Back To You thing. Fred Willard’s episode on MF was fantastic.

He was the best thing about Love and Other Drugs, an otherwise forgettable film. I think he’s quite talented, and the plot sounds pretty funny.

  • And this is news why?

Uhh who cares if the guy won a Tony, this is a sitcom not a play. If the Daily Show was any indication he should have stayed on the stage and left comedy behind!

I heard that the material that Josh Gad had to work with on the Daily Show was not his own and he was not allowed to add his own spin on things.

Apparently NBC thought he was funny enough to green light a pilot that he will be executive producing.
